Spending five minutes telling people not to watch if they've managed to avoid the trailer is rendered useless by that thumbnail
Lmao
And the first few seconds of the video...
captain spoilers has returned!
Exactly. This channel infuriates me sometimes. But I already knew the twist & already saw the movie before watching this. I loved it
@@chanelhenderson8460 yeah korey can get real bad with it sometimes. Hes the "casual spoiler" he doesn't reveal plot points but will say how a sequence plays out or how someone dies and it's like bro you're still spoiling very important parts
The movie wasn't centered around a mystery in figuring out the vampires. It's a good old fashion monster-slasher type movie driven by the drama between the characters trying to survive. It doesn't really matter that much that you find out that the girl is the monster because the movie really only starts from that point onward
They said "UTOPIA" with so much pride and certainly. lmao 😂😂😂
These 2 said Utopia instead of Euphoria 😂
I like Abigail’s expositions. She was super charismatic. I was actually rooting for her.
Yeah, we're getting back to the Freddy Kreuger type of killer, where you're like, "Dammit, you're evil, but you got personality!"
The little girl who plays her is absolutely adorable 🥰
It works in context of the movie itself but the movie itself also didn't need to try to be as overly complicated as it did. The directors tried to throw twist after twist because they kept wanting to play with audience expectations but you honestly really didn't need all that. The movie would have worked perfectly fine as simply a film about a gang of criminals trapped with a vampire child that abducted trying to use to extort money. There really wasn't any need to overly complicate the plot. With that said for the movie we got the speeches by the actress playing Abigail are good and work well because this movie isn't scary at all it's more funny then anything. This film felt like someone taking the basic format of From Dusk till Dawn randomly switching from Crime film to Vampire movie and making it more like a silly Sam Rami horror comedy B camp movie. Unless your really young I can't see how this would scare anyone it's intentionally campy and knows the inherent premise is ridiculous and fully embraces the fact it is ridiculous and never asks the audience to really take this silly thing that seriously. With all that the movies first half was great then the final twist at the climax comes out of nowhere and largely makes little sense in context of the movie. It really felt like the directors did not know how to properly wrap the story up in a satisfying way and that they really couldn't decide what do to with Dan Steven's Character because despite him being and asshole the actor is charismatic so they in order to justify killing him it's almost like they said screw him just make him the main villian.
All told, the part of yhe trailer where Abigail was basically like, "Im not trapped in here with you, youre trapped in here with me." is kind of what convinced me to watch the movie.
Kevin Durand looks like Elon Musk after he took a shitty version of the super soldier serum and then snorted a mountain of coke.
I don’t think it was intended to be a plot twist guys
They did research and found that more people will watch it if they know the premise.
I think it was fun to see how long it took for the crew to figure out what the audience already knew.
Beat thing about Dusk Till Dawn was Selma Hayek🤩
Yes
Those black girls must’ve been acting like Brenda from the first Scary Movie.
That's exactly what I thought of
M3GAN VS ABIGAIL
That's what I was thinking.
The dream fight we'll never get.
My money is on ABIGAIL she'll rip
That robot up.
@@nehemiahpouncey3607 The same goes for me. Sorry M3GAN. You're good, but Abigail's better.
M3GAN vs Abigail vs Laura / X-23
The Matrix. The trailer was one question, “What is the Matrix”? We went in not knowing what to expect.
The ordinal trailer for “The Exorcist” was just Father Merrin illuminated by a street lamp accompanied by Mike Oldfield’s signature tune “Tubular Bells.”
I remember driving in L.A. and seeing the billboard for "A.I.", that movie about a robot child with Jude Law. But the poster was nothing more than the silhouette of a boy and a teddybear. Genius.
Right. I remember that back when. Movie always freaked me out as a kid lol
It was called Dracula’s Daughter (it was a loose remake- in name only- of the Universal Monster movie). And the constant use of Swan Lake… yeah it’s a Dracula movie.
Ngl, that makes is sound more fun
But the father doesn’t look like Dracula. Since when did Dracula have spiked hair?
