Bought the Pro-Quad because of this video. At the time I was brand new to the sport. Ruined 2 WL Toys Sky Kings, (was on my 3rd Sky King...) and feeling like I was ready to make the jump to a real RC plane and bought an Apprentice 15s and a Spektrum DX-8 Gen. I thought the charger that came with the Apprentice was going to be the last charger I'd ever need. Eflite- You sent me a Battery Charger that needed a battery to charge my battery! Thanks to the RC Saylors I couldn't fly worth a darn, but I had the coolest charger at the field. (I thought DR/Expo was for experienced fliers, so I was fly at 100%, 0% expo....) Thanks again for the heads up on this. Best purchase I made getting started.
This was the one! This is the video that I stumbled on the Saylors. I had been in the sport for about a month, had just bought an E-Flite Apprentice, and a Spektrum DX8 Gen2. To this day I can’t believe Horizon Hobby sent me a battery charger in with the Apprentice BNF that required a battery to charge a battery.... $259.00 for the plane, $350.00 for and then another $300+ for a battery charger. That was an expensive month! My thought was- “All you ever wanted to do was be able to fly a P-51, F-4 Corsair and a Spitfire. $300.00 a plane divided by the rest of my life, I won’t need another plane, charger, battery (if I buy only 3s airplanes) and a transmitter. I’m halfway done on spending money on this hobby!” 40 planes later, 2 extra Spektrum transmitters, 100+ batteries... well I was a little off on expenditures.
just ordered mine from horizon Hobby for less then $207.00 use a promo code and it drops to less then $187 shipped! can't wait to try it out. thanks for the review I'm sold
I’m a newbie from the UK just getting into RC traxxas cars - I’m running 8.4V 5000mah nimh batteries and am looking to charge my 2 Non Traxxas batteries at the same time in the UK.Would anyone know if this is available here? Thanks :-)
love these chargers! I volunteered in Flitetest store most of the FliteFest 2016 and didn't fly but about 5 min while there. So I didn't see Venom until Sunday after every one was leaving. When I seen this is fell in love. I'm super new to the rc hobby and only have 1 charger that is the most simplest of chargers. So as my passion grows for the hobby I have decided I not only want this but definitely NEED it ;-) Thanks for your review of it. It's great to have someone's opinion you trust on things you want and aren't exactly cheap!
We do our best to bring stuff to the channel that could save money and time to anyone in the hobby. We are just blown away by the quality of this charger. It's perfect if you are flying and driving things similar to what we feature on the channel. Thanks so much for watching!
Sad day yesterday. I lost Channel 2 years ago, but the Quad Pro (it was actually the Tri Pro) lost Channel 3 as well. (Channel 2 and 3 would work on any other type of battery except Lipo. Like- Twice this month I ran a battery down to 8% range, and the Spektrum Smart Charger rejected both. Even though Channel 2 wouldn’t a lipo, it allowed me to treat it like a NiCd battery and charge at 0.1 amp till I got the 4s 2200 30c Smart G2 charged enough to lipo charge it. (That battery and the other that was run down are both in a Lipo Bag, inside an metal ammo box charged to Storage rate) I’m thinking close to 6 years I had the Quad Pro, I mean the Tri Pro and now the Bi Pro. Being a fan of Venom I ordered a new Quad Pro. Good product. Hope I get 6 years out of the new one.
I just ordered this thru venum I met this to in KY an there baby. Very nice to young people. If u don't I'm the truck driver. U met. Good product venum. I have a pro to chargeing my 6s. Battery for my truck. I got a reverse polarity on my pro 2. Charger . I only had for to years. Call up venum. They gave me fourty percent off a new 1. Can't wait to get this bad boy.
Awesome, I wish I had this one for my savage flux setup and my 4 year old sons LaTrax. I bought the Venom ProDuo which is great but is doesn't have usb ports and the 100W would be nice. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the great review. Just bought my Venom Quad Charger. It's a big upgrade for me. I've been using a Traxxas 2s/3s balance charger that only charges at 800 mAh(very slow). 5 Amps + is going to feel like a Ferrari. :-)
Great charger guys I actually own a Venom Pro Dual Charger I have owned it now for around 18 months and have had no issues and after seeing you both at Flitefest at the Venom tent and seen the quad I have wanted one so when I have the funds the Venom Pro Quad will be my next investment, thankyou for sharing that video 2 thumbs up.
