Definitely changes all the time, but most recently I've become obsessed with Carmilla!! The perfect gothic, castle, spooky (romance?) vibes, and on top of it all a nice short read!
I've been waiting for you to opload a video like this cause I'm desperate for some good fall reads🤭So thank you for your recommendations, Liv🥰 I'm halfway through House of Salt and Sorrows rn (because you recommended it last year) and I really enjoy it a lot! Can't wait to read more from this author 🤩 I also really hope to get to read The Dead Romantics this autumn season 🍂🍁
Recommendations: -The Cottage Around the Corner -The Black Witch Chronicles -The Pale Queen (graphic novel) -Something Close to Magic -Rebecca (a classic!) -The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door (October Release) -The Woodsmoke Women’s Book of Spells (October Release as well! Also the most autumnal with Practical Magic and Spells for Forgetting vibes!)
New fav autumn graphic novel, Ash's Cabin by Jen Wang. It's a new book. Gorgeous illustrations of autumn colored forests and mountains. Ash decides to get away from the world and goes on a hike into the wilderness with thier dog to find thier grandfather's lost cabin. Dog best friend + beautiful mountain forest + journey of self discovery + camping ❤❤❤❤🍁🍂🍁🍂
So many good recs! My Belladonna box set is arriving tomorrow! 👏👏 I still need to pick up suburban hell. I'm currently reading the naturals series and I'm on book three. It's so good. Home before dark is my only Sager I haven't read and it's on my tbr for this month. 🎃
Thanks for this video❤ I have Divine Rivals and Belladonna on my fall tbr😍 Added some of the shown books to my wishlist😅 My recommandation is „Love Wager“ by Lynn Painter and one I‘m looking forward to is „Pumkinheads“ by Rainbow Rowell😊
I LOVE Hooky!!! It’s one of my favorite series, I loved it even more reading the second and third volumes! Perfect for autumn too 😊 Also the Sheets series is perfect for fall, I read the 3rd one recently and it was my favorite in the series
I LOVED House of Roots and Ruin even more (and I really liked Salt and Sorrow). It's one of my all time favorites, and she is coming out with a third one in 2026!
I don’t remember which video you recommended The Haunting of Ashburn House in, but I finally read it and it was very good. I recommend it for a spooky read for anyone who likes that genre😊
Bride was my first Ali Hazelwood too. Like you said, I liked the rest of the plot - the political machinations, the kidnapping - more than the romance. I liked Suburban Hell too - so campy and fun! I just ordered her new book and can't wait to get to it in October.
If you haven’t read these 2 yet. They are my favs! The atmosphere is perfect is both. -Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox -The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon
You should definitely read all of Erin A Craig she is my favorite spooky writer. Small Favors is Amazing and Roots and Ruin definitely 5 star books. Also her new book is coming out this month call the thirteenth child that I'm dying to read. Love your book recommendations ❤❤
@@livslibrary do it girl!!! Check out those other ones to, I started with Small Favors one year and was obsessed with her writing style ever since. Small Favors is like the movie village but even has more creepy vibes. I am obsessed with her writing, reading her books for fall gets me in the autumn vibes
I read "Cemetary Boys" by Aiden Thomas about two or three years ago, and I LOVED it. It's one of my yearly fall must-reads now. I also enjoy reading the original Abhorsen Trilogy ("Sabriel," "Lirael," and "Abhorsen") by Garth Nix in the fall, because even though it's full of snowy landscapes it also deals with necromancers. The Aveline Jones trilogy by Phil Hickes is also a great middle grade series, with "The Haunting of Aveline Jones" feeling like a true ghost story by the end. For graphic novels, I will always recommend "Fangs" by Sarah Andreson. The art, the humor -I just love it and read it every year. The Blood Books by Tanya Huff are older (written before cell phones) but are a great series involving a private detective and a vampire (and inspired one of my favorite vamp series as a teen, "Blood Ties" starring Christina Cox and Kyle Schmid). They don't all take place in the fall, but the first book does. And, of course, we can't forget the king of fall writing: Ray Bradbury, and I recommend "Something Wicked This Way Comes" just for the atmosphere.
My daughter’s hair is only a smidge longer than yours. She wants curls like yours. What styling tools/products are you using? I loved anatomy. I need to read book 2 this fall.
Just added Gallant, Suburban Hell, and the Lighthouse Witches to my TBR! Do you have any suggestions on something with similar vibes to a Library of Shadows? That was one of my favorite reads last year! 🍁🎃
idk if you are into kdramas or not but I recently watched one named "doom at your service " and it had the same characters like Belladonna (girl falling in love with de8th /doom) i was desperately looking for books with kinda same plot and this is the 6th book video recommending me belladonna , guess it's my sign to add it in my October tbr !!!
If you want to laugh, i rec the dales detective series by Julia Chapman. Its a cozy mysterie and I just love every characters. Anne of Green Gables for your soul of course and Charley Davidson, it's an old series, i'm on book2. Hate all the covers but they're fun, and sexy.
So I tried reading Gallant and I got spooked so quickly 👻 🐓 😂 I didn’t even make it to where she goes to the manner yet!!! I’m such a chicken. I love the vibes and really really want to keep reading but ghosts freak me out so much. Does it get more scary as it goes?
Hahaha yes, the manor is full of ghosts so many stick to cozy reads? 😅 It was definitely way more tame in comparison to some other things I’ve read though!
@@livslibrary thanks! I might give it another shot in the future, but for now maybe avoid creepy ghosts. I can definitely read other dark theme spooky things but the “I see dead people” freaks me the hell out for some reason 😹
@@livslibrary oh by the way, this is the same author from “A City of Ghosts” right? I know it’s in the title, but being middle grade and all, is that one less scary in the type of ghosts? Maybe a good way to enter the ghostly world in a friendlier way?
L O V E your autumn content as always 🧡🧡🧡 Also! I just picked up a new book called “The Pumpkin Princess and the Forever Night” by Steven Banbury - haven’t read it yet because I’m saving it for October BUT I feel like you would adore it!!!
I want to read The Bone Houses. I read The Drowned Woods, which I believe takes place in the same world as The Bone Houses. I got in an owl crate box. It was good. I didn't need to read the first book before reading it. Still want to read the Bone Houses.
Yes, read the Bone Houses. It is one of my favorite books and even better than The Drowned Woods imo. The characters are so loveable and the forest vibes are perfect for autumn.
😁 Ok, I wanted to give an update. After my first comment, I put the book on hold at my library. I picked it up and just finished it last night. It was good. At some point, I am probably going to get my own copy for my shelves.
🧡 Give me your top favorite fall book rec!
I'd like to recommend any cozy mystery book by Anna Lee Huber... Honestly they are just straight up made for autumn ❤❤❤
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen if you haven't read it yet
Definitely changes all the time, but most recently I've become obsessed with Carmilla!! The perfect gothic, castle, spooky (romance?) vibes, and on top of it all a nice short read!
Interview with the vampire by Anne rice book 1 in the vampire chronicles the series has 13 books
Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury is my favorite Halloween read. The first few chapters of Spells for Forgetting completely captured fall vibes for me.
I just read the Halloween Tree yesterday for the first time, SO cute. Loved the ending 📖
Divine Rivals!! I started reading it recently, and you're so right that it immediately gets you sucked into the vibes!!!