@@biguy617he's a business mogul
I mean, From Dusk Till Dawn did the same thing. They showed the vampires in the trailer.
Webqlready knew it was about vampires but this showed amain character
That show/ movie is all about vampire's
This movie is about mystery
No. From Dusk till dawn is a crime thriller for the first half, it only becomes about vampires in the second half @EmperorDxD
I’m on the opposite end;
The first half wasn’t that good
But I’m happy it changed at the halfway mark
For a movie like this you expect something bloody and supernatural much like Abigail
Yeah, but there was hardly any internet in 1996, nobody saw that trailer 😂
What might've worked for the trailer is to let it be known something is in the house going after people but don't show what or who it is. It can be edited where Abigail knows about the creature/entity but gives the impression she has gotten used to it and how to evade it or it doesn't hurt her but will others. Kind of like Aliens in a house.
It will show the more unique take of a kidnapping gone very wrong with a supernatural and horror spin to it. Shows it's not just a kidnapping movie and is a horror without revealing the "twist".
Just watched Abigail.
Also watched From Dusk Till Dawn this week. My local cinema showed it Monday night.
I enjoyed both movies.

She's incredible
She was in Lisa Frankenstein
Yeah I was introduced to her in Supernatural and I'm so glad she's getting roles in the horror community!! She's great.
I remember as a kid when I saw the Gremlins movie trailer on TV, they were very careful not to reveal what the creatures looked like, not even Gizmo.

Gabo. Is. Coming.
@@nehemiahpouncey3607I think WB are testing the waters to see if Gremlins is still popular enough. Using Multiverses, the Gremlins cartoon and that rumoured Gremlins/Scooby Doo crossover film to gage it
They didn't really show everything in the trailer. There's a lot more going on the movie that keeps it interesting.
It's still a plot twist. Just like the John Connor twist in which one was it? The 5th or the 6th?
And from I have heard the 2nd trailer gave away the entire movie. Very shameful!
@@oompie815 It's not a plot twist, it's just the premise of the movie. That reveal happens barely 30 minutes in.
@@RUclipsHandleEtc. Okay. It's not a plot twist. You win.
@@oompie815 No it didn't though. It is a major plot element yeah but it comes out a third of the movie. There's still plenty that happens.
@@oompie815It’s still a surprise that was meant to be a surprise even if arguably it was part of the premise. Yeah, she was a vampire as part of the main plot, and it’s not like the big ending, but it looks like that was part of a big surprise.
I cannot in good concious say it's not that abigail is a vampire. Its that these characters have to survive with abigail who IS a vampire
Maybe she talks more to lower their guard since she still looks like a child. It's part of a vampires lore that helps get their prey.
I find this movie to be in a similar position as the first Predator movie. The trailer (and in Predator’s case the first shot of the movie) gave away that there was a alien in the movie but it still worked because it’s not about the Alien itself but how the characters handle the situation and how they will die or how they will survive.
Great example!
You are correct but it still would’ve been nice to go in expecting a crime movie and get a horror
Agreed!
The characters made the movie great, not "the twist".
Most production companies cant never keep things a secret. Thats why i like the Alien Romulus trailer so much. I think even Terminator 2 as great as that movie was spoiled the plot twist like 10 seconds into the trailer 😂.
That's why I hope Deadpool and Wolverine don't release another trailer. The teaser is good enough
We already know what the Xeno looks like and what Facehuggers do there's no mystery in that anymore, it's more about if it's gonna be good or not
That was only a _teaser_ trailer. There _will_ be at least _one_ more trailer for “Alien: Romulus”; one that _will_ reveal a lot more.
@@HeartlessMoogle9711 I'm not saying they should have shown the aliens. I just want them to not show much at all
That Alien Romulus teaser was just that, a teaser. They will spoil a lot more once a trailer is released.
I'm pretty sure the selling point of the movie beyond just the cast and abducting a little girl is that she IS a vampire. I don't think that was meant to be a secret.
Exactly 😂 idk we're tryna say it's bad that they marketed that
@@SmootchieWallace-vl7wdI mean, sure, if you’re looking at it just as the trailer, then yes, maybe they shouldn’t have revealed Abigail is a vampire. However, if you’re like me and look at it from a marketing standpoint, that’s exactly what you should do!
