Archguns need three changes: One: Infinite punch through Two: Make them pierce through all defenses, including armor, shields, and Eximus overguard Three: Ignore most or all damage attenuation Because when you are shooting at mooks with guns designed to take down bloody spaceships, that's the bare minimum
How I would buff the archguns: - Buff the crit mods, they're shit - Galvanized Dual Rounds and Galvanized Modified Munitions need to exist and do what the equivalents for the primaries and secondaries do - Let us put primary weapon arcanes on them - Either reduce the timer of them being able to be resummoned or make the archgun ammo pickups more common so it recharges the timer more frequently - Remove the stagger on some of them, it's stupid
Basic dual rounds could use a buff, too. 60% multi-shot is a joke. Reduce/remove the cool down, or give us the option to use heavy weapons in the primary slot
DE’s “Always move forward, never look back” game design philosophy really messes up a LOT more than they realize and it takes a vast majority of the community crying out for them to actually look back and change things
And even then “changing things” is a monkey’s paw deal since DE has had a history of making everything else worse to compensate for a handful of things being bad
That philosophy can work... But the issue is they really don't look back. I dunno if they need a dedicated balancing department or what, but the cracks have become trenches. And the trenches will become chasms if they don't have some major rebalancing soon.
I'm hoping that arch guns will soon get more much needed love. I absolutely LOVE some of their sound design and enjoy firing them dakkas but the damage just doesn't justify it
It's funny how Railjack missions against corpus get all these cool transmissions from the enemy captain ordering their crew around and taunting you through the battle as their capital ship actually fights you with volleys of weaponry, while missions against grineer just have their ship... there. Silent, even when captained by your lich. Not shooting anything, other than an occasional ramsled. Shows how half-assed the entire Railjack mission mode still is.

@@Maverick2736 tbh the corpus commanders are super problematic gameplay wise, see warframe can only do one 'video message' like that at a time, so depending on what is happening, its very likely the messages will lag behind in game events, so you will get torpedo/ramsled warnings, *after* they happen.
I like the idea of them being this big, restricted, no extra ammo thing that you pull out for a burst of big DPS... The only issue is that they don't OFFER big DPS, so it all falls apart.

As a person who was just leveling a Howie Mandonel versus level 30 grinner, I was like “wait, why can’t this barely kill an eximus? I have it fully built and everything what the fuck is going on???” I now can remember when I was MR8, struggling with sortie missions. These weapons just aren’t caught up with the times. Somebody did the math for it and it's less gay than straight stuff because now you have 2 girls but one of them is still a guy in the lower bits so you still get the regular action be possible.
in my honest opinion, the only buff archguns need is having their damage scale with enemy level by a small percentage something, no other weapon can do and allows them to become the heavy weapons they're meant to be, and that way they also become more useful un archwing missions is it an artificial buff? yes, but it'll be a huge boost without making them too overpowered
Only time I ever feel incentivized to use archguns was when I slap the damn things on a Necramech and rampage through Railjack missions with them, and even then I only ever pull them out because the Voidrig's 4 can't blow up Nullifier bubbles. Those things BADLY need arcanes and mods before they are even considered an option.
I regret not clicking off the video when the outro rolled in. I was dealt 2d6 psychic damage. Also, Mausolon on Zephyr is actually really fun if you also have a Wisp in the team.
Even back in the day archguns were never great, they were okay. But these days they are a button press to make yourself temporarily debuffed in damage. Even Arcane Tanker has a baffling timer and it's not much better defense wise than Arcane Guardian which is on 99% of the time. Thematically Hildryn and Qorvex are supposed to use their arcguns but why would anyone do that in their current miserable state.
I occasionally think about that. How Tanker exists but realistically the actual activation and usage of the arcane is super janky from a gameplay/mechanical sense. It would be cool if there was some mechanic that would make it where you're easily going in and out of archgun usage to trigger it, or just something, but alas.

