  • Folkloro ansamblis "Visi" dainuoja Liudviko Rėzos užrašytą lietuvininkų liaudies dainą "Septyni rūtų lapukai" pritariant kanklėms. East Prussia (Ostpreußen) in 1940-1944: color film of fishermen's life in Nida (Nidden, Purwin), Curonian spit (Kurische Nehrung): their houses, ships, boats, nets, fish... And a traditional Prussian folk love song performed by folklore ensemble "Visi". Dainos žodžiai:
    Septyni rūtų lapukai
    Devyni jauni svetukai
    Visus devynis išleidau
    Kol savo jaunų sulaukiau
    Prijojo pilns kiems bernyčių
    Surišo žirgus prie tvoros
    Žirgai tvorelę išlenkė
    Įleido tarnus į daržą
    Tarnai rūtytes numynė
    Lipsiu per dvarą tekina
    Guosiuos mamužei verkdama
    Ryžkis dukryte, žinokis!
    TRANSLATION OF THE LYRICS:
    Seven leaves of rue
    Nine young guests
    I saw all seven of them out
    Till I have finally met my own young one
    Lots of lads rode into the yard
    They’ve tied their horses to a fence
    The horses have bent the fence
    They’ve let the servants into the garden
    The servants have trampled the rue
    I’ll run through the manor
    I’ll complain to my mother in tears
    Get ready & get a grip of yourself, dear daughter!

      Alf - redas Actually Prussians, but since they're all dead, the rightful successors of the Prussian land is Lithuania because of Lietuvninkai heritage.

    Is this a Daine!? It's interesting because in Moldova/Romania we have a similar name for traditional old type of songs - Doina. I guess with a Dacian/Thracian origin.

    • @Balticfolk
      @Balticfolk  7 лет назад +21

      Yes, it is daina :) But in Lithuania we call any song "daina" - however, this particular song is very old, it's part of the folklore. Glad to hear that Indo-European heritage is strong in Moldova & Romania too :)

      Yeah, it's not Old Prussian, just the native Lithuanian dialect of East Prussian. The two aren't particularly closely related; I don't even think the Lithuanian spoken there has very many loans from Old Prussian.

    • @manometras
      @manometras 4 года назад +3

      Rampant Mutt, it's in the local East-Prussian dialect of Lithuanian language, Lithuanians lived there along with Prussuans and after the Prussian language died. Latter, those local Lithuanians went to Germany together with Germans, and became Germans by life style and language. But Lithuanians from Lithuania got to know their songs and sing them until now.

      @@ananasasjenkins881 You are talking about high and low prussian, two diaects. High prussian phonetically sounds like samogitian (žemaičių), which is like a ghetto lithuanian, with a strong accent. It's eerily simmilar. I'm not sure if you looked at old prussian texts but clearly you havent tried translating words from prussian to LT. Try using any existing old prussian and (high and low prussian) translators and see for yourself. They were our people (who we were constantly fighting against us and we abandoned then when the teutonic order came.

    • @Balticfolk
      @Balticfolk  6 месяцев назад +1

      You'd have to be psychic to know that for sure ;) But speaking purely from a historical perspective, it's highly unlikely that all the people in this video would be Germans as this nationality was not predominant in the countryside of Klein Litauen.
