14:00 Nothing about the tech sector would surprise me but a mate sent me a link to the P12 video (P12, now where did I hear that before? OK, PB12 video). I immediately went WOW 🤪😋😍🤩😯 and watched it, plus all the others I could find but the sounds on the videos didn't grab me except for the super poly aftertouch demos on one or two more subtle sounds. It's probably a good idea to watch some old Polybrute 6 demos to see what the basic sound of the instrument is because poly AT changes the overall sound A LOT.
Its good to hear your journey to synths. Polybrute 12 is going to be the GOAT. Moog seems kind of lame now, but Teo-5 is still appealing at the lower price point. Also already seeing Polybrutes for under $2000.
Haven't tried the pb6 in store yet. I am not in the budget for a new synth at all right now. But i might get the chance to try out a certain arturia soon, I'll try to really learn about it first... I like the idea to grow more veggies and fruits. I had a garden a few years back and plan on starting it up again this year. I'm curious if the percussa xmx will have the 8 voice polyphony of the ssp or not. Or if its oscillators polyphonically tune like on the tiptop art modules. The small screen may be a no from me if it's smaller than the wavestate screen. There's another baloran synth, out too. Not the pool which is cool but another one that looks pretty interesting! Love that bullfrog commercial. I need to check out the Daniel fischer demo. He's great
Looks lovely out there. I just saw that you can preorder the Polybrute 12 in the UK today for £3,430 for delivery at the end of the month. That is a lot cheaper than I thought. I think that is an awesome price!
The french have some of the most amazing synths of 21st century. You have these small one man companies who hand builds like Baloran with the River the only 100% analog synth including envelopes and LfO with partly thrue hole components (and now The PooL) , you have Mos-Lab who's reputation on the Moog replicas modular and now the ARP2500 purshased by Hans Zimmer for instance. Yusynth, NR-synth, Synthr, Kodamo with his FM synth and new Kodamo mask, ARturia of course, Mutable Instruments, Yusynth
Honestly, the Polybrute 12 is absolutely gorgeous. I nearly got the original one but didn't because I had other 6 voice synths. I love the polyphonic aftertouch (I have a Hydrasynth) but somehow some of the sounds didn't grab me, the basic sound didn't grab me except for some of the gorgeous tricks. I think some the demos had sounds with the filter too open!
You need to get something into those grow boxes; I need to get my tomatoes and peppers in forthwith. Onions and shallots are doing great - need to massively thin down while they are green onions still. PB12 is a very good full featured modern synth voice architecture - no surprise as PB6 was as well and it is basically 2 of those plus the swank keybed. Per key full range (with a split mode as well) "Z" MPE looks great and I hope Hydrasynth can add that via firmware. Still, to me that (plus the morphe pad and layer morph) does not get it to equal footing with Super Gemini. Those oscillators, filters, and dual live control surfaces = perfection IMHO.
Yeah we are growing all starts indoors at moment. Ton if compost and soil showing up tmr. Man its time for a hydra firmware upgrade now me thinks and the mpe is an aweome idea
@@synthsamuraiproductions starts are more effort than I have in me... I think there is a good chance velocity on Hydrasynth is a continuous sensor from resting down to start of AT. If so hopefully they can replicate the PB12 capabilities with a firmware bump.
Oh right i tried the murmex a few days ago. My synth store is so cool. Murmex has super nice oscillators i was impressed. Although i wasn't sure how to use it. Not my style but it really sounded good.
Still waiting on Acid V hardware version! Polybrute was not that exiting for the price, too modern for me, you know, modern cheese bleep and blops. But also i would love Impact mini from Arturia
Sooo much good news Yesterday! I own the original Polybrute and I absolutely love it but I also dig the beautiful new aesthetic of the new Polybrute12 and an extra 6 voices too, BUT the MPE is overhyped! The Polybrute6 already has after-touch, morphee, and ribbon, enough to provide immense expressive output and inspiration. MPE is the Mariah Carey of the synth world, can sound cool but often it's all self-indulgent wobbles and trills, I've yet to see a decent set using it and I've watched every Osmose video there is. On the plus side, folks might get the chance to pick up a second hand PB 6 as some folks seek to quell the GAS fire for the 12. Hopefully Arturia will be working on the Superfreak next and as Synth Samurai stated a midi controller with the mpe added at a reasonable price. watching BoBeats cover the new inverted minilogue also made me cringe at the level of Shillllllliiiinnng!
