My 2025 goal is to “shop my closet”. I am addicted to shopping for new clothes for every event. I work really hard to my money and I do not want to deny myself of experiences like traveling and social events. I believe in balance. I need to be responsible and I also need to enjoy the money I make.
Literally this! You deserve to enjoy the money you make it’s literally why we work everyday but a few areas can be cut back that you don’t feel you’re losing out too much ❤
Thanks for the video! I'm currently on month 3 of no-buy. I'm not committing to a full year, just taking it one month at a time. :) But you are so right...the more I see my bank account grow, the less I want to spend!
3 months is incredible!! Month by month is a great way to do it bcos there’s no expectation of lasting a certain amount of time so I might try it this way
There is so much food prep one can do in advance - and it is a fun way to spend time with a friend - roasting veggies and/or meat, making sauces, etc. And learning one recipe you really love to have as a takeaway once a week or once every two weels (yt has great videos on everything) within a few months you will have simple recipes that you love to eat.
this video is so insightful! thank you for emphasizing balance and living intentionally. i think i’ll do a “low spend year” where, for months that i know i don’t “have” to spend a lot of money (no birthdays/holidays, no re-occurring traditions that i value, etc), then i’ll stick to some “no-spend” rules. learning control over restriction is an excellent way to put it.
OMGEEE!!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! The comparison to the yo-yo diet effect was brilliant! I will definitely benefit from this retrospective!
Comparison to yo yo dieting sooo resonated with me-definitely have a binge-restrict kinda personality and could find myself falling into the same pattern with money even after healing my relationship with food!
Thank you for sharing your process, thoughts and advice. I said I was going to do one when I turn 35 (4 years from now) but we’ll see if I do it sooner.
Chrissie, I get what you are saying because I am a saver and I have a budget book, but in real life people don't do no spend days nore do they budget because I work two jobs and none of my coworkers have a budget book.
