4:30 Graydon was right, they actually lit a guy on fire for the Wish You Were Here album cover. From Wikipedia: Two stuntmen were used (Ronnie Rondell and Danny Rogers), one dressed in a fireproof suit covered by a business suit. His head was protected by a hood, underneath a wig.

The Supertramp album is just genius. The Statue of Liberty-diner lady, with New York being made up of cutlery, plates and coffee cups. Great music too. (Dignan is holding me hostage at a playground in rural Switzerland)

You guys are incredible at improv, love when you guys do those bits! I didn’t appreciate that “Rending” segment though, the blood covered the camera so I couldn’t really tell what was going on beyond the harrowing noises. Resubscribed

Another great detail about the supertramp cover is that the diner waitress is actually a stand in for the statue of liberty (her pose with the drink over her head is just like the torch and it’s position in relation to Manhattan)

The reason the caroline polachek album kinda feels like the 70s is because the photo was shot on the Bakerloo line, which is by far the most 70s-looking tube line
The Yachty cover was made by Jon Rafmen using AI tools. He uses a very involved process to deliberately exploit the flaws of the technology to create uncanny or frightening images I’m a huge fan of his work and its kinda annoying that a lot of people dismiss art made with AI tools as being lazy when it depends on how you use the technology. The AI itself is just a tool like a camera or paintbrush.

16:50 in mario oddysey mario can through his hat at enemies and transforms into them adorned with a hat and mustache. This mechanic is called capturing which is why babytron used it because he got captured

Video idea : tier list or bracket of rap verses in pop songs , eg. Kendrick Lamar on bad blood
I like the Heros and Villains one cause there is more than what you see (idk i am having high thoughts rn) for example, the shape of the 2 metros makes a M, for (Metro) also the two metros represent the Heros and Villains who shake hands (peace symbol) so they work together like the artists on the album, who represent heroes and villains throughout, work together

I think the reason that the Lets Start Here. cover works is because the distortion in the faces give an inhuman feel and takes full advantage of the uncanny valley to give you a visceral reaction to the executives on top of any intellectual distaste. Imagine the same album but a normal picture or painting. Not even close to the same impact

No idea if this could be intentional but the king's disease and the gold could be a reference to the story of the "midas touch" a king that asked a god that everything he touch would turn to gold, and it ended up being a curse and stuff, or the gold probably signifies the lighting and the person who took the photo
I could be wrong, but is 10k gecs' cover intentionally a spoof on American Gothic? Gives a lot of similarities, and it would be a pretty cool reframing of it

I wish the Bobby Caldwell niece story was the case but im pretty sure the actual story was that he had originally intended to use a regular picture of himself as the album cover but he was told that if people knew he was white no one would listen to it so instead he used a different picture of himself that he really liked and had it edited to look like that
