But why do you have to sell the gold reserve? You can still increase the market of a stable coin to 10T and keep the gold reserve. If we sell the gold, we encourage China to come up with a quantum computer just to crash Bitcoin. They would have every incentive to do so bcz their currency would be back by gold that would still be needed for industrial and jewelry purposes and a week USDT/USD is a strong Brics currency backed by gold. To your first question I believe he answered that buying MSTR is a way for institutions, who may not be allowed to invest in crypto, to indirectly invest in crypto.
@richc2596 if an institution can't buy Bitcoin, it should not be permitted to buy MSTR because it's a holding Corp for Bitcoin with no other substantial purpose, which is why it's valuation doesn't make sense.

The problem is gold is only a good physical money. Once its used in banking its rehypothecated. In physical form it cannot keep up so it will be abstracted. If I am going to use an abstraction its going to be one like bitcoin where I can see it in its entirety , is decentralized and cannot be changed. Gold backed by definition cannot do this because its based on unverifiable piles of gold.
@@James-u6y Gold is not only good for physical money, it is also good for use in fields of medicine, manufacturing, and technology. This is why gold and other precious metals will always be useful and valuable in ways you can't say about Bitcoin or other forms of cryptocurrency.

It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but at a 2+ trillion dollar market cap i think its time to move bitcoin out of the "scam" bucket and really consider its validity as a new economic vehicle and asset class.

So glad it helped. It took me ages to get my head wrapped around even half of it.
Saylor will go down as one of the Geniuses of our time! Such a visionary!
I would love to see a conversation between Michael Saylor and Peter Schiff that’s mediated by Tom. Imagine the the insights we would get from a BTC Bull debating a Gold Bull on which asset is superior. Let’s make it happen!
I’ve tried.
I second this.
@@TomBilyeu it be cool if you all could solve what stopping this from happening.
I don't know of any Saylor/Schiff videos. The Raoul Paul Peter Schiff one is good though.

@@trockmalone007 up until now, Saylor and Schiff haven’t debated over BTC/Gold. I think Tom could do a good job mediating this debate because he’s knowledgeable about the subject and he’s a good communicator
hands down, Tom is the best interviewer I've seen handling Saylor.
Thanks for having Saylor on! Great pod theory!
Gotta love this guy. I Always respect ppl who is thinking out of box. Saylor is a G.O.A.T
Always big time with saylor..🎉
Best Saylor interview in ages. He looked liked he needed a lay down after. Great job by both of you!!
most people didn't read ebook Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki and that's why they're stuck in a trance for so long
??
I think that Tom does a good job in this interview, I have watched several Saylor interviews and podcasts and have rarely found anyone that can push back on the things he says. I’m not advocating for combativeness for combativeness sake, but as a way to extract Saylor’s best ideas where he otherwise just talks over the interviewer the whole time while they nod in agreement
Michael Saylor will go down in history. “ 95% of the world still doesn’t know what BTC is”… this is like finding gold nuggets in the creeks of California before the gold rush.
I like Tom and his videos! Thanks for the guest! A very informative interview! Of course, there is something to ask Michael Saylor about.
Michael Saylor puts enormous intellectual effort into these educational Q&A sessions. That makes him a very generous man in my estimation and I thank him for it.
As a kid I came across bitcoin when it was around $12. Researched it and thought it could be the future of money and wanted to invest $200 into it, but you had to be more tech smart to buy it back then so I gave up. Still kept an eye on it later saw it when it was $200 and was kicking myself for not getting it at $12. Little did I know...
99%+ chance you would've sold. Don't beat yourself up about it
Bitcoin is such a nascent asset class, far from a bubble. Just getting started. Has a long way to go. It’s in the first inning of its story.
wishfull thinking
@ if you say so. You’re entitled to your opinion.
I can't think of anyone else, besides, michael saylor, that I would listen to for over two hours
Sailor is not gasping for breath, he's exasperated and trying not to get annoyed because he can't understand why Tom has to repeat everything he says back to him in a convoluted way that is much harder to understand than Sailors analogies. I feel the same way.
It's often kinda painful listening to Tom, but he has some nice guests..
57:52 MSTR is the first heat exchanger from BTC economic volatility to Stock exchange economic volatility. Well done! Now I can read and speak saylor nativ. Thanks a lot !
I’ve watched every Michael Saylor interview and podcast and this is one of the best. Thank you
Glad it added value!
Definitely not from my perspective

IMO, Tom did a great job interviewing here and frankly did a better job than most people who bring on Saylor. Great work!
Thanks @samvkul !

