You performed an excellent cover of a beautiful song that is not easy to cover without the backing of a full orchestra. I was 18 years young and "in love" when the Richard Harris version was released. Your performance brought back some fond memories that I have been unable to visit for a very long time due to dementia. Thank you and bless you. T. Phoenix, AZ USA
You do a great job with this song. Another version I like is the live performance by Boston Pops with Glenn Campbell (1977). Donna Summer had a huge hit covering this song too. But Richard Harris's had a kind of soul wrenching pathos that only a Shakespearlan tragedian could draw out of it.
Thank you so much! Glen Campbell and Donna Summer were two exceptional performers, especially with this song. A couple months ago I started listening to many versions of MacArthur Park. I even found a version where the singer actually hit the high note and then goes on to nail the female vocals at the end. The video is called "Paul Shaffer + CBS Orchestra w/ Jim Webb -"MacArthur Park" on Letterman" and the singer is called Will Lee. I really recommend you listen to it; the overall performance is amazing. And I couldn't agree more about Richard Harris' version. He sang his heart out. Nobody could perform a Jimmy Webb song like he did; he always brought the lyrics to life. Although he wasn't a trained singer, he could perform MacArthur Park like it was his own composition. It was a shame only two of his many songs written by Jimmy became hits.
MacArthur Park Donna Summer Spring was never waiting for us, dear It ran one step ahead As we followed in the dance Between the parted pages and were pressed In love's hot, fevered iron Like a striped pair of pants Macarthur's park is melting in the dark All the sweet, green icing flowing down Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it took so long to bake it And I'll never have that recipe again Oh, no! I recall the yellow cotton dress Foaming like a wave On the ground beneath your knees The birds, like tender babies in your hands And the old men playing chinese checkers by the trees Macarthur's park is melting in the dark All the sweet, green icing flowing down Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it took so long to bake it And I'll never have that recipe again Oh, no! There will be another song for me For I will sing it There will be another dream for me Someone will bring it I will drink the wine while it is warm And never let you catch me looking at the Sun And after all the loves of my life After all the loves of my life You'll still be the one I will take my life into my hands and I will use it I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it I will have the things that I desire And my passion flow like rivers through the sky And after all the loves of my life After all the loves of my life I'll be thinking of you And wondering why Macarthur's park is melting in the dark All the sweet, green icing flowing down Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it took so long to bake it And I'll never have that recipe again Oh, no! Oh, no! No, no! Oh no!

What an amazing piano cover of the classic song😃😄
The Richard Harris version of Macarthur’s park is the best in my opinion. It’s the piano that really outdoes the other versions
Wow! It’s easy to tell that you love this song and really enjoy performing it. What a pleasure to listen to it!
Freaking amazing cover you did. My Mom loved the Richard Harris version. I love the Donna Summer version. My Mom would have loved hearing this. ❤

Spring was never waiting for us, dear
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants
Macarthur's park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground beneath your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing chinese checkers by the trees
Macarthur's park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
There will be another song for me
For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
Someone will bring it
I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the Sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
You'll still be the one
I will take my life into my hands and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
I'll be thinking of you
And wondering why
Macarthur's park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
Oh, no!
No, no!

Why don’t you post any more?
I'm not much into making videos anymore I guess. I might make some more videos in future though!
Great rendition of what I think is both the worst song of all time and the best song of all time.