@@wolfhunterplays3954 agreed. They needed to market this way to get people pumped cuz it definitely worked for me. Sure the subtle hide it approach would be cool but business wise that can be hit or miss. Fire movie
@@SmootchieWallace-vl7wdIt definitely worked for me! This movie wasn’t even on my radar until this week. I just watched a horror movie trailer I saw randomly on my page, saw it was about a group of kidnappers who kidnap this little girl not knowing she’s actually a vampire, it’s made by Radio Silence, and Scream 6 is my favorite Scream film!!! I’m all in; I’m hoping to see it Sunday!!!! PS: I also watched Ready or Not a few days after I saw the trailer, and I really enjoyed it!
@@wolfhunterplays3954 you'll really enjoy it. It definitely delivers what you want
Kevin Durand was the scene stealer for me. The dude's comedic timing was on point.
The Abigail clips will be use for like

Not sure how I'll work.
But they'll try.
If I didn't see that trailer, then I probably wouldn't have seen this movie. Also in my theater there was a guy who would jump in fear everytime something startling happened, it was hilarious.
This movie is 9/10 for me. I love Melissa Barrera so much and will support all the movies & tv series she's in
28:24
Whenever Joey was walking through the hallways of the mansion, i also was reminded of Resident Evil 1 and 2.
Dan Stevens never fucking disappoints! Loved every second of him in this
Agreed!! Can't wait for Cuckoo! More Dan Stevens means more happiness!
Look I'm a Black woman and Korey imitating the ladies who you know didn't shut up in the movie cracked me up.

I think they could have done it like Ready Or Nor - the trailer was just people hunting the bride. They did not hint at the deal with the devil element until it is revealed in the movie.
They could have done the kidnapping, murder, and vampire in the trailer, but not state that it is the girl. I would have been happily surprised if they had done that.
Like Martin, I like the first half more as a heist movie with interesting characters. The more they got into the vampire story, the less interesting it got.
I enjoyed Ready Or Not, I didn’t know the details going in.
Saw the movie today, had nothing else to do and because the weather was so gloomy
The trailer didn’t bother me, you know what you’re getting into
Melissa Barrera, Kathyrn Newton, Kevin Durand, Dan Stevens, and newcomer Alisha Weir
It's essentially a reimagined version of the daughter of the prince of darkness from the 1930s
The filmmakers do lots of nods to the old vampire tropes of old most notably using the orchestra from Swan Lake (the same score used in the 1931 black and white film)
And there's lot of stuff with the vampire mythology that's changed but also kept the same for lovers of the genre
The film takes a good 30-40 minutes to get to the supernatural parts; it's a shame though because Abigail's carnage shows up in spades It's kinda hard to like all these characters and the movie does slow down a lot to try to give them some depth
I got chuckles but not too many big laughs
The film is an hour and 50 min too long and really could've used some trimming getting to parts faster
It’s fun but there are narrative shortcuts you can't help but notice
Who's the real monster?, who's the real one trapped in a cage?, for a parent the most important thing you can do for your child is show up
The best part of the movie is the little vampire girl herself by Weir; she gets her jollies toying with her victims appearing innocent but also sadistic and there's even a part about where she explains why she enjoys what she does for centuries
Melissa Barrera is the best thief here being the most reluctant player of the bunch having intelligence and resilience also having a reason to pull it off
There's also a deep redemption story in here mixing crime thriller with creature feature with a dash of Agatha Christie elements
Plus there's no shortage when it comes to the blood and gore
This was good but could've been in great in many other respects fixing a few things
You can tell though Oplin and Gillett are having fun with this material showing a classic Universal movie monster for this day and age can still work
I feel like the trailer is just more set up the premise of the movie, then spoiling everything, I mean, as long as the final movie is entertaining and a good time that’s all that really matters
True.
Yeah, but there’s some stuff that really shouldn’t have been shown in the trailer.
Without saying too much, the ‘outcomes’ of your main characters probably shouldn’t be shown in a trailer lol.