Listening to Saylors PoV on BTC is inspiring everytime. A true visionaire in the space 🙌
I see Bitcoin ETF as a revolutionary move in finance. Bought a lot in October, recently sold $200,000 worth for cash. If you missed this, listening to bad news all year cost you some incredible profits.

Saylor is a money genius and the king of metaphors. I LOVE IT!!!😂😂😂😂
Wow Micheal is on another level. He really has some great ideas and explains things very well
I am sure Saylor will be one of the greatest in modern history of economics. The one and only that convinced people to go from pseudoeconomics to real economics.
I effing love Saylors analogies. 😅😅He is the king!!
The GOAT MICHAEL SAILOR!!!
Tom these are the best questions Michael has ever been asked. Well done
This is where I have to agree with Peter Schiff. This mindset would be public energy number 1.
I invented a metaphor that micheal can use. It goes, bitcoin is like a new type of coffee mug that keeps your coffee hot for infinity.
43:00. Sorry Tom….but why are you even bothering to re-explain the pretty clear and apt Waterfall metaphor MS uses only to replace it with your Siphon idea that neglects to highlight the unquestionable energy state ratio that the Waterfall captures perfectly. It doesn’t really need the added noise.
He was trying, I think, to capture an additional point about the flow being perpetuated only after being kickstarted.
@ Indeed. The point of using the waterfall example though is to highlight that no kickstart is necessary. First principles potential is inherently always waiting to rebalance.
I second that, you've articulated that well. Tom, i admire the way you rephrase or validate a point or even conveying your idea across. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Appreciate it.
Wish the following questions had been asked:
1) Why buy MSTR stock when you can just buy Bitcoin?
2) If MSTR stock has a market cap valu of $92 Billion, but only holds $42 Billion in Bitcoin, where is the extra $50 Billion in market cap coming from?...🤔🤔🤔🤔
Doesn't compute why you'd buy his stock.
@@Kornheiser10 one example, u can borrow against your holdings in publicly traded companies. With crypto, while I think it may be possible, is more complicated due to the nature of crypto security/wallets/storage etc and riskier as the lenders tend not to be as reliable as big banks that usually take care of it.
Also that he’s been able to create a variety of risk levels for investors by creating a bunch of financial assets on top of MSTR.

First. Thank you Tom for bringing us more Michael Salyer. Second, when you don’t know what to say, resist just restating what your guest says but in a less elegant way.
Way to hang in there Tom! Not easy to stay with Saylor but love listening.
We’re just seeing the start of Bitcoin’s parabolic phase. There might be slight retraces, but we still have months to go. I believe we will peak at $150,000 in 2025.
Exact plan; Crypto through 2025, then high yield ETFs through the bear market 26’-27’
I have $50,000 in the money market that I want to move into stocks & bitcoin, but I’m scared of buying at the top. Any suggestions?

Saylor has been working hard for bitcoin. Try to educate people. I m appreciated. Thank you so much
Saylor is such a genius real legend
Agree with almost everything about the new digital money. Am an investor in it since btc was $500 My only issue is if and when the power goes out???????
I really have come to like what Michael has to say, and that's regardless of the outcome of Bitcoin. The blockchain shows so much promise outside of which cryptocurrency/ies are predominant. I'm pretty strongly aligned with Peter Schiff's mentality, and usually the people who love him hate Michael Saylor. Lol.
You can use gold to help you design and make the inner circuitry of your computer for instance. Can you do the same thing with Bitcoin? Etherium even? I doubt it. This is why gold and other precious metals will always be useful and valuable in ways you can't say about Bitcoin or other forms of cryptocurrency.

Thank you for asking important and precise questions! Very informative podcast.
Truly a pleasure.
Michael Saylor absolutely to be put in the list of Bohm Bawerk, Von Mises, Rothbard and Hoppe.
Having read the comments i have a feeling many people commenting havent spent much time learning about bitcoin.
I was a big skeptic too until i did quite a bit of reading on it. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but at a 2+ trillion dollar market cap i think its time to move bitcoin out of the "scam" bucket and really consider its validity as a new economic vehicle and asset class.
Say what you will, but you can’t buy Bitcoin without fiat currency. Fiat currency has its role.
I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2025, we'll start to see more market diversification. Considering the performance of bitcoin lately it is safe to say the crypto market is the best smart investment out there. Hoping I’m not the only one with this thought
