I'm a mechanic and with CARS after you put coolant you let the vehicle run with cap off to let air pockets out and to make sure it's topped off. Just my 2 cents.
And, to get the mixing Ratio correct; He should have filled it with Coolant, let it run, and then Drain it --- so that way the remaining Distilled Water is flushed out. Then, fill it with new Coolant, again, "burp" it, and then top it off... At least, that's what I'm going to do! - Gotta keep it 'Cool' (😎)!
@@johnathandoerty1021 what do you mean by "burp it" Johnathan? Im about to do a coolant flush on my bike and I want to do it correctly, if you could help my endeavor, much appreciate it.
I did these exact steps i filled the radiator until i couldnt the coolant went down lil bit i topped it off n put it in the reservoir, I let the bike run it went to 230 degrees idk Why tbh
You should have cleaned the reservoir out, I bet there’s gunk in it. And you shouldn’t have left over coolant for the R6 with that coolant you should actually be a little short
For a track bike this is one of the most in accessible bikes I've ever worked on its actually sad. No reason I should have to remove that much to fill my coolant
Steve Bush probably last minute upkeep to get maximum profit out of it Edit: after hearing the part about them being wrapped you are right they are definitely old vids lol
Thank you! 4 year old video, still helping R6 owners!
Keep coming back to BlockHead R6 maintenance tips. The close up of the parts worked on is much appreciated. Whats up BlockHead!

Run for how long?

@@hugoguimaraes9807 burp it means getting air bubbles out. Run it with the cap off and you can squeeze hoses to help get air out.
@@BayArea.R6 thank you for answering.🙏🏻
Hey blockhead I would like to thank you for helping me realize my passion for motorcycles.
Love these videos, literally teaching me how to do everything on my 08 r6!
Hey Blockhead, when you're pouring oil or coolant hold the bottle sideways. It doesn't spill as much ;)
watching you and bike n bird is like going to school bro keep it up .
What about bleeding the system though ? It must’ve had air pockets after
R6 has almost as much plastic as my Vette, dayumn :D Clear and well filmed destructions on how to do this chore though.
what about air bubble ?
at the end d'ont see when you remove air pocket
i'm an auto tech, but not bikes...do you not need to bleed air pockets out on a bike?
clear and to the point. good video

The service manual also calls for disconnecting the water pump inlet hose for a complete drain. Not sure if that makes a big difference or not?
Thank you for the informative video brother. I'm about to do mine this weekend.
I have an r6..very helpful thank you!
Saving us money. Much appreciated
What about bleeding the system. I let mine run and it constantly overflowed out the reservoir and I’m trying to figure out how to bleed the system.
Same thing here
Would this be the same for an 05 R6?
AWSOME VID... I THINK IMA DO THIS ON THE FATBOB
Sooooo much freaking fairings to take off!!
Do you have video on how to replace fork seal?
I see that sneaky 883 in the back Mr. Blockhead!!
What's the plastic reservoir for ? Is it for overflow? I never understood.
What temperature did your bike get to that the fans turned on
Mines got to 212 and shut off and fans cut on
How often do you flush the radiator and change coolant fluid
My coolant is draining really slow idk what’s wrong with it
You don't have to bleed the coolant system?
Great video
Your a professional who works on his bikes in his garage 🤣
Will this cause the bike to not start?

Thanks , this helped
Looking like the Grinch with them gloves lol

Was that concentrate you poured in? From my experience, the concentrate is thicker like you described until it’s watered down.
:42 you can see on the bottom of the bottle it is premixed.
What type of water
Save yourself a trip, get 2 engine ice containers. One isn’t enough for an 08 r6. Btw^^^
Hi my bike bubbling
Man..!! Your videos never work for me. Always take about couple of hours after the upload, before it stops giving me errors and hiccups.
Gotta get rid of these R6 vids fast. He's already bought something else. Lol
Steve Bush probably last minute upkeep to get maximum profit out of it

Shhhhh......
RUclips is already paying you, why are you asking for funds, this isn’t twitch 🤦🏼♂️
