- A Machinist friend of ours from the Engine Shows built this incredible homemade Opposed 4 cylinder Boxer engine from scratch. He designed and fabricated just about every single part including the pistons, rings, crank, cams, rods, exhaust, gas tank and display mount.

Incredible skill and patience required for that hobby. Nice runner, thanks for sharing.
Put a prop on it and I bet it would pull one of my larger RC planes around just fine!
Over 6000 RPM with atmospheric intake valves? That's insane.
Yeah I wouldn't had thought that possible.
Well... no load so it may be producing hardly any power at those RPMs... would be nice it it had a little generator on it to load it up.
Smaller engines can go higher rpms before suffering from rpm-related problems, due to lower masses of all the components.
Beautiful. When you behold the passion projects of highly skilled individuals, it's usually really something to see.
Man, that is some really impressive work! Runs smooth too.
Yeah Buddy!! That Dude has some mad skills!!☺
@@805ROADKING what's the horsepower on it?
@@manofsan yes
That is someone that has a lot of free time. For all of the right reasons! That is a great hobby or more correctly passion to have. You seem to always be around others that share it with you with no egos and plenty of admiration.
The tin-work on the fan shroud is amazing!
Id like to see someone build a v8 based off of a Wisconsin v4
LOL,..almost like an air cooled Ford Flat Head !!
I like the intake "suck down" feature.
Thanks Everett!
steve
I wonder if some of your viewers thought you built that until they clicked on the video - and read your description. What a beautiful and functional engine!
Wow, THAT was amazing! That man has some serious skills, very impressive!
Yeah Buddy!! ☺
Beautiful Work! now he has to build the beetle that goes around the engine! :-)
Well made and well done! Seriously clever man, thanks for sharing
Amazing unique sound, I couldn't have guessed it
Almost makes you want to build a little bike around it. Cool little motor 😎
This is just fantastic craftsmanship. What a great video
I see the fellow was enjoying a cold bush beer while playing with his homemade engine , gotta love it LOL
Beautiful build. Runs nice too
That is a gorgeous engine, very fine sounding as well. Some very fine engineering work, craftsmanship. It's a pleasure to watch and listen to. Thanks for showing your work.
Amazing work, a masterpiece!
This is a very neat engine. You've done a great job!!!!!
Amazing for sure. The fit and finish are incredible.
What a wonderful bit of craftsmanship !
Yeah Buddy!! ☺
absolutley brilliant ,a credit to you well done.
What a treat to see this!
I missed this engine at the show. Great video....thanks.
Thanks Larry!! He was under the Steam Model Shed all by himself!! He stopped by our store with it before he left!!☺
@@805ROADKING I forget about checking out the Steam Model Shed. Glad you made a video. It was nice visiting with you and Mike. Great to share stories with you two guys. See you in October. Thanks again for your hospitality.
What a cool little engine that runs. One day I will make one too.
A1 build and soooo cute. 👍 I love these little engines. My hat's off to you, what an awesome display of skill.
Love it Rk. Thanks for sharing.
Love the poppet valves on the intakes
Wow wow wow! I bet if he made these as kits they would sell.
That thing sounds BADASS 🤘
The man is simply an artist.
That's a neat little engine. That's a fantastic achievement.
Nicely done 💪🏻 It sounds like 100hp 🙂
The craftsmanship on this is amazing I love this! Imagine this In a small beetle made for kids, no doubt it would rip
You sir are one heck of a craftsman. We are working on something similar but a rotary engine and didn’t catch the brand of ignition that you used. That’s our brick wall for the moment without going to a fuel/timing management system which may have to happen still. However admired you work and thought I’d ask you that. Thanks much for sharing
A very impressive piece of workmanship.
Yeah Buddy!! ☺
Pretty cool. What could that actually power? It sounds ready to work.
Great job man.
Aesthetically beautiful too.
Amazing! It even sounds a little bit like an old VW bug!
Nice one Roadie! Thanks for sharing. Zippy~
Thanks for checking it out Mate!!☺
Wow! I'm impressed :-)
That sounds so good
Very cool...You won't chisel that out of bits and pieces...Outstanding and it revs up there for a poppet inlet...
Fantastic little engine. Let see it powering that esky around. That would be legendary :)
MASTER PIECE .. Great share KING !!.. ENJOYED BUDDY ..
Yeah Buddy!! ☺
That's freaking awesome.
Maybe he will make a mini VW VR6 engine next
How cool is that!!!.
So impressive, I wonder how it would run and sound if he made a 4-1 chambered exhaust?
that lil boxer is thumpin
That thing would be badass in a RC boat or car!
