No, the black bear is being predatory in nature. The climbing up the trees is a sign to show strength against its prey. This clip has been shown in safety courses on aggressive bears
I live on a mountain with black bears, like the one at 4:19. They're normally pretty curious but the only times they get aggressive is when either its a mother, you run away, or make eye contact. Otherwise they're scaredy cats. Here are some tips! Black Bears: If you ever encounter a black bear and yelling or making sounds doesn't work, Do not and I repeat, DO NOT turn around. Put your hands in the air and walk backwards slowly while looking at the ground, this shows that you're not a threat. IF you were to run, the bear would give chase as it might think you're a deer or other animal. Grizzly Bears: Grizzly's are super aggressive and expectantly even more so if they are mothers. If a Grizzly attacks you, if you have a backpack on drop to the ground and dig your hands and feet into the ground. Do Not Panic. Stay calm until the bear calms down and make sure its gone before you go to get help. Unlike the black bear, Do not yell. Speak in a soft, monotone voice and wave your arms to show you are human. If you have pepper spray make sure to have it out. Do not look it in the eyes either. I hope this helped!
100 percent. The major difference between the two animals is Black Bears are often scavengers, meaning they eat dead things so playing dead does not work. Black Bears are smaller but you have to fight them off. Brown Bears are so large that fighting them with anything less than a high powered riffle or warhead is simply going to piss it off more. With Browns or Grizzlies your only option is to play dead, protect your head with your arms and pray that it doesn't eat you while your still alive.

In regard to that last one with the 2 unarmed guys being trailed by the black Bear. They started to “run” for their vehicle when they got within a few hundred yards?? Isn’t that the wrong thing to do? That Bear would catch them easily right?
I have to admit, sometimes instinct trumps logic in that situation. I have been told, since I was a kid, if you see a bear, make a lot of noise and don't run. One summer I was living with my dad in Southern Oregon (Grants Pass to be exact), black bear country. He lived in the hills outside of town. I was walking on a trail close to the house, just to clear my head. I was about 50 yards from the house when I heard a rustle in a nearby bush (there was a small fence separating me from this area, the end of our property). I assumed it was a deer, but once the creature turned its head and revealed itself, through the clearing, to be a black bear, I freaked out. My first reaction was to run because I was terrified, so I did. Stupid move because once I booked it, I thought I heard the bear move through the bushes, as if he was trying to follow me. Luckily there was a small fence between me and the bear, I ran fast enough, and I was close enough to the house that I made it back without the bear catching up. I was lucky but it was still a stupid move on my part lol. Again, sometimes fear trumps reason.
@@cassieh5506 ….I’ll bet there’s a lot of stories like yours. I think [have heard] Black Bears 🐻 aren’t usually interested in humans. But…I’m glad your still around to tell the story.

Commendable that the hunters refrained from shooting the bear on sight and, bravely, allowed things to have an ending favorable for all concerned. The last men almost blew it by running the final distance to their car but, gratefully, the bear wasn’t hungry and had lost interest in pursuing them! Great selection of scary bears with happy endings❣️
Where is the scary part in these four encounters? All these bears are behaving normally just the second and last scenario show bears that can smell the nervousness, anxiety and fear in the humans and that triggered their dominant behavior. By the way all these bears approached so slowly that for a confident marksman they would have posed no serious thread even in case of an attack. As a retired fish and wildlife biologist I had hundreds of bear encounters during my 30 years of work in the Canadian woods and the two attacks where I had to kill black bears were much more sudden and happened within a few seconds.
I feel like the black bear wanted to be friends cuz he was playing with the trees and if he was mad he would have been attacked cuz he was close enough
Just goes to show, you either be armed or you stay away from areas where bears, wolves, and mountain lions roam. Better safe than sorry. I always wonder why people go hiking unarmed in places like Alaska or Yellowstone. Stupidity?
Canadian national parks do not allow firearms.... Plenty of bears.... Plenty of tents.... No issues.... Why are American bears more dangerous than Canadian bears ?
@@1badcrow463 and man, I see some of these videos where guys are filming 30m away while the bear is walking towards them. Seriously, they’re asking for it. Common sense is also a very useful tool that sometimes seems to be underutilized.

You don't fire warning shots when a grizzly is that close 🙄. No one can reload when it charges from that distance. The no.2 people weren't that bright eh.
Nice video. Thanks. When at Cades Cove, I have a large black bear pop up onto the path that I, a photographer, a few other people, and a small dog were on.. It walked passed us, about three feet in front of me (I could literally touch it, if I stretched out my arm). After it started making its way up the mountainside, I quickly turned around and started to quickly leave. Suddenly, it turned around and started chasing me. I had to face it again yet again, until it finally disappears back into the surroundings. Never have I been that close to a bear. That situation could have turned out so badly. All the other bear were just lounging on the mountainside.