Has anyone come across an error code “COMP FIN”? One channel stops the cycle and displays that. I can’t find any reference to that anywhere (not even the manual)
100 watts isn't much for not much more money you could grab a duo 1000 watt charge and a parallel chargeI board. I charge a ton of batteries. my 6s 5000 heli packs I charge 6 at a time at 40 amps to charge those on that venom would take forever like hours and hours. I have found higher wattage and a good parallel board will serve you much better then a more ports at lower watts. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the comment Robert! This charger was certainly not developed for 6S high cell count, high capacity batteries. The average hobbyist is charging 1S-4S packs that are 5000mAh and less. For those folks (80% of the market) this is an excellent choice. If you need a high power charging solution I highly recommend you check out our 1350W charger and power supply combo. Look for the "Pro Touch Charger" on our site. (The link is in the Saylor's description.) :-) Thanks again Robert! We appreciate everyone's feedback on our products.
hey so i got a dynamite vision peak ultra lipo charger and i noticed it doesn't have a lipo balance port thing how come its made like that? is it safe to charge a lipo
Awesome Charger. I charge up to 6 lipos at a time with my 4 button charger but that's with a parallel board so you can only charge like to like batteries discharged to similar voltage. This charger looks pretty awesome!
I have that charger is the best. I do ballance only, but heard it is not good to only ballance need to charge too. After how many charger cycle do i need to ballance my battery
I'm not sure that makes much sense my friend. Of course you need to charge your batteries, but a balance comes in to play if your cells are not the same.
can someone help me i just got the Venom pro quad charger (100W X4 Power) and I have a Flight power Eon 4350 mah 4s 14.8v lipo battery that has a balance plug that has 6 hole in the black plug, (1 black wire and 5 red wires) now since the battery is 4s, I try to plug the balance plug from the battery to the JST XH Adapter into the 4s slot and that slot only has 5 pins sticking up it will not work, so what am I to do? And the same goes for my Thunder Power battery that is a 3900 mah 5s 18.5v battery that has 6 Wires and 6 holes in the plug but there are 6 pins in the adapter but they are more spread out compared to the plug on the battery and the same for my Thunder Power 5000 mah 6s 22.2v 45c battery that has 2 balance plugs (4 wires on one balance plug and 5 Wiesbaden on the other balance plug). I have no idea what to do, maybe call Venom.
Hi Leonard! Sorry you're having a hard time charging your batteries with our charger. ThunderPower batteries use a balance connector that's different from the industry standard. There are aftermarket balance boards that include a Thunder Power connector that you will have to use if you intend on balance charging. You can, however, charge you batteries (without balancing) on the standard LiPo charge setting if you're in a pinch. We hope this info helps!
Venom is my favorite brand of battery. I have one for my Apprentice and it has been my best battery so far,no puffys at all.I have a nice charger and thats never let me down. I finally figured out how to use,so wont be buying any thing else for a while. If I do need a new one,That would probably my choice of units. I hate complicated stuff so thats awesome. I do need a single cell charger.
They make a little mod thing that you plug in to the charger and you can charge 6 single cells at once on it, so you really could charge 24 at a time on this charger!!
Nate and Abby , what's the best way to dispose of lipo battery's that have started to puff up a little bit. I have one that will still charge okay but I just don't trust it anymore, thanks Mark 😣 😁
Hey Mark, that's a great question! We take all of our old batteries to a battery terminal. It's just a store that specializes in batteries for cars, four wheelers, motorcycles and things. They should take your old ones free of charge and dispose of them safely.
Hi, thanks for the informative video. I'm totally new to RC, I've ordered a WLToys 144001 which will be arriving later this week. I've done some research into batteries and chargers, and come to the conclusion I'd like a venom duo lipo charger. Unfortunately they seem out of stock until mid May. Can I safely use this with the stock charger without risk of fire/burning the house down? Where do you store/charge you batteries? Thanks!
nice video iam intersting on one venom quad, can you tell me please how much time you need ti charge a 3s 11,1v 3000mah? and 1 lipo 6s 22,2c 5000mah? thanks for help att francisco from bogota colombia
My bad Nate, I was trying to make a funny that your charger drained the power grid. If I had half as many toys as you, I'd definitely have/need that charger. Cheers!
