Glad you enjoyed so far Los Jaivas. Mira niñita is the type of song that you have to learn sometime at school, at music class, singing it or playing it on guitar, flute or xilophone. It's a common lullaby too or be dedicated to children for parents when they are born. That's the impact for generations this band has in Chile and all of us. Hugs

May I sugest "Hojas de te" from "Los Tres"... the guitarist in that band, Angel Parra, is, imo, one of the best guitarist. The other members are also amazing

Las trutrucas al ser hechas de madera de caña y de un cuerno de animal, son únicas, los sonidos de estos instrumentos grabados en el album de estudio, ya no puedieron ser reproducidos igual, pues esos instrumentos ya no existen y existe otro que es parecido pero no igual, pues no hay una caña exactamente del mismo diametro y forma que otra, por lo que da otro registro, eso es curioso.

I’ve been watching a bunch of reactions to Los Jaivas and first time I heard someone compares this theme as a lullaby song 😊
The “latinaomerican guitar” you heard is called “Charango” and yeah, it’s a small 10 strings (grouped on 5 pairs) kinda guitar frequently used by musics from north Chile, Peru and Bolivia (tradicional andina zone).
Fun fact: original charangos was built used a quirquincho (from the family of armadillos) back. Today, due animal protection laws, it’s ilegal to do that, so it’s entirely built in wood.
Finally: please pay attention to Kuervos del Sur. They also mix latinoamerican rhythms but more oriented to hard rock. The flute gay also plays an electric charango by the way.
