I think a video on the damage bonuses the church pick get would be good to make seeing as it's kind of weird not well known and commonly misunderstood. As far as I know basically: all of it's attacks that would be thrust get both a 20% righteous bonus and a 20% "beasthunter" bonus, beasthunter being different from serrated in that it affects far more enemies in the same way that beasthunter gems work, also I say "would be thrust" because if you convert it's damage type those same attacks still get the bonuses. Some people think it's that the transformed form gets both serrated and righteous bonus, but that's because all the attacks in that form are thrust.
That's basic information, the point was specifically for the L1's because it's a question about when the weapons status changes between the two and has the bonus damage, this test shows that the blunt to serrated transformation is treated as a blunt attack and the serrated to blunt form is treated as a serrated attack which to me makes sense because the attack is likely coded to whatever form the weapon was rather than what it will be.
It's likely coded to whatever form it is when you do the attack, might be worth testing if other weapons work like that for scaling changes like HMS is probably a big one or the Log Wheel since those go from physical to Arcane and pretty heavily in the Log Wheels case. See if there's a pattern or if it's a weapon by weapon thing
>HMS It doesn't have scaling change in the transformed mode docs.google.com/document/d/1kiO6niPXS3G5Lyf7u6ghS41TYJUlwplzesJ8DVQcp3w/edit?usp=sharing See entry 6 >Logarius Wheel Based on the Japanese wiki and my testing long ago, it's true that the L1 uses Transformed scaling, T.L1 uses Default scaling Much like the Cleaver, the transformation happens first, but no one cares Wheel L1 Attack lol The person who asked about the Cleaver was wondering because judging from the animation, it seems for both L1 and T.L1 use the "Serrated side" to hit the enemy; and since 20% is a big deal, I figured it's worth sharing Honestly since the day I learnt the truth, I use Cleaver L1 less often unless I'm using Beasthood on Physical build
When a character/enemy attack / jump / dodge / turn around, in certain frames of the animation they take 20%-40% more damage, this type of perfect timing attack is called open hits; vs open foe effect increase open hit damage multiplicatively
6 percent open foes wouldn't add to your weapon open damage, it only works against staggered foes. Unless you are counting making them stagger as you open the weapon as instantaneously being calculated. Now you got me curious, I gonna run some tests on non beasts and I'll get back to you with my results.
The 6% Open effect IS applied to Open hits (on foes during specific frames of their animation), as shown in the video below: ruclips.net/video/0Bs64q8N8u8/видео.html As for the Staggered Open hit (on foes who were backstabbed, before recovery), the 6% will NOT be applied, as shown in the video below: ruclips.net/video/p462BGvYZDU/видео.html Regular charged R2=1615, Backstabbed + charged R2=3391. The Backstabbed status has a 2.1 multiplier, which is the ratio of the above two numbers. The Open gem effect wasn't applied on such a damage.
yet another reason why Saw spear is king

The saw cleaver is only serrated on one side of the blade, whereas the saw spear is serrated on both sides

@@axis8396 wrong way round, also it ain't blunt either. Both forms deal regular physical damage, the serrated is a bonus and not a damage type.
This is basically the same thing affecting why weapons which are serrated in only one mode give their serration bonus on viscerals.
I'm the guy who asked
You saint
Thanks!

Thanks friend that was very interesting even if short
dan I never knew.. Thanks!!
So, in that case, both saw spear L1s are serrated, because it has serrated bonus in both forms, right?
What does the effect “atk VS open foes up” mean?

@@speedlee1243 thanks for responding. But in those 2 years i had learned what it meant. Thanks

@@speedlee1243 The more you know, mechanics in this game seem to be getting more and more complex the more you know. Thabks friend.
