Absolutely LOVE hunting outta my Chapman pirogues using about 20 Spanish Palm branches that have stalks about like 2 by 4's and easy to be as mobile as possible.Water-swatting aint a bad thing and I have done it and many years ago had a flock of four true black ducks soar over my well-hidden Chapman blind and they separated into solos and the ONLY shot I had was a water-swat of over 40 yards and the end result was maybe one BB puncturing the eye of true trophy black duck drake that I had mounted via World-Class taxidermist,Kevin Hynes/Just few weeks ago,water-swatted two ducks, one a trophy drake mottled duck that had NO idea where I was tucked behind solid wall of Spanish Palm branches and less than a minute later, fine hen ring neck showed up and waited til she cleared dekes to water-swat her,two extremely clean one-shot kills!!!Can't wait to get boat back but she most likely will not be ready til well after waterfowl season ends BUT specks getting HAMMERED just bout everywhere!!!Thanks for sharing ya vids and some folks call water-swatting "skillet" shots!!
Hey Nate! What's the make and model of those pirogues you guys use? Also, did you say he " Dale Bordelon'd those ducks? With no pellets in the head " . 😂😂😂 Mentioning the "Bayou Beast " himself!
Ya know ya a die-hard when ya gets a text from one of ya favorite duck hunt padnas and he wants to know if ya in TOWN!!This am,on my way to our Ponchatoula Wal Mart Medicare kiosk, got a text from one of my most passionate duck hunting buddies and he is inviting me to join him TOMORROW think it may be an EPIC hunt,as long as we can safely get out!!Had to break through ice in one spot,re-launched at Chef and busted up 2-man limit-might be virtual carbon-copy!!!
I like how you and your friends hunt to provide and keep relationships going my way in ND it's just people bugging and buying off farmers and chasing limits and bands I end up hunting squirrels rabbit and anything that's legal I can get on while walking public lands it's why I watch your channel y'all in Mississippi and Louisiana are the toughest southern people when it comes to the survivor mindset as a hunter gatherer
As a kid my dad still employed the ole market hunter type of life to and extent I know that's all been out the window for years by that point as I'm 39 this oct. But if he hadn't we mightve starved when I was a youngin. We'd pack the freezer with ducks and coots hogs and deer. Fall was what we waited for we'd fish and hunt to fill our 2 freezers. Then we'd fill the old timers who raised my dad and helped raise us. Then we'd just go out sometimes no gun just to go sit in the blind or stand and watch the deer and ducks 😂 but once we had our fill we wouldn't take a bird more ppl would offer to buy birds all the time sometimes we'd go back hunt if they paid for enough but we never hunted just to kill it was always for the most part to survive. I've seen some youngsters kill tons of coots and just leave them floating makes me sick. Cuz I ate untold amounts of coot in my time and I don't believe in just going out and killing them for the hell of it.
hey, love the vids and just wanted to say i am a 14-year-old and soon will be making my first solo duck hunt. If you have a tips, they would be very helpful.
Definitely be safe! Don’t put the wind in your face if you can help it, use shadows to hide (sun at your back is best), take your time and learn, don’t let yourself get over-excited or you’ll miss the excitement. Good luck.
Up here in Wisconsin they would crucify you if you shot many on the water lol, turkeys are shot in the air too or running southern WI they do drives for turkey, I don't care either way but I like most of them to be flying at least ducks , but I've known people that do a mud chicken hunt to so they get swatted lol
Well guess me and my fanatical duck hunt partner decided to opt out for a possible duck hunt at his Chef lease.Pretty sure the roads and bridges were closed in an abundance of caution-here in Mandeville,we got at least 5 inches of snow and I just took some time to dump probably about 5 inches of snow that had accumulated since about 3:45 am til just bout noon.Hope by this week end everything comes back to normal-where are the global warming alarmists,NOW!!!
Love your hunts and the commentary that goes along with your hunts. Well done and keep em coming!

Weve got the same problems with nutria in Germany. Its crazy. Everywhere. They keep coming even if you shoot over 100 every year in a 500 acres area.
💯🔥always on point
