- It turns out that getting into the Rolls Royce brand is more affordable than you might think. In this video I visit Rolls Royce Bristol and take a look at a Pre-Owned Ghost that is in the most amazing condition. For the same money as a new Mercedes S Class you could own this king of the luxury limos with 2 years servicing and warranty.
A big thanks to Bradley at Rolls Royce Motorcars Bristol for inviting me to come and drive this beautiful car. He would be happy to answer questions and enquiries about this and other new and pre-owend vehicles.

One of my favorite memories is when I was off the interstate and this beautiful Rolls pulled up next to me at the gas station. I was so admiring the car that it took me a couple minutes to realize that the guy pumping the gas was Muhammed Ali. Really a gentleman, who had a chuckle that it was the car I was so excited to check out. Actually I think it might have been a refreshing change for him.
well done !!!! what a great video ,just as perfect as a Rolls Royce, elegant and masterful and very informative
Fabulous video. Unbelievable value for money. Thanks . Oh and to have the word Goodwood on it as well. Im selling my house now!
Thanks Richard. Good luck with the house sale !!
Really enjoyed your video. That car looks brand new! Thanks for sharing.
It was stunning 👌
Thank you for allocating the time to create the video! What a genuinely exquisite car!
My pleasure 👍
Hi Ped I thought that was an inspired topic to cover. I remember about 3 years ago I bought a 1 yr old BMW535d M Sport for good money only to find a 5 yr old Bentley Conti GT Coupe with less than 30k miles for onky £500 more. I was an inch away from an impulse purchase until her indoors shared her always correct point of view lol. Did make me think though if that's the best way to buy top end cars. great vlog as always Ped.
Glad you enjoyed it. You always need to get 'her indoors' to sign it off !
Superb review. if i sell the wife and three kids i can have one!.....thats illegal? denying me such beauty is a crime itself in my book. Awesome elegance, many thanks for the insight
Maybe you could try EBay !
How true were your words regarding the bulk of depreciation having already happened. October 2021 and these Ghost's are still fetching a hefty price, in the region of £100k.
You can get them now in 2024 all day long for $50.000
I will buy one in my my 50 birthday for sure. thanks
Hi Peter, this car symbolises the one thing that stands out in my mind and should not ever be forgotten the very best of British Engineering back in the day prior to BMW taking ownership don’t get me wrong they have done ever so well but it’s grass roots are here on British soil and I for one are very proud of RR. As you say for the money £120k you could spec a RS6 performance and it could go over that amount and take a massive hit on deprecation as soon as it leaves the showroom but Peter a very good video and your correct it’s food for thought when spending £100k plus on a car as ever Best wishes Alan B.
Thanks Alan. I always look forward to your comments and I'm glad you like this one. I little bit different for me but what a super car :-)
Petrol Ped Thanks Peter I think your being a bit generous with your kind comments as what You tuber looks forward to my comments you must be the only one of a very few. Best Wishes Alan B
Very enjoyable review of a magnificent automobile. I have a Shadow and it is interesting to see some similar styling cues reflected in this model. Looking forward to seeing more review. Cheers from St Petersburg Florida.
Thanks Charles. Glad you enjoyed it :-)
I'd missed this one, but what a thought provoking video. You have a habit of doing this Peter! This really does emphasise just how special Rolls Royce's are. Rolls or Uber Saloon? No contest. Unfortunately, even my 'man maths' can't make the numbers work for one of these, but we can all dream...
I too collect my first ever Rolls Royce tomorrow (06/10/21). It's a Ghost and I am SO looking forward to the experience....
Great video just excellent! Blessings!
Thank you 🙏🏻
The Ghost is a lovely auto, one of my cleaning ladies has one.
LOL !
What an idiot
Mr. Washington why
Thanks for a really good, well made, sensible video, Almost all reviewers of top people’s cars tip-toe around the topic of cruel depreciation. You didn’t. What is perhaps worth noticing too, is that the depreciation on a RR Wraith looks actually even more savage than on a RR Ghost. So, if one were lucky enough to be looking in this area, the RR Wraith might be a more fun alternative. Thanks too for pointing out that with cars like these a long (approved manufacturers) warranty, together with a deal on servicing, dilutes much of the suppressed anxiety of hugely expensive things going wrong which is always in the background with cars like this.
