One of my earliest pandemic activities was assembling a puzzle that featured many of the Love stamps. Thanks for sharing this history!
I just got that same puzzle at a thrift store last month. Going to start it soon!
There’s one of those Robert Indiana Love statues outside my office building!
But I mentioned those king/queen ones in one of my videos, they’re great, we used a bunch of them on our wedding invites.
I will have to check out that video. I went with the non machinable surcharge for my wedding, which was probably postage overkill, but hey... they're cute!
@@kendragaylord Bragging about some invites too fancy to be handled by machines! (No but the butterfly stamps are really nice)
Great video, I'm so glad I got recommended your channel today! In college, for a class I was taking we actually got to visit Robert Indiana at his home in Vinalhaven. I remember he was very kind, answering our questions and giving us a tour of the house. It was grand and dilapidated, stuffed with art and curiosities, etc. At the time I didn't really appreciate who he was but the house made a big impression on me, basically my dream home!
Thank you for sharing such an amazing story! I can only imagine what a big impression it would make. I am hoping that it becomes a museum so I can visit it. So happy for your comment and grateful this video found you!
I used to go to Vinalhaven every summer to visit family and the Robert Indiana house (which is literally right on the main street next to the post office) was always so fascinating to me. The windows were painted over or covered and I would make up stories about what was happening inside. I was last there this summer and I think they'd actually set up some displays in the windows
So glad I found your channel! Love from Amsterdam
Thank you for being here!
Why yes, I do recognize those Ellsworth Kelly stamps. And yes was excitedly anticipating their release. Total stamp nerd here.
Oh my gosh, you are hilarious and other descriptive words I don't have a big enough vocabulary to know. I really appreciate what you do and the way you do it, and we need more of this in the world.
The original love stamp is my favorite stamp to collect. Thanks!
its such a cool stamp! thanks for watching
That’s my fav, too!❤❤❤
I cannot be the only one who has never heard of an Odd Fellows house before.
I really enjoyed this video! I have a love pin of the same stamp you were earrings are! I was a teenager in the 70s🎉🎉🎉
The original Love sculpture lives in Newfields in Indy about 3 miles from here. It's bigger than you'd think. You owe yourself that surprise.
i am so glad i found your channel! the 1995 angel (cherub?) stamps are some of my favourites too. the tone of red they used for “love” is one of my favourite kinds of red 💌
Cherubs is totally the word! So happy you're here!
Gosh, not the enemy Love stamp earring betrayal! The greatest offense!!!
But seriously, enjoyed this very much! Didn't know anything about Robert Indiana, but definitely knew the LOVE image (seems to be a theme), thanks for informing! :D
So glad you liked the video! I knew nothing about him either and couldn't believe how interesting the story was
"ohmygod, what's the difference between an angel and a cupid?!" 😹 your audhd is showing and i love it ❤
Lmfao "oh my God he beat me to it"
the baby angel image is called a "putto"
Your channel is so great
Thank you so much! I am so glad you found the channel!!
i know nothing about the love stamp however i am a philadelphian and i always thought the love sign was kinda cheesy but i see it now in a new, gay little light. thank you
Cherubs!
Hi Kendra! I loved this video. Thank you for the history of the Love stamp and Robert Indiana. I didn't know about any of that. However, I do have to disagree with your take on the 2023 Love stamps. In my opinion, they look like those creepy big eye children paintings from the 70s. But I do like the idea of looking back at stamps from a certain era and being like "yes! that was the style then!" I think that is great. Stamps are a fun time capsule in a little tiny package, right? Please keep the stamp videos coming (I also enjoy your Gilmore Girls and architecture videos).
You are so right about the 2023 stamps looking like those big eye paintings by Margaret Keane! I can't unsee it now and somehow I am still into it. Thank you so much for watching. So happy you're here!
💘 💕 🥰 ♥ 😉
cherub = Angel? ✓ Cupid? ✓
ithink they're called cherubs

This is a man.
Stamp Freak, here 🙋🏻♀️ Ummm, do you have a PO Box? Every so often I get some promotional USPS magnets for our displays at the station I work at, and I would love to send you some little beauties. It’s not often I find people that think they’re as cool as I do 🥹
