If you look at :16-:17 you will see that the uphill ski tips a tiny bit sooner than the downhill ski. The knees may not look A Framed, but it is sequential. This is not a criticism, it's beautiful. Just pointing out that simultaneous tipping of skis is a fallacy.
hi Jakob , i see you use two differente ski , first is S9 fis ( as desciption , and red ski sole ) and sencond is S9 shop version maybe ? what difference between them ? this video make me dream about to be able one day to curve like this.. thanks a lot
Hello! I'm currently looking to buy my first pair of own skis. I was wondering which kind of skis would be suited for this style of skiing. Does anybody know? I would assume Race Carver with a radius at around 15m .. ?
Hi Bennet. Nice to hear - Nothing better than having your own skis. It all depends on a lot of things, and there is a lot of opinions about what to buy. I prefer a ski like you mentions - a race carver with a radius around 15-20m. and with some good bindings for piste skiing. Regards Jakob
Jakob Skov Thanks for the answer. I will try out a slalom ski once again. Did it once and succeeded in the end of the day. I had new boots and was new to this type of style. I will give it another shot this year:)
This guy is on a perfect pitch run, with perfect snow conditions, with no retarded snow borders lounging around all over the place smoking drugs getting in your way, no beginners with rented skis traversing the hill all spaced out like zombies trying to kill you as you ski by, no snow making guns blowing hot shit in your face fucking up your goggles, no massive skating rink size ice spots sending you for a death dive, no hot ski bunnies distracting him from his turns, and he probably didn't have 4 beers at lunch either. Ya, if I had all these prerequisites met, I'd ski just like him bro.
Beautiful turns. You’re doing everything right except your hands. Your arms are too wide and your inside hand is dropping too far to the inside. Get those hands up and closer together driving down the hill. Other than that, looks great. Your feet are right on the money with smooth carves and good transitions between turns. 👍🏻
You also seem to ski a bit less aggressive in this video ruclips.net/video/doFI2wDZLtw/видео.html than here, perhaps the snow conditions differ a lot. But overall fantastic form even among the top skiers from different countries. Big fun.
Beautiful turns. Glad to discover who you are. I used a clip of you in a video comparing ski carving technique with snowmobile carving technique. Couldn’t credit you, sorry, as I didn’t know your name at the time. Anyway, I added you to the description and hope you don’t mind. It’s here if you want to see: ruclips.net/video/K23AJGb4_2w/видео.html
0:10 This is what skiing is. 1. Do Not think about turning. You do Not turn. You want to go straight down the hill. Your skis turn as designed when you do the following and WHY, it will happen. 2.. You balance on your arches, one after the other like standing on the pedals of a bike and pedaling fast. Get off your right, get off your left. 3. When you want to start the next turn, you stop the travel of your upper body across the hill and put it back in the fall line. "I want to go straight down the hill. Plant my right pole down the hill, lean down the hill from the kneecaps up and get off my right foot." 4. You were balanced on your right arch but now you are not so you start to fall down the hill. When you stopped your body from crossing the hill, your feet continued out from under you which changed your leg angle and falling down the hill rolled your feet over onto the opposite edges. You are now balanced on your left arch. Think of taking a wedge out of a tree. It will fall over in that direction. 5. You do Not think about steering your feet or bending your knees sideways. The position you put your upper body in is what changes the leg angle. Think of your kneecaps as headlights and point them and your chest down the hill when you get off your downhill arch. 6. You regulate the radius of the turn by the amount you put your hip into the fall line and how much you put your knees forward which puts more weight on the tips of the skis which bend more and tighten up the turn radius. Notice I didn't mention any meaningless words like Flexion, Extension or Pressure.
Some of the best looking carving on youtube. The people want more!
I just had to play that over & over again to watch true perfection!!
The best carving turns I have ever seen. Pure magic.
Skiing aside, the filming of this video is outstanding. It greatly enhances the result.
Superb skiing, smooth and precise; my dream is your reality, way to go!
One of the best carving video of youtube with servotec Atomic ski and full red clothes. Absolut wonderful!
That is a beautiful transition right there
Yes perfect carving. Because the snow is very high quality and equipments are very good.

Painting on the snow!!!
Such a flow, so smooth. Please post more :)
I really like that skiing! The transition is that I would see everywhere! Why did'n we meet in Pamporovo? Sorry about that! See you in Levi!
Dat edge angle!
Probably one of the best carving on a skalom ski I've seen, worldclass. hat off 💪
Thanks Stefan. That means a lot!
@@JSkov85 , question: how do think/act with the innerski , I have some issues here ?

Good skiing. Love to see more video from you, also on gs (30 meters) ski's.
Mega fedt Jakob, clothing from Atomic
理想の滑り。最高に素晴らしい。
Great movie! Hope to see more :)
There is no other word. Great!!
КЛАСС 🙌!!!! очень красиво !
I like your turn.
watched 100 times.
no A frame beautifil.
Now I try to do this, sometime A frame and lose out side ski pressure in turn completion.

Great technique. Congrats.
WoW! Nice!
Thanks Caco - Means alot..
Why do you always have open terrain. Try this in Courchevel at Christmas or New year break. But thank you for the demo

Jakob, beautiful skiing. Can you tell me the brand of your ski suit? Tks
Martin Jean Thanks, means alot. Its from Atomic, next’s years skiset. Revent GTX :).
Perfection! ❤
Thansk alot klauspolo..
Fantastic skiing! :-)
Are long turns easily possible on 165 ski?
Yes
Nice turns!
Great turns, Jakob!
Thanks alot Janus!
Me: HEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!! I can’t stop my skis....😫
How to learn to ride like this?
Perfect, except the right pole plant needs to tucked inside the body just like the left pole plant. Then perfect symmetry. Bas.
Atomic-man! ... 😀
Good!!!! What are your ski boots ?
Thanks Georgi. It's Atomic WC 130 with plate
Jakob Skov what is plate, Jacob? I also have we 130 redster
A plate is a ski boot lifter... 3, 4, 5 or 6 mm, depending on your progression... only for FIS ski boots.
I would give my left ball to ski like that!!!!

Nice!
Great skiing ! What are the 2 skis you are using ? Thanks and keep up the good work.
Thanks Valérie. It means alot.. Its a 181 X9 Atomic and the race department S9 165 cm from Atomic. Ill try to make some more videoes this winter.
what the boot?
Really nice turns mate. How long is the ski compared to you? Will you benefit for having shorter ski if you wanna carv and go low?
Thanks a lot! I'm 180 cm. so X9 is a bit longer but the slalom is normal 165. The X9 is almost as easy to edge and bend during the turn :)
Jakob Skov Thanks for the answer. I will try out a slalom ski once again. Did it once and succeeded in the end of the day. I had new boots and was new to this type of style. I will give it another shot this year:)
I want to be able to do that. It looks so easy but when I try it, I skid out. :-/
