One time pay vs perpetual subscription made the choice for me. I record in Wavepad for ease of use. I have Reaper for anything WavePad is missing.

I love your presentation in how you explain and make it entertainment. I can tell you’re passionate about voice imaging. I am a broadcast engineer, but started out on the talent side. Later I found I couldn’t afford to be a star. Still, I love playing around with editing and such. Thank you for taking time out to share your experience

Audition hands down. Its basically a stripped down version of ProTools, FL Studio, Abelton, LogicPro. The learning curve for Audition is very short but the features you can use with VST/AAX plug in is nearly the same as the larger DAWs.

Thanks for this video Peter. I’ve been using Adobe Audition for my VO work for 3 years, and love everything about it, except the monthly subscription bill. I recently saw your Wavepad training offering, and bought it, in hopes of buying and switching to Wavepad to save money.
After asking around, and especially after watching this video. I’ve decided to stay with Adobe Audition. As you said, it’s my “comfortable old sweater.”

Starting at 02:00 in your video, you state Audition doesn't do auto-split nor does it do speed up / slow down audio without pitch change. I know for a fact that it does, as I've used both. However, in my use case, I've yet to get the auto-split thing to work, and not sure I ever will. I use it for recorded church services -> MP3 files for cloud/web/USB/CD sharing. I've been using Audition since just before version 3.0, I believe. I absolutely hate the subscription model, but haven't found a free/cheap/non-subscription tool I'm willing to make the switch to yet.

You're right, it can speed up/down without pitch change but it's not convenient for "quick and dirty" playback in the transport area that doesn't save the audio in it's adapted form. Also Wavepad is far more convenient for splitting files in my opinion! Thanks, much appreciated! Have done 70% of your courses on Udemy , and learnt so much from you Sir , already making good money in the VO business , AU is what you suggested in the course earlier , but now we have options , the subscription is little painful, although AU is very voice centric S/W , but feel to invest in Microphones and Equipment's + Plugins - Learning more each day.

    APPRECIATE YOU~!
It's slow to read a 1Gb MP3 that I just want to cut (i left my recorder running after the interview.) I think it's listening to it! Like you said - to assess regions. What if I just want a quick edit? Load and then waveform generation? Don't answer me - let me flop around like a fish barbecue.
Got it done in about 5 minutes - click, shift-end, delete, save. DONE! Now to the tutorials because I CANNOT STAND 1) AUDIGY, SOUNDFORGE, VEGAS, etc. I have CUBASE lined up to learn but I need quick and easy.