You activate the archgun, the tanker lasts for a minute, but then at worst scenario you have a 4-5 minute downtime before you can have it online again. And it's only 300 armor more than guardian, which is nothing for armor (few % difference). So the overall effectiveness of tanker is just bad value. It's not good.

I was happy to make the Larkspur eat people alive. But that was only happening because i delete everyone's defenses with Hildryn and coat them in Viral and Heat. Avenger helps too. Damage otherwise is like a reshuffled Nukor with worse mods. I recognize this is an exception however.
i like the idea but that would be some serious power creep and all the new builds would just be requiring like 7 forma and it would just become tedious to feel like you finished a weapon build. sure you could just not go that far but i could say the same about building as is, like an incarnon weapon dosent need a full build to shed everything the game has to offer but you want a full build on all your weapons anyways.

necramechs using fists could THEORETICALLY look badass if they made them do something like just charging slow, heavy-hitting, and shockwave-causing punches instead of straight up boxing with em. we need one punch necramechs

@@zeeb2190 I can only speak for the mausolon here, it's supposed to be BIG nuclear damage for the mausolons alt fire, but it needs to charge off of kills. I have one shot a lvl 300 acalyte(I don't think I spelled that right) with the mausolon before, but I was also using a mirage with 525% strength, If remember right, my eclipse was over 1000% & each clone had a higher base damage & crit chance then me. but then you could also use a weapon with way less setup, the mausolon can do somethings, but it needs alot of help to do most.
Would be cool to see them improve those weapons. I think it would be cool if they made all arch weapons damage like status and critical hits fall under a damage category such as heavy damage. All large robotic enemies like the grineer domas, the large corpus robots including profit taker and large ships take reduced damage from all sources of damage except heavy damage from archguns. This would give more relevance to archgun heavy weapons and justify archguns having a cool down.
I even asked Pablo about this in person at Tennocon 2023, addressing how there are galvanized mods and arcanes as well for other weapons! This buff was indeed something but it wasn't enough :(, Pablo even said there really isn't any big plans to fix archguns either .......
Another issue is that in order to use them outside of archwing and necramech you have to go through the fortuna syndicate grind to unlock another syndicate grind to use them
been using prisma dual decurion on protea with her armor shred augment and it feels ok but its an awful lot of setup and ammo upkeep for, on paper, supposed to be a big and bulky power weapon its fine on infested missions, even SP infested but thats about it. i want to enjoy my massive dual machine guns like its a real beast of a weapon tho
People say archguns need galvanized mods and arcanes and ammo pick-ups, but i disagree. DE whants archguns to be weapons you deploy into battle to wipe out a massive crowd of enemies in seconds (funny how even secondaries do a better job at that) so id say intergrate galvanized aptitude into archguns without having to kill enemies and have thir damage increase the longer gun stays up. The gun runs on ammo and on a timer. Collecting ammo boxes give back ammo but do not extend the timer
A potential bandaid for archguns: MORE MODS. We dont have that many, and there isnt much variety in builds for archguns. Arcanes would be nice too, to give people a reason to use certain archguns. Sure, rivens are nice, but that's really about all we DO have.
Thought of a concept a while back where archguns are buffed by your melee counter; when equipped, your melee counter is frozen and your archgun damaged is multipled by your melee count (×2-12). Keep the archgun utility timer, but it is up to the player to keep the melee counter active after the gun is stowed. You could have some fun mods/arcanes like 'Each archgun kill adds to the melee counter' allowing the archgun to self-buff while making archwing melee more powerful too
Archgun were supposed to be that moment of power and yet normal ground weapon are still more powerfull than those space battle weapon. It would need a drastic damage buff to actually feel the moment of power.
I still have yet to get the Archgun Multishot mod. Because for some reason, there are 2 sources and both are a PAIN to loot. At this point I've given up getting it.
Here me out. Back then during the golden age of the Orokin, they were a spacefaring civilization. One of the reasons for their success in space travel/exploration, they had an advanced space fleet. Let's say DE somehow adds that or something similar to the lore of warframe, we can get 2 potential warframes. 1. An archgun qarframe with exalted archgun. 2. A sentinal warframe with an exalted sentinal. Maybe the archgun warframe was someone important to the lore and apparently was the turret gunner or known for his/her skills with a turret and the sentinal warframe maybe could be based on the captain or a high ranking person of the fleet . The sentinal maybe helped the high ranking person in his daily routines and conquest of space and make the theme and skills around strategy and tactics and demanding respect. The sentinal warframe could be like a utility/crowd control/support frame. A mix between vauban and kora perhaps? The archgun warframe could have an op exalted archgun but with the downsides of using an archgun, which is already the default archgun experience. This warframe could be some kinda damage/crowd control frame. Maybe a mix between Mesa and Yarelli? Post post notes: Maybe the archguns passive could be the ability to use archguns anywhere at anytime.
Archguns need an arcane to get extra damage or something similar to the galvanized shot and condition overload. Wheter it is an arcane o making new versions of existing mods exactly like thay did with the galvanized mods
Before even watching: We need to invest more into Archguns, we need to stop and summon them in mission, and they've got limited ammo with few to no ways to replenish it while it's out. If it isn't AT LEAST as good as my Secondary, there's an issue... And no Archgun meets that bar. If it wasn't for all the extra we need to do to even get to use them, this'd be... Fine, if not GOOD, but it's just ridiculous as is.
After watching: Yup. I want to like them, the idea of summoning a gun from FUCKING SPACE and just holding a goddamn scifi equivalent of a chain gun like some super steroided Rambo is AWESOME, but the reality is about as good as goddam Sol Gate. Visually, audibly, they feel great to use, punchy and impactful and... Then you see the damage and wonder why you bothered in the first place. If they really don't want to give us the mods and arcanes that make Primaries and Secondaries like they are, then we honestly need a MUCH larger damage buff than just 2x. Even then, that'd still leave a good chunk of Archguns in the dust, but it'd be better than it is now. Also kinda funny that we both focused on them not even matching Secondaries, much less Primaries. XD
I really love the arch guns. They are so cool and the whole let me summon my arch gun after the hard grind before it. But then. Zero damage. And yeah yeah you can make some with it but let us be honest they suck badly. They should be by far the most op weapons. With the draw backs given. But ist is more like this. I sacrifice Mobility, ammo, and damage output for well nothing really.
not to mention almost all of the archguns at the moment are all bugged with volt shield have a weird hitbox around enemies kinda hard to show it without a video😅
I use Sevagoth and Dagath with Mausolon all the time. It deal enough damage after debuffs. Just wish we could get one or two mod slot/ galvanized mod/ Arcane. Any tihng that reward those who put so much of effort to build for a BFG power moment.

