Yeah I was here long before Journey came together. 65 years young. Larry Bird did it for Terrs Haute in the 1985 play offs against Magic. What a legacy to follow Richard.

As a life-long chorale singer, I had the privilege to sing with the beloved John Rutter in London, and then with him at Carnegie Hall. I've been a Stay-at-Home-Dad for the past 16 years to two adopted girls. While those things have special meaning to me - it is Mr. Goodall's singing that is now encouraging me through some very tough times. I can't wait to hear more from him!!!

In the day 15 of June 2024 my mother passed away at 92 yrs old and every time i see Richard Goodall video i cry because life is full of happiness and sadness at the same time.

Mr Richard is a living proof that the look isn´t what it´s about, it´s your voice. My only regrett is that he waited so long to come forward and I thank the students where he´s working for pushing him to apply to AGT
I saw this live, and also have seen other reactions over the past 6 weeks, so, like most everyone else, I already knew about the Golden Buzzer. Guess some people weren’t aware yet. He will be back in August for the semifinals.
This isn't the first time Richard went viral. First was in 2022 while performing this song at his school. Steve Perry and Journey retweeted his video.
When a person can raise a song in their moment singing it and you in this moment with them sense nature perfection the feeling shared it kept forever a swelling of joy !
I remember the other Janitor that made it Big. His name was Cliff Edwards. We all remember him as the voice for "Jiminy Cricket". He was singing as he was mopping floors at Disney studios when they hired him.
I love the way you analyze & listen his voice. There are some people (who "know people in the music business) on RUclips who are saying this is just a karaoke song, his voice isn't unique that it's a commen voice. They are saying that anyone who sings this song sings it the same way. He doesn't understand why everyone is giving him all these reviews and all he'll be able to sing is cover Journey songs.I have watched you as well as several other vocal teachers reviews of him & they are very positive and explain his tone,, his notes and the way he holds notes & so on. I am dissappointed in how people judge other people these days. Maybe his next performance be different or have a different tone. Thank you for clarifying & helping understand an inside look at what a great voice this man has.

Thx for the reaction. It was awesome for a vocal coach not to stop the video every 30 seconds to give ther input . I normally don't watch videos from vocal coaches cause just can't get out of there way to not be the most important thing about a video. Vocal coaches are talented for sure but your a vocal coach cause you weren't talented enough

You’re lovely and this is a great reaction! That said, it COMPLETELY ruins it to have you share the most joyful moment of the whole video-his golden buzzer-BEFORE you watch his performance. You take away the excitement of the judges reactions and the spontaneity of the moment. It’s like somebody telling the punchline of a joke before the joke has fully been told, or reading the last page of a book before you’ve actually read the book. So you already know the outcome. That’s just MHO.
