Wow...whitelands is amazing. Thanks Bret. Gonna pick that up.
Right on!
Whitelands dope
Great band. Looking forward to what comes next from them.
Very cool picks, love that Ministry album. Wish I could have made it out to Pasadena to see them, but I really didn't want to mess with the crowds and the traffic- and didn't want to see Ministry play in daylight. I saw them back on that Twitch tour, with RevCo opening. Curious how that Mazzy Star live stuff sounds. Great video, cheers Bret!
Hey Mike! Very cool that you saw Ministry on the Twitch tour. I just came across a live album from that tour that was released recently that I'm going to check out. Overall, the Mazzy Star live recording sounds good!
Hi Bret , interesting you mentioned Deary and Sonic Cathedral. Jesse and I met Dottie from Deary at the Sonic Cathedral stand at the Independent label fair in Kings Cross 2 weeks ago. This was entirely coincidental to the fact we'd seen them in Leeds 2 days previously and intended seeing them that night.(she was delighted that we recognised her!!!) We were both able to pick up the last 2 copies of their mini LP which is otherwise sold out. The Independent Label Fair is almost worth a visit to the UK alone. Some real finds/bargains .......i'll check out the Whitelands album
Hi John, what a coincidence. Did you guys go see Deary, or were they opening for someone else? Dottie makes an appearance on that Whitelands LP. I think you'll enjoy it. It's also mastered by Simon from Slowdive.
@@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog Hi Bret , sorry I missed your reply (i usually watch YT on tv.) Deary supported Cranes in Leeds and Islington. Ive had a look for the Whitelands album it seems to be sold out on Bandcamp . The Brudanhall Club in Leeds is quite small so it was easy to speak to both bands
I love that Xymox record. I’m really hoping they reissue their debut as well. My local record shop was having a Memorial Day sale so I was able to grab a few gems: The House of Love, The Jesus and Mary Chain “Barbed Wire Kisses,” the 3-lp set Art Devo, Ultra Vivid Scene and a Midge Ure solo record. Very satisfied with my finds since those typically don’t show up in the wild in my area very often. Great video. Keep ‘em coming.
Dang, Steve! What a great haul! Which Ultra Vivid Scene?
@@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog The 1988 debut.
Excellent. Underrated.
Hello I just wanted to know if the xymox on red vinyl?
Hi Carlos! The one that I showed was an original black vinyl copy from 1989.