Depreciation is a real challenge with these cars, and I agree it's something that people often try to avoid :-(
awesome car , my 2015 S550 I paid $29.000 for , has all those options as well … if you’re in the market for used luxury vehicle , depreciation is your best friend 😊 … you can pick up used Ghosts now for $50.000 all day long …
Mercedes s class is the best value used luxury car
Your thinking with regards to buying S class or RR is completely correct. Plus you’ll feel like you’re driving something special.
Love the production values! Background music made me think I was watching "Harry Potter buys his first RR".
Thanks. If I was Harry Potter I would magic a RR for myself ;-)
Thoughouly enjoyable video Peter, what an amazing vehicle.
Cheers Nick :-)
Hi P.P. I bought a 2010 Lexus, LS 460 L awd.It wasn’t a hybrid model, I didn’t want. It is maxed out with executive stating shiatsu massage seats. TV between the rear seats With modern technology into face,,, countless features including lane to depart, Steering assist, this distronic radar cruise control, Self-leveling air suspension, double glazed laminated windows. The cars purchase price was 140,000 Canadian I got it for 30,000 with 80,000 km. It’s like new. Similarly the interior is immaculate showing no wear. The Lexus will last reliability for 470,000 km. This is my third. 20 years minimum maintenance. I have a maxed out LS 430 2001, which is great running beautifully. I have my eye on a phantom next but the extended wheelbase are rare . Or Bentley Malzahn extended wheelbase. Those are stratospheric cars for the super rich so I can’t touch them until well after a decade but I still love them so three cheers to you guys in England motor on.
Cheers Buddy 👍
Hi another very good video well done.
Thanks Richard, glad you enjoyed it :-)
Love this video and a great angle to hook people in. A good mid-week 180 question, what car depreciates the most over 1 year percentage wise?
Tune in on Wednesday...I'm using your question ;-)
Petrol Ped haha nice one!! I’ll send my invoice through shortly 😉
In about a year I will be really interested in a similar deal on a Phantom. Thanks so much for this great insight.
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Awesome Video, congratulations ✨
Thanks, sadly I didn't get to drive it home !
A lovely video I enjoyed fantasising about owning it then I wondered how much does it cost to insure.
WOWOWOWOWWOWOWOWOW ROLLS ROYCE IS A ROLLS ROYCE. NO ARGUMENT AT ALL. MY DREAM CAR. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL LUXURY CAR. JUST WOWOWOWOWOW !
The interior is beautiful.
A unique and very interesting video, Pete. Well done! 👍🏻
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it :-)
WOW....!! That felt like I was driving with you . Hmmmm.....and that value proposition makes real sense . Truly enjoyable vid.
Cheers Ed, that is great to hear :-)
Peter very happy for you. Beautiful car!
Thanks Robert, but I didn't actually buy it !
Nice video 😀
Nice one Peter, this is a bucket list drive for me!
They drive SO well Chris !
Ghost is the smallest of the Rolls Royce, correct ! Amazing car and that’s the best way to buy a car like Rolls Royce, let others take the depreciation.
Wraith is smaller
Stunning piece of craftsmanship and engineering.
Indeed 👍
My husband suggested for me to get one of these! I can't wait till he buys it
😂😂😂
Even as an eight year old pre owned a lot of people aren't prepared for the maintenance and repair costs to keep it running like it should and looking like it should . Brake jobs costs thousands and if you need to replace the adjustable suspension..your looking at close to 20k. Sadly many of these cars go to shit with the second or third owner because people don't plan or realize you can easily spend 10k to 15k a year for upkeep.
Very true 😥
It does NOT cost 20k for air suspension lmfao more like 6 or so.