Suuuup guys, chiming in a lil late here, I remember watching this vid a long time ago. What size 4s Lipo battery would you plug into the rear xt60 to charge some 1500mah 4s lipos in the field? Thanks!!!!
ON Storage charge have you used the discharge function ?? Will it really discharge at I amp ?? The DUO charger will only discharge at ( .03 amp ) !! Not 1 amp that is on the display !! Please let the truth be told . Thank You .
Good review like the format and the handle for sure. Man if you added a few parallel charging adapters you could really speed up your charging process. I always storage charged my batts i have a thunder power 1320 mah lipo from 07 still going strong.
Drool drool , LOL That charger is beast . :) I think I am gonna buy the micro quad 4 bay one this year. I just orderd some XT60 to deans converters for the green truck I just got! That is really cool that their batteries come with those I will check them out now. Nice video as always Saylors.
Although it's already been said twice, I'll go ahead and "charm" with a third response and say "Yes. This charge will allow each channel to have different cell counts, different chemistries, each with 100W dedicated to it."
Hi David! We have many 50C constant batteries as well as a few select LiHV packs. Check out our website (The link in the Saylor's description will get you there.) to see all we have to offer!
+Venom Group International okey dokey. hopefully y'all beat eBay on average at least with a reasonable amount of cycles or better. I'll be not buying quantity till I feel at least somewhat confident that all that be the case.
Hi Carter, to figure your max amp rate for a particular battery you need to take the wattage of the charger channel, (in this case, 100W) and divide it by the maximum voltage you're going to need to get the battery fully charged. (4.2v multiplied by the cell count. For your 3 cell battery you need 12.6v.) So if you divide 100 by 12.6 you get 7.94. That is the maximum charge rate for a 3S battery on a 100W charger. For a battery thats sitting at 3.3-3.5v per cell (discharged), it would take about 30-40 minutes to charge a 3S 5000mAh pack. You're going to get more than a 1C charge rate, but not quite a 2C charge rate (2C would be 10A for your example battery.) Hopefully this information helps!
I think this is a great charger for back at home when you don't care how long it takes but out in the field when you want to quickly charge and get back flying....not so much. that 100w I seems very limiting on everything above 3s. on 4s that's going to limit you to a max of probably real world 5amps and 6s only 3 amps or so. that's not even a 1c charge on mediem size batteries.
Hi Nathan! Thanks for your comment. A 4S battery will have a max charge rate of 6A on the Pro Quad, so if you're using 5000mAh packs, you're still able to get a little more than a 1C charge rate which is usually recommended for the best quality charge. This charger is an EXCELLENT field charger as you don't need a separate power supply, and you can charge 4 batteries at once (plus USB charging). In the hobby world, we've found that the majority of the batteries sold are 4S and under, so this charger has been built to meet the needs of those hobbyists. We have a high powered charging solution that provide 1350W with a 45A charge rate. I highly recommend you check out our Pro Touch charger and power supply combo if you need BIG power. :-) Thanks again for your comments Nathan! We appreciate it!
I didnt mean to say it was a bad charger and it is definitely a good deal for the price. Comparing this to almost anything else to get 4 chargers and a power supply that would support all of them....its a great price. Especially if you fly 2200'ish packs. I just meant that if you are in the field and want to do 2c on a 4000 or 6000 4s pack or say you have some of those graphene batteries and want to do 10c (!!!!) and get back flying really quick that this will not do that. On my 200% guinea pig im flying with 10,000mah 6s. I think this is an awesome charger and what you guys did at flitetest was really great. My main issue is with how chargers are advertised. People think that the 7a that is listed is for all voltages when in fact that is usually not the case. It is 7a at the lowest pack (2s). The 100w is actually the limiting factor and you will not get 7a on 6s. I got burned on another charger thinking i would get 10a on all packs. Maybe this is not the case with yours? I may just be transferring some of my frustration from that situation onto you guys. Sorry about that.
