Mark Julian, never knew the man personally BUT if youve been around the Rotary scene in Nz since or before the 90s HE WAS and imo STILL is the OG of this shit in Nz when it comes to all-things Rotaries. Massive Salute!
Hey bro...is there something we can all do for Billy? Maybe an episode to give that bloke something special rotary related. Like an engine or something. A new line of merchandise where all money goes towards him. Honestly bro I take my hat off to that guy cannot imagine how hard it is with one arm. I have both and really struggle to do car stuff. Since I've watched these vids of yours I've become really amazed at rotaries and also the story behind nz culture and Billy!
Hard bro👊❤️ If people could please sub to Billy’s channel🙏 I also started a go fund me page for him with all proceeds going direct to bill. I help him out as much as I can and appreciate everyone thinking of him and can see what I do an absolute champion and brother🤘
He is accurate with the radiusing of the exhause ports. The straight edge should be sharp and the D side should be radiussed. This give yoiu a really crispy sounding engine and twitchy throttle response. And like mentioned saves the apex seals phenominally where when you rebuild the engine you reuse the apex seals beacuase they are in that good condition and are mated to the plates well.
Man that just brings back so many memories. Plugs fouling, car full of petrol fumes, random shit happening all the time, welcome to the NA rotary life LOL

What a difference to your trip , The van got hooked up Less Exhaust leaks , a Tacho that works and a Tuned carb . ❤ but those Exhaust leaks top the cake . Pro tip now your jets are the right size you need a decent micron fuel filter to keep the junk out the jets , like when it just cut out . preferably one you can remove and clean on the side of the road when necessary
Bro it makes me laugh watching this i stay in Melbourne now but i am from Kaitaia born and bred these kind of missions is just how we roll, the shit we get away with back home, i lost my license real quick here in Australia and keep getting in trouble, my Aussie mates think im mad because i send it all the time, maybe because they think of the consequences, but back home im just one of the bros doing what i know. thanks for sharing our culture and how we roll bro.
Its a dyno dynamics dyno with a load cell, changing the ramp rate changes the load, different shoot-out modes etc, changing the ambient temps on the dyno will also effect power numbers, how can the shop owner/tuner not know this?
Rolling road vs hub will always read different hp. You have a ratio to contend with from wheel to roller and then rolling resistance of the tire, tire growth when they heat, how hard you strap down bla bla. I think you wanted to know how many rpm per second the dyno would run its ramp rate at when you asked about the dyno load yeah ?
Was that a Supertrap exhaust I think they were called like on BADRX in the 90s. It was the daylow green RX3 coupe with a 10a nose cone from memory. It was the shit back in the day.
Sure there are lots more people that will read this with more experience on the topic.🙏🙏🙏is run as long as possible headers then put 1 aes muff at rear🤘
Hey, this is going back to probs, '97... But talking of Monster J's, does anyone know what happened to a purple RX3 with a Monster J that was in West Auckland, it was that light pastel purple, had a welded diff. A guy Brent (if i remember his name correctly) owned it. I remember being in the back of it, sideways everywhere haha.

Hey Ash, let your dude at Ape know if he really wants to make good power with a blower to look into a twin screw blower, not the roots he had. Screw blowers are not only much more efficient they have much less parasitic loss which is a big factor when supercharging a rotary. Great video 🤙
@@misfirerotary No problem. Idk about their availability down there but Whipple makes some great screw blowers. I had there W100AX blower on my 4AGZE build and it made great power. Still wish I never sold that car LMAO 😞
