- Acrylic Pour Painting with a Burgundy Vibe. This colour palette I choose based on Burgundy as my main colour. With hints of neutral metallics and some soft pink and purple. I wanted some negative space. I accidently hit the bottom with my swipe while tilting and it stuck in the composition. I'm still happy with the way it turned out. Burgundy is one of my favourite colours!

The colours listed were used to make the colours for this painting. I just kept blending colours until I was satisfied with the tone.

Where is the negative space? I don’t see it? Looks completely covered/painted canvas. Do you mean background color? I hear that term used inaccurately in another artist’s videos too. I’m just confused.

@@ArtsReallyCool123 Oh, okay. Background is different from negative space. Like the triangle created within the capital A, that's negative space. If that makes sense. It's an image in void when making/painting/drawing something. Gosh, I don't know if I'm good at explaining lol. Anyhow, that is a beautiful background.

While this is interesting, it isn’t predictable art. This is happenstance art. No real control or ability to make it into something certain.
Great work! Do you put the medium that creates the cells in the black that you used to swipe or is it in the colours that you pre-mixed?

Thank you. The Black paint is mixed with Australian Floetrol to get the lacing 😉

Hi Kathy, I mixed most of the colours myself to get the tones that I wanted. I've now added a list of what I used in the description. But can't remember the combinations and amounts. Hope it helps.

The Floetrol I have is Owatrol, made in France, please is it more or less the same?
@@srrs3562 I have never used it but from what I've seen on other videos it's a lot thicker. I'm not even sure if thinning it downwould help create cells. You might have to experiment or look up videos on using owatrol. Sorry I can't be more help.

The paint is added to pouring medium. It's about 1/4 paint used.

No I haven't. Would need to be a Dutch Pour I think 😉
@@fionascreativecanvas I don't know what that means but I would totally watch it! Longhair Torties are my favorite cats! I used to have one that had a perfect white tuxedo and matching sox with the little starburst tufts on her toes!
@@LaineyBug2020 a Dutch pour is when you use the hairdryer to push paint. My cat definitely has tortitude 😆 If you'd like to see more videos of her head over to "Fiasco cats"
What kind of paints do u use for a painting like this?
Acrylic paints mixed with a pouring medium.
Hi how do you stop the paint from cracking please
A few things I have discovered. Make sure you don't leave too much paint on the canvas. Use the same pouring medium for each of your paints. Use decent paints. Quality pouring mediums have a binder in them that reduce cracking I believe. Occasionally get cracks but not as often as when I first started 😉