The big Canadian guy was in a vampire show called “Strand” he was good in that too.
Lost & Smokin’ Aces too
I liked Kevin as the Angel Gabriel in Legion with Paul Bettany.
Got back from seeing this movie today and it was the bloodiest, most twisted, craziest vampire movie I've seen in years.
Definitely a Full Price movie
Like to see her and that girl from
Cabin in the woods fight.
Agreed.
I haven’t seen it yet, is she more creepy than the vampires from 30 Days Of Night?
@@jelanitarik7423 Not quite THAT creepy but don't be fooled by her innocence

Angus Cloud's show was Euphoria for the record. Also, God rest too of course.
Even knowing the plot twist this just looks fun. Personally, without knowing what the plot twist was I wouldn't have wanted to see this
But what would you even put in the trailer at all if they didn’t have the premise in the trailer? People being trapped in a house? The movie is named after the girl.
I wouldn't saying that showing everything works. Most people who saw the trailer probably thought that it just showed the premise, not the plot twist.
Though Terminator 2 did it and was successful, so it depends. I still think the movie would have been much better if they didn't show the original Terminator as the good guy.
RIP Angus! To live and die in the Bay. ❤
How are you going to complain about the trailer for the movie spoiling it when the thumbnail of this video is spoiling the movie.
I like going to rowdy movie theaters especially horror movies playing
This is why I completely quit seeing trailers and actively avoided them during the marvel era. Going into a film completely blind is just amazing.
I hope Deadpool 3 doesn't have another trailer. The teaser is good enough
@@tylongkicks8821 thanks for letting me know it’s out so I can make sure I don’t happen upon it.
Same. So many trailers nowadays are so spoilerific. Even when Double Toasted do mild spoilers in their reviews and somehow don't reveal as much as trailers do.
@Oonagh72 marvel movies are predictable. Deadpool 3 - cameos, sarcastic jokes, his get get cut off, we get more jokes until his feet grow back. Wolverine dies and Deadpool saves the day.
@@jool7793 predictable or not I want to see it unfold in the theatre, not in a two minute trailer.
I'm not sure how they could have promoted the film in way that would hide the fact Abigail is the main antagonist.
I mean they could have showed people running and being killed by someone or something without showing who the killer is and kept people intrigued on who Abigail is or what is she while not showing her until you go see it giving people that holy 💩 moment once you see her and what she is. They could have done it that way but who knows if they would have worked tbh
They did research and found that more people will watch it if they know the premise.
But how far does the premise go?
Showing that Abigail is a vampire is enough. They didn’t have to literally show the outcomes of their main characters lol.
Does “ready or not” from 2019 count as a similar vibe to this movie in the sense that you kind of got a flavor of what the movie was about hence why it was fun to watch in theaters?
RIP Angus 🥺
26:29 I thought I saw her from somewhere just to realize she was the main girl in Detective Pikachu
I have a theory that since theatrical releases have to compete with prestige television and streaming they have to put more in their advertising. It's why I literally close my eyes/ look down when the trailer for a movie I want to see plays.
Wow, it’s really something knowing that Martin and (…I’m so sorry I forgot his name) never saw the trailer this movie. RUclips couldn’t stop reminding me that this movie was coming out.
Same man 😂
The other guy is Julian.
I let a friend know not to watch it. I saw a trailer that even revealed a huge moment at the end. And after the movie I showed her the trailer and she went "oh yeah I would have been pissed if I saw that trailer". But even tho I knew two things that would happen, I still had a great time!!
I watched the movie yesterday and it was one of the best movies I’ve seen all year
But to be fair, I only saw about less than 10 seconds of the trailer when I saw the girls a little vampire and I turned off the trailer straight away
And due to that, I enjoyed the movie a lot as I didn’t even know why they were trapped in the house in the first place
Radio Silence directed the last two Scream movies, not just Scream 6.
Vampires are coooool peoples😂😂
Did you know that KOREY 😂
Going tomorrow...looking forward to it...hoping it's good!
It is, mr Lynguist. Worth your money and your time.