Amazing video
Cheers Ron :-)
What gorgeous car 🤤
If you had bought it, well you gave that impression on the way to the dealership, was your intention. I noticed you had a gallows' laugh, a nervous laugh. Your logic was good. I am guessing you did not have the income or the savings to be able to make the purchase which is no disgrace. Be comfortable with yourself and you will get over thinking the car you are in, makes you any better or worse. Famous people always thought they were lucky to meet me, not the other way around. May you live long and prosper. Then you make the Rolls a reward for making it possible!
Peter, great video, a former friend of mine sent it to me. I use the word former, as I've just bought a brand new BMW 750M Sport with an identical sticker price, which I suspect is why he sent me the link. The Ghost looks exceptional, and yes I'd rather be driving that. I would point out nobody in their right mind would pay list price for an S Class or a 7 Series though, I got £35k off mine. Still doesn't make me feel any better about my decision.
+Mark Robinson Hi Mark. How interesting. I’m sure your car is stunning but this Ghost is certainly food for thought 👍 Hopefully you will forgive your friend soon 😂
someone is salty
also all new bmw is shit
i have a wraith, and i know the thing is a bmw 8 series underneath
Nice car, great video, working in Bristol I see these being tested as well as all the other supercars from Supercars of Bristol. Interested in asking what you use for recording, what is your equipment you are using please?? Have already subscribed to your channel.
Hi there. Thanks for the sub 👍 I actually made a film about all the gear in use. Here is a link 😜
ruclips.net/video/ZwwKNLqLTEU/видео.html
Smart video ☺️
I work and live in the UAE, I'm seriously considering to get a 2010 GHOST. Price? in GBP asking 73.000 which is 95.500 US$.
The car got 60.000 Km on it, no warranty, full dealer history. Zero paint zero accident.
Not with the Night Vision neither Adoptive Cruise Control.
S500 and BMW & series USED, costs about 20% less with similar conditions/Km.
Question is, after 5 years the car will have any market ? ☺️ how much you will loose in % when you resell it again?
Repairs and maintenance? its 99% BMW 750IL.
Did you bought it?
This vs wraith pros cons what would you pick
thank you!
My pleasure :-)
£120K 7 year old Rolls Royce? That really is an interesting proposition. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to wait a little longer, like 20 years little longer.
Lol, emissions army would not let you buy it by that timeline 😅😅
@@Mashburn007 Synthetic fuel?!
@@aabidamn the norms that are being constantly made in the UK regarding emissions are really wild.
Beautiful...
And what is the name of the music in the background?
I can't remember if I'm honest. I'd have to dig out my source files !
Very nice ,als project bei copart gerne with pleasure
Lovely video. Are you sure it isn't a new Rolls? Showroom condition. I'd love to see the garage it was kept in.
It was phenomenal...not a mark on it !
Why didn't you get a spur, maybach, rapide s or xjl SS?
Is it nerve wracking to drive it along a Cornish lane or class 'C' road - how easy is it to locate the corners of the car when trying to judge width etc?
Vary cool !!
A Splendid Review. Super Interesting Peep Into A World Most Folk Will Never See.
Some Things Remind Us As Arthur Daley Said, “ British Is Best” !. Kind Regards.
John Fenner it's German though
James Thom I Fear You Are Right ! Oh Dear !.
John Fenner Not 100pc British, but the BMW mix isn't a bad thing for the brand imo.
I want the yellow convertible at the back of the showroom. Please arrange to have it shipped to California. Thanks. :-)
I know what you mean...it was LOVELY !!
So what's the difference between a ghost and a phantom and can you get a ghost in a Long Wheel base like you can an S class or a 750Li?
Maybe think of it like the difference between a BMW 3 Series and 5 Series ;-)
Not sure about the L version.
The Phantom cost about 60% more than the Ghost and depreciates even faster than the Ghost. The Phantom is basically a to-be-driven car while the Ghost is designed for self-driving.
If you own a ghost, you can be dam sure your boss gets driven in a phantom.
That's the difference in a nutshell.
That’s stunning
Yep :-)
Petrol Ped we have a black badge wraith .... Love to drive it . It’s like your gliding on air
How is driving a car of this size in the city (motorway, regular streets, roundabouts and etc)?
