  • In this week’s Friday Value Video, Eileen examines the concept of psychosomatic conditions and their potential impact on your mental and physical health.
Did you know that some of the physical or mental challenges you're facing might be psychosomatic? Psychosomatic doesn't mean that your suffering is "all in your head". Rather, it suggests that your mind could be influencing your body in ways you might not realize. Research shows that stress, intense emotions, and life circumstances can trigger chronic conditions, including psychosomatic illness and psychosomatic pain. In these cases, the illness, pain, and related medical issues are very real-but the key question is, why are they happening?
Dr. John Sarno dedicated his career to studying this phenomenon, which he termed Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS). He saw incredible success in treating his patients Similarly, Dr. W. H. Bates found a connection between childhood trauma and vision problems later in life.
You might be experiencing psychosomatic pain or illness as a way for your mind to distract you from unresolved emotional issues-fear, anger, or rage related to a traumatic event. Trauma isn't just limited to catastrophic events; it can include overwhelming responsibilities, lack of sleep, or not having enough time to relax. To achieve long-term wellbeing, you might need to begin by exploring and understanding your emotions.
To learn more about how to stop psychosomatic pain and achieve lifelong health, be sure to watch the full video.
