Reading about the desert wandering of the Israelites I have often chuckled at how gracious and merciful God was with such a fickle people, following Moses one minute, cursing him the next. Then I remembered how mercifully and gracious is with me and then I really laugh.
This! They were willing to go back to slavery and by extension having their descendants born into slavery. Sure they had to suffer, but if they had absolute faith they would’ve only been suffering in the desert for a couple years. God is patient and long suffering

The Lord wasn't mocked, it was mostly biblically accurate, there was no lewd language nor swear words. The humor is biblical, without being corny. This is a rare gem. E.g. the scene where Moses holds up the staff on God's command. It's entirely biblically accurate, God isn't disrespected; but the writers found the humor in it.
I love the idea in the background of this Biblical epic there’s a 21st century camera crew filming all this, possibly watching these people struggle and starve and suffer and a Director or Studio executive saying “this is great stuff so much passion and drama”
I’m so excited. I cannot believe we are finally getting a Christian comedy series. Let’s be honest - the last successful iteration of this in Christian media came from talking vegetables 💀

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I'm very weary of a comedy like this, I think because it seems to downplay the seriousness of why the Israelites wandered for 40 years. It seems to turn their ungrateful complaining and lack of trust in God into a quirky joke, and it downplays the wonderment of God providing for them. Non-believers already think the Bible is a joke, and this just gives them more of a reason to disregard looking into it and seeing their need for a savior. I disagree with Mr. Jenkins, I feel like a show like this will only do more harm than good.
