there is no hood sensor. the hood latch has a micro switch on it.
Rob, it should be a one year trial. I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD off-road that I purchased June 2022. I just renewed the connection and safety parts only for the app. I really appreciate your channel. -Chuck
Even critters are Taco heads! I would think that the lower restriction airflow would offset the temp difference, especially since the system is still sucking air through the fender inlet.
Anybody else wonder why tacomas warn you when the sunroof is open when the truck is off but not the back slider? And why theres no auto open/close on the slider. Petty i know but it would be nice.
I personally wouldn't do open cold air.. if you're on dirt roads, mudding or driving on sand often that thing will get filthy quicker and need more maintenance and cleaning opposed to a closed box cold air intake. If you're just highway driving then sure.
also helps with keeping up with tire and fuel remotely. gotta pay to play 😮

Can't you just put a screen on the inlet hole? I doubt it would restrict airflow that bad.
You could, but there are plenty of open spaces under the hood.

I installed mine and the sound above 3000rpm is pretty sweet. I don’t know why they call these cold air because whether it’s stock or a aftermarket it’s still bringing air from the outside and when it’s 95 in the Carolinas it ain’t cold air coming in.

They all program sensors to go bad after your warranty is up...that's why there are lots of useless sensors. lol