I was going to mention that too Nate, you need to invest in steel ammo cans or even make a bunker out of cement blocks for that basket of batterys you showed me. That has been nagging at me since I saw that. Dude, you seriously need to get all those batterys out of the house or in a fireproof box. You are sitting on a major house fire if that basket goes poof.
+Nathan Knight I picked up a couple at a yard sale ablut a week ago. 5 bucks each, they are the large size. I painted them red and put the words" Lipo batterys Caution" My Brother had one fire off by its self, luckly it was contained. He had just charged it,he said it was a few years old. He hasnt been flying in a few years, decided to get back into it and just threw that old battery on the charger. He has since replaced all his older batterys.
I love that thing but it is wayyyyy to expensive. I got a 30ish dollar charger that does everything that thing does. It is 6 amps, 80watts, And can charge all different batteries including car batteries which is also useful for me because that is my other hobby, real cars. It is called the imax b6 balance charger.
Kimchi Koalaa because those planes take batteries and batteries need charging? I'm not entirely sure you thought to hard before you wrote that... but it's okay.. we won't judge (:

I HAVE HAD ALMOST EVERY CHARGER IN THE LAST 30 OR SO YEARS, AND THIS PROQUAD IS SWEET. I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK.
I've been thinking of getting this charger, would you know charging time for 4 x 4s 5000mah batteries going at once?
I’m a newbie from the UK just getting into RC traxxas cars - I’m running 8.4V 5000mah nimh batteries and am looking to charge my 2 Non Traxxas batteries at the same time in the UK.Would anyone know if this is available here? Thanks :-)

This is the Best Mini Quad Charger out there hands down. Hyperion for the win. That's where I got mine
Great charger. I will set up a savings fund in my budget to get one of these. Thanks for the info on it
I'd say this one needs to go in everyone's rc tools for sure :-D
Good review. Ordered one for my numerous, larger 6 cell batts.
They may take a little while to charge but hey, 4 at a time!!! Woot!
I went to flitefest and I let the guys at venom charge my batteries. I got the duo charger and it is amazing
Wow just bought the duo pro a few months ago and loving it. I would have waited for this model if I would have known!
Thank you two for doing an honest review on this charger. it makes my decision to purchase one easier.
Hey absolutely Clay, we use this charger Daily now and just love it.
I don't even have 4 battery's yet I am buying one😂
You'll use thus charger for years to come :) I love mine!
I dont use it for charging at all, I get one too
Awesome, I wish I had this one for my savage flux setup and my 4 year old sons LaTrax.
You are going to absolutely love this beast of a charger!
Jeff Cuthbertson I have the traxxas charger and I have a lot of problems with it
Great charger guys I actually own a Venom Pro Dual Charger I have owned it now for around 18 months and have had no issues and after seeing you both at Flitefest at the Venom tent and seen the quad I have wanted one so when I have the funds the Venom Pro Quad will be my next investment, thankyou for sharing that video 2 thumbs up.
Has anyone come across an error code “COMP FIN”? One channel stops the cycle and displays that. I can’t find any reference to that anywhere (not even the manual)
You really needed this charger for sure! Awesome review! Thank you!
LOVE this charger :)

hey so i got a dynamite vision peak ultra lipo charger and i noticed it doesn't have a lipo balance port thing how come its made like that? is it safe to charge a lipo
That thing is a BEAST! Thanks for sharing!
Definitely! Thanks for watching!
Awesome I know where to drop off all my lipos now 👍🏼
I'll gladly charge them up for ya!
Nice overview of the new Venom ProQuad Charger. You have an impressive collection of LiPos!
Probably going to hold off on getting any more for quite some time now. Thanks though!
Hi guys...i have a question ...can this venom quad charger balance/charge my 3s , 9000mah 60 C lipos?
It will charge it, but at only 1C or slightly less. 100w/11.1v=9a
If you are asking this, you need to read up.
Why wouldn't it
Edwin Cordero probably but at less than 1C
How would I be able to use this to charge 4 Hubsan Zino 2 batteries at once?
