This is so beautiful, I had a crappy day at work today and this just washed it all away, I am also lucky enough to have tickets to see this talented young lady on the 21st of May in Truro, Cornwall. I really cant wait
Yes, my attention was drawn to how perfect her hands are. Her hand positioning is perfect classical form. Her hands look so relaxed, like all great musicians.
Thank you so much for the hard work which it must have taken to acheive this materpiece for the classical guitar. You interpret it most beautifully as appropriate to such a heart rending story. I hope that one day you also get to play duets. PS Daekun Yang is an excellent and highly empathetic player too?
@Andystonemusic It is true that classical guitar technique "forbids" the type of bends that other guitarists (blues, jazz, etc) do, especially on an electric guitar. However, nothing prevents one from attempting it. It is just a little bit more demanding (if one wants to respect the other aspects of the piece).
Butterfly Lover should full of Joys Happiness Exciting and Sorrows. With light and heavy , slow and fast beat. But..... this Music play by Guitar , oh ... all lost !
this is like how stanley jordan changed the guitar: it's like something ilie nastase once said after playing against bjorn borg: "We're playing tennis; he's playing something different."
Truly lovely :) but I think I prefer to hear a Guzheng, for one a classical guitar can't do the string bends so well. Or wouldn't that fit in with EMI?
It originated from a chinese love story told more than 1500 years ago, in the story the couple both turned in to butterflies, its like romeo and juliet to chinese, but with a happy ending. its a classical chinese tune
The original melody is from China's southeast local opera, the type is called Yueju (越剧) . Although the editions composed for violin and orchestra are much more popular in China.
I am so impressed with the quality of the Chinese classical guitarists. So beautifully played. Thanks so much Xuefei Yang

thanks for all the great historical fact about this famous orchestra music "Butterfly Lovers"
Tabssssssssssssss ! :(
sounds a little weird when playing this piece on classical guitar...
If she would just learn a few vibrato techniques ,it would elavate her playing to another level.
这不是梁祝么!!靠,咋叫 butterfly lovers呢。。。。 翻译的真差劲!
化蝶後不是蝴蝶恋人吗。
