Maria is very honest. She declares herself an introvert. Great interview.
at 7:50 Di Stefano says "he's cute" and Maria "he has a beautiful voice". LOL
xD
I love everything in Maria Callas... very genuine, warm, beautiful and elegant, in addition to being the best opera singer in the world and for centuries to come.
Vision 20/20 you are absolutely right. She just was the best!
Not the best opera singer but the best opera actress. She was the first to indroduce theater to opera and this is why she became a legend.
@@lindseycarribean5113 Not the "best", you are right... Just the Greatest.
Great di stefano!!
Greatest lyric tenor of all times
Callas
La divina
ONE OF THE GREATEST TENORS Divine
People always emphasize the fiery strong aspect of Callas,
but to me she projects the most wrenching personal vulnerability, on stage and in life.
Honest people are always vulnerable
@@Gabriel-hs9mv the final concerts together as Callas and di Stefano... 2:22... I told them... they don't seem to appreciate :)
@@Gabriel-hs9mv not that honest
@@FLORIA2012thank you so much for enlightening me
DEAR Maria Very great
This was bar far the best Callas interview I've ever seen! I'm sooo grateful that you have posted it on You Tube. I think in this particular interview, Madame Callas was more open, more real, more relaxed, and more her "true self" than I've ever seen. And it really helps to explain all the turmoil, conflict, pain and tragedy that was her life.
It also explains why her Tokyo concert was the best of all her "Come back" Concert tour. She had nothing to prove, and no need for any pretense.
BRAVA, La Divina! Brava, Maria! We love and miss you!
Hi Art Danks, great comment. The critics killed her and for sure her voice was gone, yet the magic was there!!!!
Yes, Art and she was smiling the whole time!
I agree! She also seems most grateful and appreciative of the warm welcome of the Japanese. She praises their cuisine which I am certain they're very flattered. Both she & Pippo also the note of the people there being so interested in music.
You can see how relaxed her face is at this point in the tour compared to earlier interviews. She obviously felt better about the condition and improvement in her voice as the tour progressed. It's a near tragedy that she didn't agree to a really lavish production of Samson or Werther after these concerts.
Great Giuseppe Di Stefano
Lindo em muito tempo, é a volta da luz aos olhos da Diva Calas acho que a dificuldade do idioma a ajudou linda entrevista.
6:42 María Callas' very important message for the future: "Man is man...and a woman is in her place".
4:30 Another very important one (for the future as well): " it's not oratorio, it's opera..., which means theatre".
Fab n fun interview..thanx so much for posting it!!!
Maybee The Best partner in Ópera!
Callas had one said that she should have married Di Stefano. He looked and sang like a God.
sugarbist can you tell me where did you hear or red that?
I think they were so lucky to have had each other. Maybe they should have been together. I think they were in love!
I’m glad someone like my comment. Di Stefani had a nice wife & they were married a long time. I don’t know what happened there.
She also said she wished she could have sung with Mario Lanza.
Imagine the voices of their potential children😮😮
Eterna Divina

"You're not Japanese, you're too long!" lmao

Se nota que la pobre lo estaba pasando mal
😂😂😂😂
LOL... Di Stefano goofily going this far to sounding racist... so funny and naive... Maria half embarassed smiled... great content!
You can't compare them. it's more a question of a taste.
I DON'T THINK SO.