Great review, Sold. Quad. Gotta have it.
Thx Sailors.
Absolutely! You're going to LOVE this charger :) We still use ours Every Day!!
Been looking for a review on this charger, yours was the first that I have seen thanks.
Definitely! Thanks for stopping by!
PS I USE A OLD METAL ARMY AMMO BOX ITS FIRE PROOF, I PUT MY LIPO BAG INSIDE FOR 2X PROTECTION. YOU CAN GET THEM ON EBAY FOR AROUND 20 BUCKS
Great video. I just ordered this charger as well. Its a monster and I don't actually see a need for another charger anytime soon.
if u want a really nice lipo go with the Orion 4500 really nice battery ,ive had Venom lipos, dont care for them ..
Can you parallel charge with this thing
Awesome Charger. I charge up to 6 lipos at a time with my 4 button charger but that's with a parallel board so you can only charge like to like batteries discharged to similar voltage. This charger looks pretty awesome!
This is just a perfect set up for us. I encourage you save up for it. You will be impressed I'm sure. Thanks for watching!
I have that charger is the best. I do ballance only, but heard it is not good to only ballance need to charge too.
After how many charger cycle do i need to ballance my battery
I'm not sure that makes much sense my friend. Of course you need to charge your batteries, but a balance comes in to play if your cells are not the same.
when you charge 4 battery do all 4 light be own at the same time.
does it have a battery so you can take it to the field and charge the lipos there
You can hook it up to your car battery :)
can someone help me i just got the Venom pro quad charger (100W X4 Power) and I have a Flight power Eon 4350 mah 4s 14.8v lipo battery that has a balance plug that has 6 hole in the black plug, (1 black wire and 5 red wires) now since the battery is 4s, I try to plug the balance plug from the battery to the JST XH Adapter into the 4s slot and that slot only has 5 pins sticking up it will not work, so what am I to do? Will that charger let you charge 4 X 5000mah lipos at 2c at the same time?
I've never tried to push past 1c but I don't see why not. It can do 4 5000 mah no problem at 1c :-)
Great video guys!!!
Thanks a lot!
Looks pretty good. Is there a reseller/distributer shipping from the EU?
Hmm, I'm not sure. I have seen this on Towerhobbies though.
Thanks guys! Your awesome
Thanks for stopping by!
great to see its auto switch so I can buy one for Australia
Ohhh I think you got the last of those multi adapter for charging 1s batteries :(
They will stock them back up ;-) very handy to have! 6 little bats at once!
I have a 3s 8p battery (somewhere around 17,000 mah), it has built in balancing, 40 amp continuous output, and 1 2200mah 2s and a tiny 1000mah 3s
nice video iam intersting on one venom quad, can you tell me please how much time you need ti charge a 3s 11,1v 3000mah? and 1 lipo 6s 22,2c 5000mah? thanks for help
att francisco from bogota colombia
Noob to the rc world here. What charger will show me the % of the battery? I am using the smc 3s and 4s 9000 mAh lipos
Do the lights on your block dim when you have all 4 ports charging?
Umm.. I honestly can't remember. I don't think they do. Pretty sure it's always back lit, though you might be able to change that in the settings.
My bad Nate, I was trying to make a funny that your charger drained the power grid.
If I had half as many toys as you, I'd definitely have/need that charger.
Cheers!
Oh gosh, lol. Gotchya!
Suuuup guys, chiming in a lil late here, I remember watching this vid a long time ago. What size 4s Lipo battery would you plug into the rear xt60 to charge some 1500mah 4s lipos in the field? Thanks!!!!
If you want a cheaper one the pro duo is $100
Very good point, we love the Pro Duo ❤😃👍⚓
ON Storage charge have you used the discharge function ?? Will it really discharge at I amp ?? The DUO charger will only discharge at ( .03 amp ) !! Not 1 amp that is on the display !! Please let the truth be told . Thank You .
Been using it for about 3-4 months. Works good. Suggest it.
Glad you agree :)
Time to save up and get this charger!
Absolutely! A must have for your rc collection :-)

Howdo u charge an lihv on this?
