Wow ❤ whichever way you turned there appeared a vision of beauty. So much history. I loved the ancient buildings and cobbled streets and that lovely weather you had to showcase the wonderful town. Thanks Kevin and Steve that was a great watch 🥰
Lovely walk, from you two. Rye is such a pretty place, especially with its cobbled streets in the sunshine. Lots of beautiful timber framed buildings iv been there once, but that was a very long time ago.
The house with two front doors is the home of a modern day fictional genealogist, Morton Farrier in a series of novels by one of my favourite writers, Nathan Dylan Goodwin. The novels are all set in Sussex, the first about a patient of the Hellingly Lunatic Asylum which used to be up the road from me.
So much history in Rye and very quaint buildings. It is a shame more places do not have this level of preservation. A lovely summery video with all the beautiful flowers. Love sharing your road trip!
Pretty little video watching on 1st October wishing it was summer again. Rye is a lovely town. The Ypres tower overlooks the harbour and out to camber sands! A place with special memories for me as a child. Lovely 🥰
@claire76leach Thank you, Claire 😊 Yes, I think everyone wishes it was summer, although we didn't have much of a summer, really. Rye was lovely we really enjoyed our visit
I discovered Rye just a couple of years ago. Its a delightful town and where one of my favourite artists lived. i was there this summer and had a very good Indian lunch! Lovely to see it through your eyes, Kevin!
@andrewnorris2 Thank you, Andrew 😊. The town of Rye is really nice and there is so much history there. I wouldn't mind another trip there in a year or two.
Very interesting walk round. You went to a few places even I haven't seen. With the greatest of respect I must correct you about the name of the river. That was the Tillingham. The Rother is further over. The mill is false-well the wooden part is anyway, the earlier building being destroyed by fire in 1930. It was rebuilt, retaining the ovens from the old bakery, and other brick elements, and was again a bakery until mid-70's when it became a pottery. Now, as you say, Kevin, an interestting B&B.
Also for anyone who likes Tv dramas based on books, Mapp and Lucia which was filmed in 2014 was set in Tilling based on Rye and was also filmed there. Written by E F Benson.
What a lovely town, so much history and interest. Thanks for taking us all on your visit 😊

I am so pleased you are enjoying the videos, Rye was a really nice place to explore 😀
A very charming town. Lavender discourages flies so it is good to grow outside your house.