I feel like you guys are confusing a premise with a plot twist.
Maybe but at the same time a plot twist can happen at any point in a movie.
The premise is built up to for like over 40 minutes and with the little hints of what may be happening it would've been better as a secret plot twist but that's my opinion
What? Be suckered into watching a trailer meant to fool you and then get ripped off by buying tickets to watch garbage? This No Spoilers thang has gone too far.
There's a movie from the early 2000s like this - where group of people kidnap or are trying to kill a guy who turns out to be a highly trained killer and takes out the group one by one. I can't recall the movie name. Anyone know it?

Still very fun and entertaining, though!
So these guys see more movies than me...but NEVER saw this trailer ?? BS it played in front of EVERY movie.
Hey they probably got lucky😂and didn't see it
Abigail was pretty good to me as a person who doesn't love horror.
Barbarian is the most recent example I can think of where they kept MAJOR secrets and the payoff of not knowing was massive.
Pretty sure it was a financial success too
Ill say, for me at least, the trailer is what got me to see the movie. The premise of a kidnapped little girl being a vampire and hunts her kidnappers is so out there that I wanted to see it. The fact it was by the people who did Ready or Not was even better.
I'm not sure I would've checked this out without the trailer. I might've thought it was interesting and caught it later on VOD.
So while I agree trailers shouldn't spoil everything, in cases like this, it was done wisely because it got me to buy a ticket. That being said everything said in this review is totally fair and I can understand Martin and Korey's points about the last twenty minutes.
Kory got it wrong about From Dusk till Dawn, I remember the old tv spots did reveal the vampires and even the trailer for the movie revealed it too.

To be honest, I haven't heard of this movie until this review.
yall talk about the trailer spoiling to much but then you use that picture on the thumbnail?

OMG, you completely failed to mention they used Swan Lake in the trailer! In case you didn't know, Swan Lake is the only music used in 1931's Dracula! I'm looking forward to this!
Omg omg omg.
Yes. Radio Silence did the last TWO Scream movies.
Angus cloud sounds like a mix of Nate Diaz and Mac Miller and looked like Mac Miller. Lol
Im so glad u loved it
Thank you.......I walked in to From Dusk to Dawn with no clue it was a vampire movie and it was great. This movie looked like Taken until the fangs came out
Abgail > M3GAN.. Abbie was lethal!!
I heard some critics compare the marketing for this film to how the movie "Red Eye" was being marketed, as that film could not be marketed as a romantic comedy because at some point Cillian Murphy's character becomes very threatening and menacing and hence the marketing of the film HAD to give away the plot twist and indicate that the film was a thriller so that the people who expected a romantic comedy wouldn't tell other people not to watch the film after their expectations got turned upside down. Hence, why some trailers to films involving a twist give away the twist and ruin the plot because there is plenty to enjoy even if you do know the twist.
The girl reveals herself to be a vampire fairly early on in the film so this is part of the initial premise of the story: kidnappers are in over their heads because it turns out they are being targeted by the vampire. We know what awaits the characters even if they don't. That's the point. Knowing the twist takes away NOTHING from my enjoyment of this film.
It's funny you criticized Abigail having dialogue and would have preferred she be feral, because another RUclips reviewer said the exact opposite about the feral performance of Barry Atwater as the Vampire in the original TV movie The Night Stalker. He wanted more dialogue. Personally, I thought Atwater was scary as hell as a feral vampire.
I would go watch it and avoid the trailer had you not spoiled it in the first 5 seconds of this video. Tell your editor to watch the contents of what he's editing and this wouldn't happen. I know Korey or Martin didn't edit this RUclips portion of the show because this wouldn't have happened. I'm a bit irate, only because I value Koreys and Martins opinion a lot and if they tell me to go watch the movie first and to avoid the trailer then I'm gonna listen and do what they say. The editor completely messes up the sequence of things by showing the trailer with the spoiler in the first 10 seconds and Korey would tell us later in the video to avoid it.
People that talk during a movie are the most trifle of people. They can not respect anything at all, not even the money they spend. The worst.