There is no doubt this is a veery big car, but no different to driving a large SUV like a Range Rover.
its a 7 series BMW longer by few inch
Great video Mr Ped. A bargain of a car, makes you think about owning one for a brief while. Was your introduction to the guys at Bristol RR because the Caterham broke down near there? If it was it would be something good coming out of a not so good incident.
Hi Ray. Certainly a thought provoking car. I first met the guys from RR Bristol when I had the Wraith last year, and they also invited me to Goodwood and the Phantom launch. I was actually visiting them in Caterham when it had a drive shaft issue ;-) I hope to do much more with them going forward, including my first trip to the Geneva Motorshow next year :-)
How much did it cost new as specced in 2010? Lovely car though. Pomp and heritage in bucket loads!!! 👍👍
I'll ask for you, but I think it will be around £230-250k.
This was my first thought as well. Considering the high-spec and the exceptional way the car was maintained, it’s a vicious devaluation curve. I wonder what the original owner thought of his resale price, for a car only used 6 months of the year!
The car driven in the video has a red interior, the car listed as a cream interior.??? Do u take offers?
This car was sold just days after I filmed this review.
Anyone know what I would get for a Peugeot 106D in part-ex? lol
Worth asking 😜
Just been informed by a fellow viewer at 2.42 he’s says just over 10,000 miles. I apologise to the host, I missed that totally. Mean while I actively searched for this model. Cheapest £87k same year, lousy spec and more miles. I would love to own this car. Would suit my philosophy buying decent second had. Cash awaits .
Interesting, however in Canada (i moved from the UK to Canada), there was a guy who purchased a 8 year old RR for 80k, 1 year later hes getting offers of 50k after he spent 20k on repairs... so i am not so sure they hold there value as they are worth what people will pay for them.
I make the same mistake with a BMW 750iL (which was borrowed from me by CTV to represent as a James Bond car), i lost over $15k, and i mean i would have been 15k in pocket if i never purchased the car, purchased for $12k, over 8k on repairs then sold for $5k.... so i would like to seem to real stats on these "your not loose alot of money by buying...." statement.
Ah! My bad. Still, thanks for showing us that car. You seemed to enjoy the vehicle very much.
I'm getting a wraith though :)
Peter you have de valued that by sitting in the rear seat LoL .Lovely car .
Ooops ;-)
“Never driven in the rain” too
Can't believe I'm writing this. That is a bargain. I've got the £12 now where did I put those noughts??
LOL...I know what you mean !
Why was it on a dealership showroom. Did the first owner have it repossessed or traded it in
It was being sold for the owner.
Look through the window at 7:32 is that a good omen? 🤣🤣🤣
museum piece
I’ve just bought a Volvo’s XC90 @ £55k , if the rolls could tow a caravan it’s a goer for me.
Not sure if they do a tow bar on their options list 😕
Petrol Ped dam , that’s me out 😂
Peter, that's so kind of you but my Birthday isn't 'til Tuesday. Don't bother wrapping it up I'll take it as it is. What ? It's not a surprise prezzie pour moi ?
Bu**er !!
My please Geof. IM me your address...but if I were you I'd wait till you watch my Monday video ;-)
Petrol Ped
Curiouser & curiouser. Monday ? Hmm 😒. Yes,, I can do that Peter.
Cheers
I seen this car in Bradford high street
dang!
Amazing video, but, idk, maybe I missed it, did you say how much it was?
It was up for sale for £112,000 👍
Oh man, nice find!
Do you prefer driving the Phanton or Ghost?
Drive a Ghost and be driven in a Phantom 😜
Niceeeeee
It sure was :-)
Beautiful car and spec, just loose the chrome wheels for me.
The night vision, heads up display and active cruise and 360 cameras mean it must feel like a new car with toys.
2 years warranty for peace of mind.
It's as good as new !
Does not matter how affordable you think the Ghost is, it was build up for a different kind of elite group. At some point your pockets will be put to the test as far as service and maintenance.
