@@3D80sKid I am also a very thrifty collector. I have less than 10 cards I would say that I paid "up" for. Nowadays, I find the true challange in finding "diamonds in the ruff" in the lower grades. Keep doing what you do and thanks for the content.

@3D80sKid I get it. One of my grail cards is the 53 Bowman Musial but they are pricey.
The 53 Bowman is a great choice. If it wasn’t for the 52, I would have been debating between the 53 and his 54 Red Heart. Best of luck to you in your quest.

One of the nicest looking cards ever. And more reason to ponder why 52 Bowman is so weirdly underrated compared to 51.
Thanks Tony! It is a great one. I think the 51 vs 52 status probably is a combination of two factors: a couple of big rookies in the 51 set and the 52 set getting overshadowed by that other card company. Just a guess?

Thanks Eddy! Since we’re the same age I’m guessing we both have Boomer parents who were raised by Depression era parents so we both probably have similar mental hurdles with spending money. Best of luck to you! I guess I’m going to be attempting to nuke all of my mental blocks at this year’s National if I can find the right Ruth card.
@@3D80sKid You pegged me perfectly. We are living parallel lives other than the small boarder that separates us. I even prefer SGC way over all other, BUT have not decided to go SGC exclusive. Your beautiful display has me thinking otherwise sometimes though.

I did not know you had a higher than Theo 71 Clemente. You need to have that in the background of every video.

Gorgeous card John , before you know it you will be crossing the $1000 threshold. When you first dive into vintage / prewar you think too much about the price and then before you know it you will start thinking "it's only money"

I’m targeting the 1920 W519 unnumbered in an Authentic. I am willing to be patient for the right one for the right price. So if I have to wait until after the National for an auction I will.

Dag-nab-it! It was you! 😡I was one of the watchers and waiters on that 52B Musial, but wasn't home when the price reduction hit. But I'm happy for you. I've got the 52B Snider in SGC 4 now, so I want the Musial more than ever. Eye appeal! Color that jumps! Centering! I can live with worn corners or wax on the back. I have the Duke version of your Stan the Man. For me it's Graig-approved centering (Midlife Sports Cards).
Sorry you missed out. (But not really. LOL It's the polite thing to say, right?) Congrats on the Duke! Knowing both Graig and Dylan (Double D Vintage Baseball Cards), Dylan approved is basically Graig approved on steroids.

@@3D80sKid I just bought the Musial in PSA 5 for $499. But it doesn't look any nicer than yours. I took a chance because the seller had some old poor feedback for not shipping. But he must ship to the eBay authenticator, so they will deal with any shenanigans and there is no risk to me..

Yes, with authentication in the middle of it, it does shield you from shipping concerns. It will take at least two weeks now, but you definitely get either the card or the refund without hassle.
