    UGA had The same issues the prior week to playing Tennessee, so I hope we learned our lessons

    Old born and raised Vol here. I’ll tell ya how I feel about the game. I try to leave my feelings out of it. The weather will be a factor. But we are underdogs who match up well. And weather will not effect our running game or our running defense, or defense for that matter. I’m confident Coach Heupel has a special gameplan for Nico. I love the underdog role, I love on the road. I feel good about this game. At home, yeah, we would gain a few plays and draw a couple timeouts with our crowd. But if our D can start turning their boat over in the second half, yeeehaaaa. Guy’s, our team should be scared in a good way that makes em mad. I hope Coach Banks and Garner turn us loose ! since I could turn the dial in 68’, Go Vols !

    From the way Heupel responded when he was asked if he had any new wrinkles planned. He just grinned really big and said no, we're gonna do the same thing we've done all year 😂. I might be totally wrong but the way he reacted and responded told me that he does indeed have something cooking lol 😂. What do yall think about it??

    Edwin Spillman is going to be a BEAST.!!!! It might take him a year or two but I honestly think he's going to be the next GREAT linebacker at Tennessee

    Something needs to be done with the transfer portal. They shouldn't be able to leave a school whenever they feel like it. Let them transfer 2 times and under special circumstances a 3rd time. An example would be if the coach he was playing for left for another job or got fired or a family member is very sick and he needs to be closer to home. And I agree with having early signing day in August. I

    Could you start the CFB season 2-3 weeks earlier and end the season in late December/early January?
    That should provide the flexibility of transfers to enter the academic semester on time.
    Could also toss in a 'No Transfers' clause until your current team's season is over.
    This last scenario would likely lose in court, but you could offer a bit of flexibility on an individual player basis.
    IDK 🤷‍♂️

    There's no secret about what's needed to win big games: First, you defense has to play well, make plays, control the line of scrimmage, and get off the field. If you can get a strong game out of you defense, you give yourself a chance to win even if your offense isn't having a great day. A solid defensive performance is paramount. Beyond that, and more generally, games are decided by which team is better at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball---can you stop the run, can you run the ball, can you protect your QB. And, then, can your QB make some plays. Nico will have to make plays with his arm---get the ball down the field---and, selectively, make some plays with his legs.
    He did a good job in the Vandy game of choosing when to run, and he made two/three key first downs in that game by running---and he will need to make some plays with his legs. QBs who can take off and make a first down on 3rd and 8 or 3rd and 11, if he doesn't see an open receiver, make ALL the difference in college football. He doesn't need to run a lot--but there are always situations where your team needs to move the ball, keep the ball, need to make some first downs, and that's when a QB who can run and make a key first down with his legs can be the difference between keeping a drive alive and getting points and punting. I'm skeptical that UT will be able to come out and just overpower OSU with the run game--especially with a good OSU defense expecting run. Nico will have to make some plays, complete some passes down the field.

    I would like your opinion on what great players you think Tennessee would have been able to attract to Tennessee during some the great Fulmer years if the transfer portal and NIL existed. Michael Oher comes to mind, but would Randy Moss have been a Vol with Peyton?

    The most impressive part of the basketball team is they've been doing this without Estrella and Carr. I really thought Estrella would be our best player this year. He has that level of talent, size, physicality, and work ethic.

    The transfer portal window should only be open after spring semester. Somehow, someway, college football needs to make this happen. The transfer portal, not NIL, is the biggest threat to college football.

    Why are we looking at a 6,2 Guard??

    • @imresoloman633
      @imresoloman633 День назад

      That's like the ideal height for a guard. What's your question?

    • @matthewpurdy9238
      @matthewpurdy9238 День назад +1

      Josh prioritizes run blocking out of the guards above versatility. If a tackle can’t pass protect, the center can help, the tackle can help (with a TE on his other shoulder), or the RB can pick them up. Run blocking for a guard is like a tackle being on an island. It’s one on one and that block means the difference between a negative play and a 7 yard gain.

    Look, I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think our chances are good. Neutral field or home field and I think we could win but our history on the road sux! The year is still a success but I don’t see us winning Saturday night.