You might have a point there mate :-(
True, but the good side of it its all BMW 750 spare parts !
BRILLIANT VIDEO.. I HAVE THE WRATH IN THE SAME COLOUR, BEST CAR EVER..
You lucky thing 👍
If Fords were treated like Rolls Royce’s, they would last just as long. Ok, not RR in any way!
Steve Prince noooot
filtered rain water, really, he must be some freak
He loved his car !
Why would he sell it
His wife divorced him over his obsessive behaviour towards his baby Rolls.
Not so unusual. Our window cleaner uses same😏
Washed with filtered rain water. Well that is a new one. 😂
Yep 😂
Some people might even call the first owner cheap for doing that :p. To be honest, I would not care at all. The car looks amazing. I have yet to drive one but it is on my to do list.
Beautiful car but I see a major factory defect that I don't know how you missed. They put the steering wheel and all the controls on the wrong side!!!!!!! 😞😨😰😱😲😲
LOL !
Good review but could do with out the irritating Segways
Yeah I know, people keep zipping in and out of frame with helmets on, and some of them even look they're on some kind of stupid tour!
You lied about buying it (god knows why) and took this rain virgin masterpiece in the piss wet rain, what a disrespectful thing to do. Awesome channel content though, subbed.
You had me there...I though I'd never see you again ! Just a cheeky little teaser to keep you guys watching :-)
I'll take a Bentley 2 door!
The perfect car for me would be a Rolls Royce Wraith!
They are very nice too !
Wraith is the worst RR one can buy. It fits the old wisdom: pay good money for a bad product. It looks like a 1970 Plymouth.
Jimmy Yoh it's one of the best looking cars out there...
If you want a coupe, buy a Phantom Coupe.
That car look new
Sure did !
It’s a very very good family car but u need to lease it
So only 142,000 US dollars? Cheap asf
phantom 7
For the price of this Rolls it is by far a better deal to buy than any of the new cars of today at the same price. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money, but not with that plum colour leather inside, not very BUTCH at all, red or pale grey would be great , I think if you had bought the car and took it home to show your wife, you'd be off the team for life. for spending so much money on one car.
I always need to get the PO signed BEFORE I make the purchase !
Thank you for your quick reply, but what is PO and what does it stand for, is it another text shortened word that I hate to hear, I blame BREXIT, HeHe
Sorry, it stands for Purchase Order ;-)
Now that was a quick reply, at the start of your video you said you were going to buy your first Rolls Royce, but in the end you didn't, why not, I always make it a rule to always do what I say what I'm going to do and or buy, for if you keep on saying you are going to do things and then don't do them, people will start and say you are all wind and piss OUCH, I say nothing until I've done what I intend to do or buy, best way, keep your cards close to your chest, better still keep them in the box.
No one sits in 🔙 wtf must of been 1lonely person 😁😁😁
Just over £112,000 for a souped up 9 years old BMW ...why not buy a BMW 760 for half the price and twice the car?
Pedantically, all Luxury Cars of yesteryear are PIA to maintain, especially, a Rolls Royce. All cars are subject to driving habits and maintenance. A FIAT 500, properly driven and maintained shall outsmart a poorly driven and maintained Rolls Royce. The Rolls Royce Engine was a piece of Marvel and Art that made Rolls Royce the quietest, making the car like almost sailing. Alas, no more. They started using Chrysler's Engine with Rolls Royce written over it. Then came the bombshell: BMW Engines. Now it is just a big heavy metal with parts from all over the place. People who used to buy Rolls Royce cars have moved upward. They buy an Aircraft and a Helicopter.
By sitting in the back seat the vale has gone down by £10k
Not my kind of car, but hey if it spins your wheels, rock and roll...
Not for everyone I know, but I thought your'd like to see it anyway ;-)
5 second to 60 isn't crazy quick tbh
Or a Mulsanne?
I would rather buy an S63 AMG Coupe to drive myself or a Saloon to get chauffeured in!
You'd certainly get more noise :-)
And backache from the rock hard ‘sporty’ suspension
