I was in Cinque Terre two years ago. We rented an apartment through Airbnb and stayed there for a few days. So, we could see a little more of the different villages. Most tourists come quickly for a day and then leave in the afternoon. You notice that the streets get crowded around noon. In the evening everything is almost empty again. We also took a boat trip to Portofino. With this Video you have reawakened my memories of this wonderful vacation. Thank you very much for this wonderful video.

I'm from Italy and I've never been in that wonderful and amazing places. I think that, among other similar villages of the area (Liguria), this one is the best. By the way that region is the hometown of Columbus and the birthplace of many Italian specialties (think about the pesto sauce). Best greetings.
I was fortunate to visit Portofino in December 2009, when I did that walk with my wife. It was a beautiful day, visiting a beautiful place. It was just part of a cruise from Barcelona down the Italian western coast. Portofino was a great a beautiful surprise. Thank you for reminding me of that lovely time

Wonderful to see Castello Brown! This featured in the film "Enchanted April" by Elizabeth von Arnim who visited in 1921. I was "enchanted" by the film which features the long walk to up to the castle by two very English ladies in a torrential storm who have rented the castle for a month as an adventure from their dreary lives and husbands. The castle works its magic. Highly recommended if you love Portofino. Won lots of golden globes.

I really enjoy these tours. I'm posting them on my Facebook page as suggested walks. They work best if you commit to the time, preplan for the walking tour and have the cheese and wine (or whatever else) on hand to enjoy as you take the tour and get into the moment. We converse as we go, as if we were really there. Right now, we are completing an imaginary cruise around the coast of Italy, with one of these walks at every stop, about every three of four days.

@@ProWalks Thanks for your response. I'm in a group that loves Seabourn Cruises. So my plan is to create these imaginary cruises with these walks in places most likely to be visited by the small ships of Seabourn. Our first one takes us around Italy from Portofino to Venice. The next will be the Adriatic coast and Greece, followed by the Iberian Peninsular and so on. The demographics of Seabourn customers are toward the more senior end, so, we are twice blessed by your walks. We can 'experience' them from home, and cover more ground than we otherwise might in reality.

Wow! I've always been fascinated by this town. It's everything I imagined it would be, and more. I like the linear way this is presented, no jump cuts, no distracting music. I really have a sense of being there in real time. The audio is great too, especially with good headphones. At first I thought I was hearing sprinklers in the background, then I thought it was birds, but it must be some kind of cicada or crickets. Are they always this noisy?
Yeah, they are the cicadas. I think I just got unlucky and got there during prime season. They're pretty loud but there wasn't much I could do about it. :) This was my first time in Portofino. I would love to see a video on how you match the audio to the video and achieve the 3D sound. Watching with headphones on is almost like being there, the sound is amazing!
Well...I probably won't be posting a video on that..but it is pretty easy. I use an external mic and I just sync the Gopro audio track and the external mic audio track in Adobe Premiere. You can either do it manually or select both tracks and click synchronize. I wear the microphones in my ears. That is how I capture the natural sound. Glad to hear you've been using headphones with the walks. It is definitely best that way.
Wow, thank you! I just take a bunch of video and hope I can stitch it all together into something worth watching. I actually have about 40 minutes of done footage. I've been meaning to post up a drone video of Portofino but just haven't had time to make it yet.

I'm from Italy and I've never been in that wonderful and amazing places. I think that, among other similar villages of the area (Liguria), this one is the best. By the way that region is the hometown of Columbus and the birthplace of many Italian specialties (think about the pesto sauce). Best greetings.

I was fortunate to visit Portofino in December 2009, when I did that walk with my wife. It was a beautiful day, visiting a beautiful place.
It was just part of a cruise from Barcelona down the Italian western coast. Portofino was a great a beautiful surprise.

Wonderful to see Castello Brown! This featured in the film "Enchanted April" by Elizabeth von Arnim who visited in 1921. I was "enchanted" by the film which features the long walk to up to the castle by two very English ladies in a torrential storm who have rented the castle for a month as an adventure from their dreary lives and husbands. The castle works its magic. Highly recommended if you love Portofino. Won lots of golden globes.
Portofino was on my bucket lists, but due to COVID I couldn’t travel this year !

I really enjoy these tours. I'm posting them on my Facebook page as suggested walks. They work best if you commit to the time, preplan for the walking tour and have the cheese and wine (or whatever else) on hand to enjoy as you take the tour and get into the moment. We converse as we go, as if we were really there. Right now, we are completing an imaginary cruise around the coast of Italy, with one of these walks at every stop, about every three of four days.

@@ProWalks Thanks for your response. I'm in a group that loves Seabourn Cruises. So my plan is to create these imaginary cruises with these walks in places most likely to be visited by the small ships of Seabourn. Our first one takes us around Italy from Portofino to Venice. The next will be the Adriatic coast and Greece, followed by the Iberian Peninsular and so on. The demographics of Seabourn customers are toward the more senior end, so, we are twice blessed by your walks. We can 'experience' them from home, and cover more ground than we otherwise might in reality.

Wonderfull! First time I've saw portofino in Oktober 1990. It's was our honey moon journey. We've never seen such a nice landscape bevor.
Does it look the same now as it did then? Yeah, I rode my bike all along the coast there and really loved it.
Wow! I've always been fascinated by this town. It's everything I imagined it would be, and more. I like the linear way this is presented, no jump cuts, no distracting music. I really have a sense of being there in real time.
The audio is great too, especially with good headphones. At first I thought I was hearing sprinklers in the background, then I thought it was birds, but it must be some kind of cicada or crickets. Are they always this noisy?
Yeah, they are the cicadas. I think I just got unlucky and got there during prime season. They're pretty loud but there wasn't much I could do about it. :) This was my first time in Portofino. Tomorrow I will be posting up an evening walk filmed on the same day starting at 8:50 pm. I'm glad you enjoyed the walk. Thanks for watching!

I would love to see a video on how you match the audio to the video and achieve the 3D sound. Watching with headphones on is almost like being there, the sound is amazing!
Well...I probably won't be posting a video on that..but it is pretty easy. I use an external mic and I just sync the Gopro audio track and the external mic audio track in Adobe Premiere. You can either do it manually or select both tracks and click synchronize. I wear the microphones in my ears. That is how I capture the natural sound. Glad to hear you've been using headphones with the walks. It is definitely best that way.

Wow, thank you! I just take a bunch of video and hope I can stitch it all together into something worth watching. I actually have about 40 minutes of done footage. I've been meaning to post up a drone video of Portofino but just haven't had time to make it yet.
@@ProWalks I've learned a piece of wisdom from a bumper sticker when it seems there's too much to do - "Time exists so everything doesn't have to happen at once." It's surprisingly calming when the heat is on.

Man I feel we are missing out alot on your foreign tours due to Cov19, your Egypt tours were amazing. Hopefully once things start to go back to normal we will see more middle east country tours.