Technically they are all a subspecies of brown bear. "Grizzly" came from the lewis and clark times where they described a big brown bear with a "Grizzled" look.
Grizzly and brown are not the same. All Kodiak and Grizzly are brown bear, but not all brown bears are Kodiak or Grizzly. Subspecies only. Grizzlies are usually smaller than brown bears, more aggressive, and don't let humans get as close.
Exactly they do no harm if you leave them alone but there are some idiots that they dont understand that when they are in bear country. They think they are so special that they have the right to shoot and kill everything that moves around them as if the place belonged to them.
#4 Climbing trees isn't the bear distracted by its environment. It is a threatening gesture of trying to look big. Basically, it is trying to get the humans to turn and run whereby it will overtake them and attack. A black bear doesn't want you facing him when he attacks. Also, that bear is smacking it's jaws. It is hungry. This is a predatory bear.

I know a truck driver who took his daughter out to the woods to play in the snow. As soon as he exited his car he saw a bear paw print, he said honey let's go somewhere else, GET BACK IN THE CAR. Wise man that truck driver.
If you're unarmed in the mountains. You deserve to be on the menu.
Can’t believe the stupidity of people these days
No one deserves to die, freaking psychopath, I'm not justifying the fact that they're stupid and that their deaths could have been prevented but hell no one deserves to die damn
You don’t have to be a fast runner, just have a slower friend! 🤗
Black bear: damn, I been trying to get ahold of you regarding your cars extended warranty
I notice the large gap between the two men that were running to the car. The fast guy in front chose his hiking buddy well
😂😂😂😂
Gotta give those 3 hunters respect for not giving that grizzly an Alex Baldwin special!
Story 2- Hunters, Much respect for how you handled that. Salute.
The guys at the end played that perfect !! Those Black Bears can mess you up pretty good !!
Wow, glad of the ending! You guys got some great footage.
The narration, horror music and the red circles make this video fucking hilarious xD
#3 was real lucky. They would have been easy food. One sniff and they were gone. All of them was scary as hell. Was fun to watch. Awesome video
I don't know why anyone would camp in a tent in Grizzly country
I have but I had a shot gun right beside me all night .
I wouldn’t be able to sleep!
never. unless i have my trusty flamethrower
Well electric wire helps and some tips how to camp in a bear country.
@@livetocreatetolive4593 What if it came close to your camp when you were sleeping?
#3 they are literally lucky to be alive , that is a fully grown grizzly 5 feet in front of them, no weapons no one two call, this could have easily been grizzly man part 2.
Number 4 the black bear associates humans with food and want these guys to give him a hand out.
Ranger showboating to a mother bear minding its business
America sees bear: run
Bear when see's russian people: run
Bears are beautiful.
Dangerous too
If you are going walking through the woods you better at least carry bear spray and possibly a hand gun. ( be smart before you end up being bear poop )
Absolutely. I've never had a need for it but the pros say bear spray is the better choice between it or firearm. I gotta believe 'em on this.
@@jeremyv4636 why not have both for safety ! Last if you are going to use a handgun you need to be properly trained at shooting at a moving target ! You may only get one or two shots, but I agree use bear spray first .
@@douglaslett7504 most definitely agree to that! Cheers!
@@jeremyv4636 bear spray will deter it but you also need a hand gun. You must have read a story of one man getting killed by a grizzly and later feasted by a black bear. They found a empty bear spray can a little away from his body. Bear spray won't stop full on charge.
I mean I live in a FOREST- so I have no issues people may think I would but I’m used to encounters with animals
Guy: Hey Bear, Hey Bear
Bear: Hey
@3:12 f-that! The Bear has straight up gone into crouching tiger hidden dragon stance ! That’d be my cue to exit stage left!!!!
When he said whoa bear i just knew the mother bear was thinking " da fuck you talking bout you in my home cracka" 😆
The last bear just wanted to play 😂🤣
Commendable that the hunters refrained from shooting the bear on sight and, bravely, allowed things to have an ending favorable for all concerned. Bravo👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 People in the other stories managed to do the right things, as well, with the key being not to panic. The last men almost blew it by running the final distance to their car but, gratefully, the bear wasn’t hungry and had lost interest in pursuing them! Great selection of scary bears with happy endings❣️
Bear bangers work every time
If your gonna be in bear country make sure you have your
Bear🎶 Necessities🎵
4:55 McGregor the bear:"Make me! Make me! Do somethin about it!"
Haha aim his “sniper rifle “ at the bear .
@Tara Dactyle it’s a hunting rifle not a damn sniper rifle
@Tara Dactyle
Just 'rifle' would suffice.
That last bear was like, “you know where you at homeboys? Whatchu got in them pockets playa?”