***SPOILER here*** Why did they put her in the cage though? They had her!
I enjoyed the movie very much. The last 30 minutes were dragging though (spoilers: after she is locked in the cage) and the twist at the end was predictable. All of the characters did a great job, none of them were forgettable.
*HIGH MATINEE*

Cool bro I’m in Pyongyang. You got any food?
Great film, really enjoyed it for what it was. But anyone who's ever smelled a rotting corpse knows that that house with like a mass grave's worth of rotten corpses dipped in water would smell so bad it'd set anyone living inside a 5 mile radius to gag depending on which way the wind blows.
Some other little nitpicks about how people handled wounds (esp. Dan Stevens) but I won't go into spoilers. Overall great fun though
I didn't even think of it as a twist. Going in knowing she's a vampire makes a better perspective to me.
The problem is that Ready or Not cost 6 million and could be marketed smart but Abigail cost 28 million and they probably thought they needed a vampire movie up front. Didnt work, though, because Abgail is good but will not be profitable in theaters. Might do better aftermarket.
Can we not act like its a bad thing they show shes a vampire? Thats the point of the entrie film and there is no other way to market it. A girl ballerina vampire gets butts in seats. I agree its awesome to go in not knowing but its not gonna do as great without marketing that
That's the basic premise of the movie. Not a spoiler
I am so excited for this movie. A stellar cast and a fun story!! I'm a huge Dan Stevens fan so I can't wait! My friend and I are seeing it this Tuesday!!
Edit: LOVED IT.
Just saw the movie today before Iwatch this review wanna leave my own. The flick was original there was a twist or 2 that I did not see coming there was one thing that did not make sense, but at least it was an original idea. Who summit but with vampire lore. Spooky but a lowkey comedy too. Solid matinee
The worst part is that there were plenty of scenes they could've used to make people think the mercenaries were being hunted by a vampire version of John Wick.
Another good Better Help slip into conversation 🆗
The show Grimm did a really good version of this story with one of the character's daughter.
I didn’t expect the guy bringing the kidnappers together was a vampire too. I was wondering how the first death happened. When it was revealed he was a vampire, I knew he did the first death.
First and second deaths i thought happened because Abigail sneaked out of bounds.
I absolutely loved Abigail, imo it was a very good film, but I’m not going to lie, there were a few instances that I’ve changed.
For me the film starts to go down at the point Rickels was murdered.
I’m not saying that he shouldn’t have been murdered, but it happens way too soon in the film.
I thought the reveal of Abigail happened way too soon, that could’ve waited perhaps another 30 minutes later in the film.
Another thing that I felt should’ve been changed.
I didn’t like the way, how they flipped Frank and Abigail.
It’s almost like the writers forgot how the film began the first hour.
Initially Frank is a victim at the start, like the others and Abigail was the killer, then they just flipped the plot on the fly.
Look, no one is a bigger Melissa Barrera fan than me, shit I’m boycotting Scream 7, due to her firing, but I didn’t like how the writers changed Joey character on the fly either.
Joey, was a criminal the first 1 hour or so, then out of no where, they turned her into a heroine.
I know Joey is a good girl deep down, but again she is a criminal, they flipped both Joey the criminal and the murderous vampire Abigail personalities on the fly with Frank.
Believe or not, despite all I wrote I think Abigail was very good, but could’ve been put together better in other places.
I knew the makers of Ready or Not made this! Even the trailer gives that kind of horror/comedy vibe. I wish they had shown a generic threat in the trailer similar to Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness (even though I have major issues with that film).
I have a friend who is greek & she talks like those ladies at the theater "Girl..." I'm like, who do you think you are, Sandra Clark?
The “plot twist” is most definitely not the fact that the girl is a vampire…that’s called the plot. Just saying.
Should've took notes from Barbarian for the marketing.

I disagree with Martin in that the first half was a bit slow, with the second half being pretty great. Maybe this is due to me seeing the trailer a few times, but I knew that she was a vampire.
Loved it as a whole though!! Definitely an 8/10
There's was no way to sell or market this movie without it being known she was a VAMPIRE. Knowing ahead of time is what me want to see it.