Yeah, I dont even use an Archgun unless I have a Riven for it. ArchGuns need Arcanes, more Primed Mods and Galvanized Mods. When my secondary does more then ths heavy flakk cannon I call ftom the sky, there is a problem.
I dont want my fav warframes to be reworked. Every time they touched my at the time main I dropped the frame almost entirely. Like Limbo, Vauban or Wukong. Only one they got right as far as Im concerned is Hydroid

Arcane Tanker should be always on when you have the archgun in your hands.
And when you unequip tje archgun THEN it has the timer.

Another issue is that in order to use them outside of archwing and necramech you have to go through the fortuna syndicate grind to unlock another syndicate grind to use them

been using prisma dual decurion on protea with her armor shred augment and it feels ok but its an awful lot of setup and ammo upkeep for, on paper, supposed to be a big and bulky power weapon
its fine on infested missions, even SP infested but thats about it. i want to enjoy my massive dual machine guns like its a real beast of a weapon tho

People say archguns need galvanized mods and arcanes and ammo pick-ups, but i disagree. DE whants archguns to be weapons you deploy into battle to wipe out a massive crowd of enemies in seconds (funny how even secondaries do a better job at that) so id say intergrate galvanized aptitude into archguns without having to kill enemies and have thir damage increase the longer gun stays up. The gun runs on ammo and on a timer. Collecting ammo boxes give back ammo but do not extend the timer

A potential bandaid for archguns: MORE MODS. We dont have that many, and there isnt much variety in builds for archguns. Arcanes would be nice too, to give people a reason to use certain archguns. Sure, rivens are nice, but that's really about all we DO have.