Cool sound
Great!! Congrats to you!
Thanks for sharing he did a real good job on that engine, I love the sound of those miniatures. I watched a couple video's of v8's that sounded just like a full sized motor, there has been a few guys built minature running crawler tractors to that a cool . I know of a guy and his buddy's that was building a rotary using Briggs parts, it would be cool to see that done and running to in the next few years. I'm thinking they've got to get that done before putting their skills to making a flat 4 though LOL. Take care guys
Just what we need in a lawnmower.
Extreme skills and lost talents. I hope he is passing it on. You cant learn how to build that in school
Beautiful
I dam sure wish they taught good engineering classes in school.. sadly most people who could take advantage of that type of learning in this modern era are either to incompetent to actually appreciate the knowledge or are focused on less important, trivial things like social life and “fun” as they put it.. By fun I mean doing burnouts in public parks, smoking THC in the bathroom and sitting around doing nothing while talking about essentially meaningless subjects with there 10 or so “friends” that they’ll never see agin after school... I try my hardest to learn about the subject of manufacture and engineering on my own time.. but that’s rather difficult without a teacher and a ton of actual schooling that will get me nowhere in life, I don’t care about complex mathematical equations with little to no use and writing papers! I want to create!
They can barely teach reading in school.
silverfox441 that bar maid shouldn’t be allowed within a 1000 yards of federal building...
Joe Ross they legitimately cannot.. the classrooms for the most part are to chaotic.. (I know from personal experience..)
Oh wow,,, that's nice,,, fine craftsmanship.
Yeah Buddy!! ☺
Very nicely built. How many horsepower does it output? I'm thinking about ~5.
That was cool. Thanks
Now thats badass
That's just awesome :)
That is gorgeous, incredible engineering and a piece of art too. Like others have said ,it's a shame these skill are not taught in school, we had metal and wood work lessons in high school, just wish I had taken more interest then, but I didn't have enough confidence to do it. I'm 58 now and am trying to teach myself basic carpentry.
Nice work!
What is the displacement? 100cc?
That is way cool! Imagine that in a small motorcycle.
Wish I had 1\4 of his talent
This things awesome, why the hell would anyone give it a thumbs down???
I realy enjoy from your work and from it's sond
very cool engine.
I’m wondering what kind of power it makes? Enough to power a bike? Or cart? So is it dry sump with a type of oil mixed with the fuel?
There is my worrying about rebuilding a Toyota engine! All I have to do is bolt bits together. This guy has made all the bits!
Amazing talent
Awesome ! 👍👍
How is your overhead valve Briggs coming along. Miss those videos.
Great video. Like others stated. What a craftsman
Thanks Bud!! We'll probably get back on the OHV after the Show Season when we have a little more time!!☺
Brillante!!
Fine machine!!
Are there any guides/templates/websites on how to build this type of compact, sophisticated engine? Any sorts of guidelines would help, thank you
COOL STUFF Mike & R K :) . How bout You guys make a mini Corvair engine ;)
That is a neat little engine...Did you make a video on this one before or is this one similar to another one ?
Nah the other video was a V4, they are both built by the same guy though!!☺
Wow, just wow.
Very cool.
Thst is cool. Get buildin!😊
Amazing
Awesome 👍
This would be a good engine upgrade for a Honda.
yeah !!! stick this motor in a 50cc step-thru frame................ coolness abounds
Real nice
Can you make it fit on a bicycle and also a belt drive transmission
That's awesome
Neat little engine, now you just need to accept the Briggs flat-four (or six?) challenge... :D
XD100 2 stroke oil? i got 6 gals for my 8v92, 2 gallons for my small 2 stroke v8 and 6 quarts of amsoil dominator 2 stroke oil for my rotary! Thats 10 gallons of 2 stroke synthetic oil!
My gosh, that would be great on a large scale RC car.
Sounds way better than a Subaru!
Is that atmospheric intake valves?
Nice!
Cool motor
How work will do in watts.
Smart guys like that really make me feel stupid. That engine was really cool to watch run.
Yeah Buddy!! Guys like that are right up there with the Wright Bros. and Harley & the Davidsons!!☺
Boxers have always been my underwear of choice , just a tad bit of humor , all kidding aside , I feel that all boxers are torque monsters. At one time I had 17 Briggs & Stratton 18 to 20 horse boxers. I prefer a boxer over a B&S V-twin any day. I have a bare block that I building and using for R&D .
Sounds like a real high powered Volkswagen then tings down and is smooth sounding when not reeving like police cars do