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
WHOA BEAR!!!!
Was that Timothy Oliphant in number 3? Lol "thank you bear... For not eating me."
That will definitely make you 💩 in your depends ! 🤣
Are there any non-anxiety inducing bear encounters? 🐻
Me- encounters a bear inches from my head in my own backyard
RUclips- let’s recommend her every single bear video from the last 18 years on RUclips
The only reason a black bear will follow a human like that is for a meal. Curious my ass, he was hungry.
Bruh
In the last clip It would have been something if the bear popped up in the backseat 😂😂
Wow that Black bear really was near. Funny how it jumped on trees.
Haha the black bear was obviously tame and thought you were his buddys with treats
I feel like the black bear wanted to be friends cuz he was playing with the trees and if he was mad he would have been attacked cuz he was close enough
I agree. He seemed lonely.
I love this narrator!
Worried about their safety?! They've got 3 rifles!
bolt action rifles. if you miss you wont have time for a second shot
@@Jaydoublyou if all 3 miss they don't need no guns and deserve to be lunch
LOL the bear was like these guys cant hit the broad side of a barn
narrator is so overdramatic xD
Had to stop the video straight away!
It isn't a regular situation to be fair
I love how the narrator in the second encounter calls dudes gun a sniper rifle lmao
@@1badcrow463 because Americans go provoke them
@@iwishiwasthomasshelby Correct...
@@1badcrow463 and man, I see some of these videos where guys are filming 30m away while the bear is walking towards them. Seriously, they’re asking for it. Common sense is also a very useful tool that sometimes seems to be underutilized.
Ummm because unarmed is the law in Yellowstone. It's the bears and other wildlife that belong there. We're visitors in their space. Bear spray and best practices, such as making noise, are all you take hiking here.
5:38 seems like this bear was showing them some tricks lmao he be like "Watch me i can do this"
It’s funny how people yell, “STOP!!!”
As if bears speak English 🤷♀️
Ppl don't speak "bear". We don't know the bear word for stop. Gotta say something!
Loi
“Hi bear, hey bear, thank you bear”
You don't fire warning shots when a grizzly is that close 🙄. No one can reload when it charges from that distance. The no.2 people weren't that bright eh.
There was like four guns there and only one was firing
i hiked in alberta with a dog.
I had no knowledge of the bear threat!
THANKS FOR THE WARNING JAN!
Dude left his friend behind .
They didn’t show the conclusion to that friendship.
@@mjef3695 His friend should have ran faster.
He is exhibiting classic black bear predatory behavior.
It is not a sniper rifle it is a hunting rifle and I’ve had way scarier moments with bears
Yup
Nice video.
That's why you always bring with you a very fat friend when hiking.
When a bear sees you he really sees a hamburger ready to eat.
Why would you go without a gun ?
Guns are illegal in some places.
HEY bear. WOAAAHH bear. Lol so apparently that’s what you do
That first bear was in fact a Grizzly bear, not a brown bear!!!!! Stop calling them beasts!!!!! It sounds ridiculous!!!!!
Technically they are all a subspecies of brown bear. "Grizzly" came from the lewis and clark times where they described a big brown bear with a "Grizzled" look.
Grizzly bears are brown bears.
I agree. Bears are stunning anomals. Let them live in peace and humans can be idiots .
Grizzly and brown are the same.
Grizzly and brown are not the same. All Kodiak and Grizzly are brown bear, but not all brown bears are Kodiak or Grizzly. Subspecies only. Grizzlies are usually smaller than brown bears, more aggressive, and don't let humans get as close.
New subscriber..."beary " cool vid...🐻🐻🐻
Bears do no harm if you leave them alone ❤️🐻
Tell that to the lady in Montana that was snatched out of her tent and killed just 2 weeks ago. Don’t be such a dunce.
@@robw6620 she was in bear country
Exactly they do no harm if you leave them alone but there are some idiots that they dont understand that when they are in bear country. They think they are so special that they have the right to shoot and kill everything that moves around them as if the place belonged to them.
@@iams2109 exactly! Poor bears 💔
Obviously you don't spend much time in bear country. Most will leave you alone, but not all. It only takes one.
The #2 bear instantly got high ground and one the 1 v 3 🤣
At least they didn’t kill the bear
Lmao the first two? The bears are just doing their thing lol
Your making bears sound worse then they are
#4 Climbing trees isn't the bear distracted by its environment. It is a threatening gesture of trying to look big. Basically, it is trying to get the humans to turn and run whereby it will overtake them and attack. A black bear doesn't want you facing him when he attacks. Also, that bear is smacking it's jaws. It is hungry. This is a predatory bear.
Rollover teddy bear and bark like a dog
Point the finger and yell sternly "SIT!!" If that doesn't work-spray 'em! Then get the secondary can ready! LOL
