Yes, they make a lot of money but they typically don't get rich until they leave politics. $200,000/year isnt much when you have a massive mortgage in a city centre. That being said, if they live in a low cost area they're doing pretty good. But they're also doing a pretty high demand job. Cabint ministers anyway. Backbenchers dont do much. Take Nicki Ashton. She makes 200k and lives in a tiny house in Thompson that she paid like $150k for. She doesnt even go to question period. She just works from home.

In 2019 a total basket of goods that cost $100 now costs over $116 based on the CPI data. The average Canadian home spends approx. $67,000 on goods and services annually. With the 16% increase in costs that equates to $10,720 per Canadian household in additional costs compared to 5 years ago. A two month freeze on GST has an estimated household savings of $558 dollars. If you also include the $250 per adult fed rebate coming in the spring. A two adult household will get back $1,058 or 9.9% of their total cost increases. Don't be fooled, this is an election ploy.

All the snow flurries that suddenly has a change of heart about the Liberals, just wait till the 2 months is over and food prices are triple and the Carbon Tax increases. That means we can expect to be paying $2.00 or more a litre at the gas station. Pierre Poilievre 2025 let's go, you have my vote.

A Good Question: Will the government track whether companies don’t raise prices so that savings benefit consumers? Of course not. Free market capitalism doesn't play that way. Welcome to "cost savings" that fatten corporate profits instead.
