I was stuck with a student version of Solidworks, what it takes about 20 minutes of work took me 4 months to draw everything in the plant given hand measured and everything. Wow, this is definitely eye opening and worth invest learning. Thank you for showing.
P3D is ok for modelling but orthographic generation and isometrics require a lot of manual editing to clean drawings up and present in a professional manner. You will find bugs along the way and have to find work arounds as well. I have used this software on numerous projects and found it adequate but not as time saving as my company hoped due to manual editing required to present drawings professionally.
Autodesk does offer all the features for Plant Design but they are not well integrated in single user interface. For Equipment design they have Inventor, for structures use Revit or Structure Detailing, For piping again a diff interface called Plant3D, and P&ID is also done in diff interface called AutoCAD P&ID. Finally a Designer have to switch over to many interfaces frequently in a day which is not really productive. Idea behind the SUITE is to sell more products in a single deal.

You can tell this person knows nothing about piping! Eccentric Reducer should be FOT! You should never put a connection (drain) on a reducer it should be on the straight run after reducer I have never seen anyone use hangers in this type of piping a piece of side steel to support! No support on elbow of pump? The good it looks like someone got the Iso program working well with min cleanup

is it practical or efficient for one engineer to do all of these modeling giving the time and resources? if so, how does he go about it?
