Hi kev thanks so much for uploading again happy 2023 mate to u and your family 👪 look forward to see the rest off the main stand getting done thanks again alan
The rail seating that the club initially installed (1800 seats at the top of the Kop and 7000 in the lower Anfield Road tier) was a directive from the Sports Stadium Safety Advisory Group, it was considered necessary due to the persistent standing in those areas. The additional rails that have been installed on the Kop was a club initiative but Anfield is still an all seater stadium with no designated 'Safe Standing' areas. It's quite likely that at some time in the future the club might apply to trial safe standing in those areas though. NOTE: if we ever do introduce safe standing at Anfield it will not increase capacity, the seats will remain in all standing areas which will give the stewards total control and ensure no overcrowding in the safe standing blocks.
The club actually volunteered to take part in the Safe Standing trial after discussions with the Hillsbrough families support group. It wasnt a directive from the Sports Stadium Safety Advisory Group to install them at all.
@@1701_FyldeFlyer That's simply not correct mate, the first installation of rails on the upper Kop and the lower Annie Road stand was 100% a directive from the Safety Advisory Authority, we were one of seven Premier League clubs instructed to install them. The club has NOT applied to trial safe standing and those clubs that have introduced Safe Standing areas this season all had to make a separate application to trial it, something the club declined to do. Due to the sensitive nature of safe standing the club doesn't want to take the lead on this and is delaying any decision until the end of this season and subject to whether the clubs trialling it are granted permission to make it a permanent feature. We'll almost certainly apply at some time in the future once those trials are complete and the present legislation changes to permit it's use in all stadiums.
I was at The Rolling Stones concert last year and two guys in front of me were stood up dancing. Clearly had a few before the concert started. They both went forwards and fell over the seats in front. I think they went down 2-3 rows. Stewards helped with first aid, but I was told they did go to hospital.
Hi Kev, thanks for your latest video. Nice to see some people on every level working again. Cracking video as always. Happy New Year and keep up the good work 👏🏼 Kev
Happy New Year Kev..I've just ordered a drone..read up on a few and decided to buy a Qinux k8 as it had a 50% discount..hopefully get it up in the sky at Stanley Park soon after a few self taught lessons in the back garden.
Why didn’t they install the same removable seating that they have in the Yellow wall Dortmund, that’s safe standing and adds capacity for non European games. (Euro 2024 UEFA are considering allowing the standing area in German stadiums).
It's odd because it is where the old Kemlyn Road stand, now SKD Lower, ended and the old ARE standing terrace ended. When the old ARE terrace was converted to seating and the now SKD Upper was built, the club maximised the space in this corner and inserted seats that dont actually face the pitch. There isnt much the club can do to update this. If they made it curved to look better, they'd lose a good 100 seats.
I sit in the Kop & the rail seating is awful, when var decides whether we've scored or not I bang my elbows hips, ribs & every other body part. Much better before they installed them. Shite.
@@fromthefountofyouth That so stupid. Rail seats will encourage people to stand. They can’t put them in and then expect that people won’t want to stand.
@@TheMagicianBee No, it isn't stupid. Think of the rails as a preemptive safety measure to prevent a disaster in the event of a crush and not a licence to stand all through a match. We know fans, or at least a majority, stand all through a match in the Kop though.
@@fromthefountofyouth There isn’t going to be a ‘crush’ in an all seater stadium. Rail seats are specifically designed for standing sections in sporting grounds so that people can freely stand without worrying they will fall over the seats in front. In England they are only used in standing sections apart from at Anfield.
What?! Generally, stadium roofs are not flat, they slope front to back. In the UK, to get best solar production, panels need to be angled, south facing and peak production is usually about noon to about 3pm with the majority of matches kicking off after these times. Stadium roofs are also a lot higher than a house so far more exposed to strong winds. The panels arent good enough to power the floodlights and the sun doesnt shine much after4-6pm so no use for night matches. In essence, solar panels arent much use for football stadiums.
I am really not convinced by this reply, it is very English, almost seeking for a reason to justify doing nothing. We will of course do this when an EU Country proved it's worth.

Thanks mate, it’s good to be back
In honesty I'm surprised the lack of lads working on site ...thought it'd be swarmed inside now moving it forward
Happy to see they also started to build the scaffolds to start the brickwork
Great to see you back mate. Happy New year!

Yeah I think it’s an ongoing problem, that needs a solution.

Take it to a park or big open space for your first flight. Less chance of crashing it that way. Also don’t take it out on a windy day.
@@Kevcupo thanks for the advice mate

It’s considered rail seating, rather than safe standing.
Finally there is people on the roof
Am I wrong here but will some seats in ARE have better view of the Centenary Stand than the pitch ?
Not according to the computer generated designs mate, it looks like you won’t see the KDS stand at all from certain parts of the stand.
Won't the sir Kenny dalglish stand roof restrict the view of those on left hand side of top tier of new anfield road stand?
No, it will be cut away accordingly. Like they did with the Kop.
@@Kevcupo
I was wondering how they would do that. Thanks.
hi kc imageworks have the contractors removed some of the new concrete flooring where the floor is black in 4 places and if they have why?
No mate the concrete hasn't been removed, the black product being laid is a waterproof sealant, without it the concrete would be porous.

Hi Kev, we’re you a steward on the KOP against Wolves block 305?
No mate, I was on 306 for Wolves. The lad on 305 is also called Kev.

I have a question regarding the city of Liverpool, how many people live in Liverpool?.
@@trigjosh thanks very small city compared to Manchester.
@@pauldalli7009 but they still sell every seat unlike Man City
google will give you a more accurate number but i believe its over 900,000
Circa 550k with a Liverpool postcode, circa 1.5 million in the wider Merseyside area.
@@pauldalli7009 population wise Manchester not much bigger than Liverpool,it's greater Manchester that makes a big difference with that of Merseyside.
Rail Seating is to allow standing.
But the club still implore fans to sit majority of the time though.

No it's not, see my comment above which explains why.
Why do sports arenas with enormous flat roofs not put solar panels on them, it would surely be a very economic thing to do.

@peter feltham Agree mate- it's not as if the stadium isn't using power throughout the day.
Four stands and all four different...
This is not Liverpool worth.
Time for a brand new Stadium I believe.