Thought of a concept a while back where archguns are buffed by your melee counter; when equipped, your melee counter is frozen and your archgun damaged is multipled by your melee count (×2-12). Keep the archgun utility timer, but it is up to the player to keep the melee counter active after the gun is stowed.
You could have some fun mods/arcanes like 'Each archgun kill adds to the melee counter' allowing the archgun to self-buff while making archwing melee more powerful too

Archguns should be op as fk. Arent they limited by ammo and timer? They should feel like Devil trigger in DMC. Limited time op weapon.
Archgun were supposed to be that moment of power and yet normal ground weapon are still more powerfull than those space battle weapon. It would need a drastic damage buff to actually feel the moment of power.

Here me out. Back then during the golden age of the Orokin, they were a spacefaring civilization. One of the reasons for their success in space travel/exploration, they had an advanced space fleet. Let's say DE somehow adds that or something similar to the lore of warframe, we can get 2 potential warframes.
1. An archgun qarframe with exalted archgun.
2. A sentinal warframe with an exalted sentinal.
Maybe the archgun warframe was someone important to the lore and apparently was the turret gunner or known for his/her skills with a turret and the sentinal warframe maybe could be based on the captain or a high ranking person of the fleet . The sentinal maybe helped the high ranking person in his daily routines and conquest of space and make the theme and skills around strategy and tactics and demanding respect. The sentinal warframe could be like a utility/crowd control/support frame. A mix between vauban and kora perhaps?
The archgun warframe could have an op exalted archgun but with the downsides of using an archgun, which is already the default archgun experience. This warframe could be some kinda damage/crowd control frame. Maybe a mix between Mesa and Yarelli?

Archguns need an arcane to get extra damage or something similar to the galvanized shot and condition overload. Wheter it is an arcane o making new versions of existing mods exactly like thay did with the galvanized mods

Before even watching: We need to invest more into Archguns, we need to stop and summon them in mission, and they've got limited ammo with few to no ways to replenish it while it's out. If it isn't AT LEAST as good as my Secondary, there's an issue... And no Archgun meets that bar. If it wasn't for all the extra we need to do to even get to use them, this'd be... Fine, if not GOOD, but it's just ridiculous as is.
After watching: Yup. I want to like them, the idea of summoning a gun from FUCKING SPACE and just holding a goddamn scifi equivalent of a chain gun like some super steroided Rambo is AWESOME, but the reality is about as good as goddam Sol Gate. Visually, audibly, they feel great to use, punchy and impactful and... Then you see the damage and wonder why you bothered in the first place.
If they really don't want to give us the mods and arcanes that make Primaries and Secondaries like they are, then we honestly need a MUCH larger damage buff than just 2x. Even then, that'd still leave a good chunk of Archguns in the dust, but it'd be better than it is now.
Also kinda funny that we both focused on them not even matching Secondaries, much less Primaries. XD
I really love the arch guns. They are so cool and the whole let me summon my arch gun after the hard grind before it. But then. Zero damage. And yeah yeah you can make some with it but let us be honest they suck badly. They should be by far the most op weapons. With the draw backs given. But ist is more like this. I sacrifice Mobility, ammo, and damage output for well nothing really.
not to mention almost all of the archguns at the moment are all bugged with volt shield have a weird hitbox around enemies kinda hard to show it without a video😅

Yeah, I dont even use an Archgun unless I have a Riven for it. ArchGuns need Arcanes, more Primed Mods and Galvanized Mods. When my secondary does more then ths heavy flakk cannon I call ftom the sky, there is a problem.
