What's great about this type of work is - - NO phones, NO people to deal with while working. NO stupid questions that you get in different types of jobs! Only one question, Can you read that back?

As a proofreader for court reporters it is always fun to see how each different #courtreporter goes about creating the transcripts I #proofread for them.

You probably won't see this, but I went to school with the report in this video and we learned the same theory. in most theories PW is literally just the letter "B" and because the word about comes up so often in conversation, we shorten it to just that one letter on that left side of the machine, this way we can combine it with other lettters and fingers to create groups of words, such as PB-T would be "about the" or PBEU would be "about in".

All do respect she doesn't seem like a good teacher, and I'm pretty sure the news is telling her to make it sound harder for their story

False. Court reporting is very hard. 97% of students who try fail at it. It's technically easier to become an attorney or a doctor than it is to be a court reporter. It's a very highly specialized skill that only a small minority is able to do.

@@SkyyPiano although you're right that court reporting is very hard, dropout rate also isn't equal to difficulty of the profession, most people don't know what they're getting into with court reporting and assume it'll be easy, and drop out when they realize it's not. people who try to become attorneys or doctors understand to some degree the difficulty involved, though there's still plenty of dropouts