@@synthsamuraiproductions marketing is in charge at Korg just like Yamaha and Roland. At least they sometimes are allowed to make great designs unlike the other 2 who just recycle everything forever in different packaging.
The MPE demonstrations on YT leave a LOT to be desired. On a proper X/Y/Z surface like ERAE mapped to something other than just filter cutoff a lot of interesting avenues can be explored. Per note LFO rate & depth mapped to resonance, panning, ring mix, noise mix, etc. Attack to X, Decay to Y, folder to Z. Then you just explore sounds with finger placement/pressure.
@@synthsamuraiproductions great demo of both controllers with some iconic kit. Especially nice they took the time to explain all that was going on. IF you had the keyboard chops I could see leaning toward one of those. I like the Haken as you get X, Y, and Z whereas with the Osmose you get X and Z. I do not have such chops so the ERAE with its programmable surface was a much better fit for me.
Nice hat bro! Not sure about the price on the poly. I think it should be a little bit lower. I hope that they come out with bigger minifreak (The Freak) I still think the Arturia Matrix Brute blows away the MiniMoog or the Voyager! Arturia is now the New Moog of the 21st century!!!!!! So Superbooth starts tomorrow let’s see what happens. Let’s see if Moog actually releases the muse. The poly brute is nice however I’m being honest when I say this, it doesn’t impress me as much as some of the other stuff that we’ve seen so far. The after touches nice or should I say the poly after touches nice the touché style mod wheel extender whatever it’s called is nice. But again I wasn’t that impressed with the sounds. It sounded like every other synthesizer. I hate to say it, but I think my Behringer deep mind 12 sounds better. And that’s only $699.00 And I know the deep mind 12 doesn’t have poly after touch but the nice thing about the expressive Osmos is that I can play any with that, that has MPE. Not trying to be a negative Nancy here just calling it like I see it. I don’t know maybe we have to see more demos of it. I might check out some of the demos from the synth mafia. Bobeats has one see what he’s done with it.
The Polybrute 12 is a worthy upgrade. However, I'd definitely lose a lot of money on my regular 6-voice if I were to upgrade. My Polybrute would probably lose half it's value. It's still a worthy upgrade though. The Polybrute 12 does bring a lot to the table, especially with an improved keybed with polyaftertouch, MPE, and all. Hmmmm....Keep my original Polybrute and save up for an Oberheim OB-X8 or trade in my Polybrute 6-voice and get a Polybrute 12? Hmmmm..... I'm gonna wait until I get a chance to play the Polybrute 12 in person and hear how food it sounds. It's possible that it might give the OB-X8 a run for it's money. I already made an OB-style patch on my Polybrute that blew my mind. Wow, imagine that patch in 12-voices with stereo voice pan spread!!!! At this point, I don't even care about the Moog Muse anymore. It's gonna be way too expensive to even consider anyway, for me at least. The demos of the Polybrute 12 sound SUPERB!!!! I have to admit, this thing is a BEAST!!! I'm gonna wait until it's out in the wild and see if there are any bugs that need to be worked out first. Them again, most of the bugs were already worked out in the 6-voice Polybrute with the version 3.0 firmware. Let's just hope the MPE keyboard and polyaftertouch didn't introduce new bugs in the software (or even worse, defects in the hardware) that need to be fixed. Moog had to fix their aftertouch keyboard problem in their new Minimoog Model D reissue.
Oh dear, ot looks like the Polybrute might strangle the Trigon-6 at birth and some other polysynth offerings too, drowned like newborn kittens in a bucket. Do you know we had a neighbour who did that, instead of getting her adult female cat spayed?
Nice garden!👍👍👍
Cheers brother i update some pics as we progress