Good review like the format and the handle for sure. Man if you added a few parallel charging adapters you could really speed up your charging process. I always storage charged my batts i have a thunder power 1320 mah lipo from 07 still going strong.
Ooh wow! 07 bats and still going :-) Thanks for watching Skiman!
Drool drool , LOL That charger is beast . :) I think I am gonna buy the micro quad 4 bay one this year. I just orderd some XT60 to deans converters for the green truck I just got! That is really cool that their batteries come with those I will check them out now. Nice video as always Saylors.
The quad micro is awesome. ruclips.net/video/wvGQHJWbbmE/видео.html
But its ONLY 100 watts total....so If I had my 24s 8p Lipo pack hooked up I would be lucky to get 3 amp charge
100w / channel, but yea, 24s, get something else...
Im new to the hobby but was wondering can this thing charge different cell and mah batteries at the same time?
Yes it can :)
ok, nice yeah I have a few 2s and 3s but I notice not many chargers can do 1s but I guess not many people use nanos
You need an adapter as shown in this video to do 1s.
Hey Saylors. You may have mentioned at the beginning but could you do two 2 cell and two 3 cells at the same time?
Thanks Honest, you are correct :-)
Although it's already been said twice, I'll go ahead and "charm" with a third response and say "Yes. This charge will allow each channel to have different cell counts, different chemistries, each with 100W dedicated to it."
Them Venom batteries either high voltage or high c? 50C constant?
How long would it take to charge a 3s 5000 mah battery on this
Hi Carter, to figure your max amp rate for a particular battery you need to take the wattage of the charger channel, (in this case, 100W) and divide it by the maximum voltage you're going to need to get the battery fully charged. You're going to get more than a 1C charge rate, but not quite a 2C charge rate (2C would be 10A for your example battery.)
Hopefully this information helps!
Very informative Venom, thank you!
Great vid guys!!
Thanks a lot!
I don't know about you guys but I'm running out of room for all my rc stuff
You have no idea...
Can it charge a 4s?
Absolutely! It'll charge up to 6s :-)
I'm thinking about getting this. How do you like it now?
We love it! It is our main battery charger. Worth its weight in gold!
that's just like my Hitec x4 chager .. does all the same stuff . besides the USB stuff
That is why i am getting this one
Will only charge 6s up to 4 amps . Not 7. False advertising
I was going to mention that too Nate, you need to invest in steel ammo cans or even make a bunker out of cement blocks for that basket of batterys you showed me. That has been nagging at me since I saw that. Dude, you seriously need to get all those batterys out of the house or in a fireproof box. You are sitting on a major house fire if that basket goes poof.
costso has 2 metal ammo cans for $20 right now!
or do what the flashgangster do, get a metal coleman camping oven and convert to charging station.
I like you guys, keep up the videos.
Thank you very much John!
I just orderd mine
Sweet! You'll love this charger!
TheRcSaylors I hope i will
Nice video i love it!!
Do you have thought about buying a Traxxas rc for the channel?
Thanks a lot RCH. You know, I've been thinking about picking one up. Maybe it'd be a good Christmas item?
+TheRcSaylors your welcome
Yes, thats a good brand and fun!!
Jesus that was a lot of batteries. lol 50 more subs to go! 😉
I don't think we ever imagined our channel would grow to such numbers!
Nice guys!
Thanks mt!
I love that thing but it is wayyyyy to expensive. I got a 30ish dollar charger that does everything that thing does. It is 6 amps, 80watts,
And can charge all different batteries including car batteries which is also useful for me because that is my other hobby, real cars. It is called the imax b6 balance charger.
The pro duo is only $100
is there a promo code?
Unfortunately no. But this is our favorite rc charger.
please unbox and test gw008c mini skull drone from bangood
We have covered the skull drone :)
you guys did a nice review but this thing is a toy. there are so much better chargers for far less money out there that do all of this and more.
been here, watched that😉
:-)
1
hi guys tht is sweet
Why do you need a Venom charger, you fly toy planes
Kimchi Koalaa because those planes take batteries and batteries need charging? I'm not entirely sure you thought to hard before you wrote that... but it's okay.. we won't judge (:
