Hi! Really really good reaction, and beautiful shirt! I subscribed! Perchance, do you like acapella? Have you ever listened to a group named Voiceplay? They're outstanding, and so entertaining! They're part of the RUclips Trinity of Acappella, Voiceplay, Home Free and Pentatonix. Voiceplay are the "theater kids" of the three. Voiceplay's bass, Geoff Castellucci, is in a league of his own, and has a solo channel too! He also plays the piano, among other talents. I think you'd enjoy the group and Geoff alone (all male voices you hear in his solo work are him, and every male character is played by him as well). I've yet to see someone who isn't impressed by them. And I've been following them since the late 2010s. Just trying to share the love! 💙

Everyone forgets that those of us in our 50s and 60s were going once! We're 80s kids! This is just one sample of iconic songs from our teenage years that lasted forever. I remember when it was released. I was 11 years old and loved Steve Perry! Richard wasn't a 55 year old man in 1981 when this iconic song was released. He was a 12 year old boy, with his Radio Shack 80s boom box, discovering music as a 6th or 7th grader.
What Mr. Richard isn't telling everyone is that he is a Widower who lost his soul mate back in 2021. Most widows and widowers lose themselves in grief. He never stopped believing in life after loss. He deserved that Golden Buzzer for many reasons. I can't wait to see what he does next. Sooooo good.

Goosebumps every time I watch Richard Goodall being introduced to someone new! Simon's jaw drop and big ol' Terry Crewes (known in part for playing tough guys) jumping up and down like an excited kid...SERIOUS "chicken skin!" It usually bugs me when the audience sings along and doesn't let the singer shine...but in this case, he exploded with talent with his first note! I would have been singing along too!💙

@@robinnagel3684 What an amazing example of how to work through grief through music and belief and here he is giving his gift to US - we are truly blessed
To be honest, I’ve watched numerous videos about Richard and his remarkable singing talent. Many people seem to be deeply moved by his performances, even to the point of tears. However, I’ve found myself questioning why this is the case. There’s no doubt that Richard is a skilled vocalist. He could easily leave his day job as a janitor, join a cover band, and successfully perform all of Journey’s hits on tour. From my perspective, it seems likely that Richard has received some level of professional training. Given his mastery of Journey’s songs, I suspect he’s been practicing them for decades. He certainly didn’t develop his skills overnight. As a music student and vocal enthusiast, I believe Richard is indeed talented. However, I also believe there are many other undiscovered vocalists out there who are just as gifted. In my view, vocalists dedicate their lives to honing their craft, constantly practicing and expanding their range. Based on what I’ve heard from Richard, I’d guess he’s been doing this for quite some time. If I were in a cover band, I’d definitely want him on board to perform the hits. In fact, I’m surprised he hasn’t landed a record deal yet, given his talent. The moment I heard Richard’s first note, I knew he was a genuine singer. I wasn’t surprised at all. I’ve encountered many humble, unassuming individuals who, despite not seeking attention, possess professional-level singing abilities. In conclusion, if Richard can deliver performances of all the greatest hits as he did with this one, I don’t see why he wouldn’t come out on top. But remember, this is just my opinion😊
Thanks for all your thoughts! I feel that AGT was started to find amazing people like this. I know sometimes people change after gaining such popularity, but I suspect Richard will stay humble 🙂
@@JNCPiano Hi, thanks for the comment.. While Richard’s humility is commendable, it’s not a prerequisite for success. Having been acquainted with numerous singers and cover bands, I’ve observed that Journey cover bands are quite common. Richard’s talent is undeniable, but his style isn’t particularly unique. His proficiency in emulating Steve Perry is impressive, but it’s a skill shared by many cover bands. The challenge arises when these bands attempt to perform original songs in their own style, which often falls short. Had Richard performed the song in a different style, say Frank Sinatra’s, he might have been criticized. By choosing to sing in Steve Perry’s style, Richard may have inadvertently limited his own artistic growth, as he’s now expected to maintain this style. The question that arises is whether Richard has developed his own unique style over the years. While it’s possible to train someone to imitate another singer’s style, the true artistry lies in developing one’s own voice. Unless Richard can demonstrate his own style, his journey on the show might be short-lived. As for me, I’m just a RUclipsr who enjoys pretending to be a rock star.
