Funniest part was Patrick trying to sweep the water outside, then gives up and cracks open a Tiger beer LOL. That's really the only thing you can do at this point if you didn't already have sandbags. Good luck man, hope there isn't too much damage.
When it’s dry out I would just take a trip sihanouville and bag up some sands from over there and save it for the raining season. Get a pick up truck and put in some work bro! Lol shake a leg not a beer! 😂
This seems to happen every year in Cambodia, imagine all the nasty bacteria spreading all over to everybody. Apparently the "great" Hun Sen Government cannot fix this issue because everybody pocketing or skimming all the money for themselves.
I'm always worried when walking in the flood water in Phuket because sometimes a power line goes down and you can get electrocuted. A few years ago a beach massage lady unfortunately had her two dogs electrocuted this way. It broke my heart. I threw tennis balls to those two dogs every afternoon. I still miss them. Be careful!
People live in Phnom-Penh need to have the concrete wall around their property and have sandbags ready for driveway. When the flood comes, just place sandbag at the driveway. Plus, they need to have water pump to pump out water in case water coming. Most homes in US have sump pump in the basement. The home builder will dig out a big hole about 1 meter deep by 0.75 meter diameter in the basement. Then, they just place the pump in that hole. They install 4" corrugated hoses from outside the house into the sump pump and a 2" PVC pipe from sump pump to outside the home.
I'm in Phnom Penh. I didn't even notice that there was much more rainfall than usual. The house I'm in is only a few feet higher than some around the corners from here that suffer from heavy rains. Well worth remembering when looking at rentals (for example). I notice up one end of your street looked like it wasn't under water. I think you have a slight problem with the gradient of your street. Cambodia isn't very good with drainage. Instead of getting depressed while trying to mop. I would have pulled apart a wire coat hanger and tried to clear the drains in the street from shopping bags. Phnom Penh drains are often small, silted up and very easy to block. It would be definitely worth a try anyway. Film where the drains are before your next storm so you know where the drains are, as all of that wooden furniture in your house will be destroyed if the water gets much higher.
Even back in the 1970 when I was about 10 years old and am still remembered flood in PP, but not this crazy. Only a low plan that got flood and now a day, it is almost everywhere in PP. the entire PP in needs the sewage system overhaul. You might need a flooding device to prevent the water coming into your house. They sell them in the US. A bit expensive though.
Glad to see your house is not actually ruined. Yesterday was a surprise! Toul Kork to TPP my moto got flooded 3 times from trucks driving fast creating big waves! It sucked!
Wow sorry you have to deals with the flood, water inside the house! Oh what a mess to clean up 🧼. Be careful with high levels of bacteria. Hopefully the water level go down soon
If you have a big bag of rice, you can portion it out into smaller plastic bags and use it as a temporary sand bag. But, you’ve got to put the bags outside of the door, not inside like you put the rags to stop the water.
This was the day the road started flooding, and me and my family got back from a giant mall which is probably known. It was July 3rd, and it had started raining. It got pretty worse and bad to the point where people were outside trying to cross roads and motorcycle through. We were driving and whilst trying to get back home, we unluckly found ourselves in a flooded road where we had to cautiously drive through. We looked out the window and were shocked. We were scared kind of, but it found it interesting since it doesnt flood much in Mesquite, Texas.
We have the same flooding here in Las Vegas the same rainy like they are throwing bucket 🪣 of water at you and here in Santa Monica California is similar to but raining like normally rain 🌧 drops
Sorry to see it Patrick. Every square foot of PP is pavement. Where can the water go? (Same problem as Houston when the hurricane hit in 2017. Uncontrolled urban sprawl.) It didn’t help that the government sells the lakes that the developers then fill in. Hope it ends quickly and you can get the sandbags.
hope everything works out good. i was stuck in the flood yesterday as well no tuk tuks would pick me up and i had to walk thru it home half an hour away soaked!
Damn! Flash floods are scary. I hope you can recover some of your personal items in your household. The only way to fix the flooding is to install storm drainage systems and have it drain out to the ocean.
All of Southeast Asia from Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam have bad water drainage systems. Which is why all those countries seem to have flooding problems.
There will be plenty of molds under the wooden floors. You will need to find away to clean them out completely after the rain stopped and the water receded. Mold are very hazardous and harmful to human and animal alike especially the baby, they can cause serious health problems if breath into the lung.
Do they have insurance there? It gets so humid you might get mold in the furniture and under the wood floors. Make sure you dont breath it in... especially Ava it will just keep growing until you get rid of it. It will hurt her internally. 🙏
Oh, my God . Malheureusement, le phénomène arrive de plus en plus.Il faut rehausser toute la maison au même niveau que les chambres. Bon courage Patrick.
Hate to see your house is flooded. What is the floor made of? tile or wood or synthetic? I hope it's tile. If it's wood, it's going to buckle, synthetic is going to come loose. Either of those, you have to replace them.
Patrick Phnom Penh city will be under the water forever no way to drain the water out of the city. Not even really heavy rain the whole city was flooding.
Hopefully things are ok for you now. Sorry to see that...Phnom Penh sewage system sucks...just build a million buildings without proper planning. Gonna be tough for people during rainy season.
I'm not surprising this happens. it will continue to do so unless trashes are in the bins not on streets. most likely they all stuffed by plastic bags and such! Our people of Cambodia still have so much to learn and so much to love then take for granted. I'm wondering if flooded water soaking up sky rise building's foundation and can not bear the heavy weight. That would be terrifying!
Oh my god, yeah some areas can be real bad like when i lived in Toul kork. I remember riding on a moto with my legs half in the air, half the moto was underwater 😅.
Hey Pat, this might not be appropriate to mention at this time, but you look great with the hair cut. Much younger looking. Sorry about what’s happening in Cambodia right now.
What really annoys me is that others just want to talk about wars to win. There is no winner against nature......we all lose while they are distracted.
The floods is a result from greeds by the riches, Vann Molyvann warned before his passing-don’t fills the mini lakes in pp for the sake of development.
@@TePanhchakreach It only needs to happen every once in a while to require adapted designs and architecture. They already know this in the khmer countryside where traditionally they have elevated houses, but it seems they couldn’t apply that wisdom during Phnom Penh’s boom of development. It only takes one time to,mess up your house and create uneeded trouble. It’s like saying that in areas where earthquakes are a risk, they shouldn’t use anti-earthquake architectural designs because « it doesn’t happen every time ». It only takes once to create a disaster, bro

My thoughts exactly
Yeah he lost that battle lol 😂
What a Bad time to visit! 😳😳🤦🏻♀️☹️So sorry friends
Seem like the whole city is flooding. Everything inside the house damaged especially furniture.
When it’s dry out I would just take a trip sihanouville and bag up some sands from over there and save it for the raining season. Get a pick up truck and put in some work bro! Lol shake a leg not a beer! 😂
Bad rain water draining system in Cambodia. It’s everywhere in the city. The good needs to upgrade it

I wish in the future they build dams and drainage to help from flooding. So who ever build the roads did not put in drainage . 😢
Finger crossed 🤞 hopefully I don’t caught in the rain heading back to phnom penh next week. Be safe out there bro.

They all have one thing in common, corrupted government.
So sorry Patrick. I hope things will get better in Phnom Penh.
Ohh gosh.! Why the water raised up so high? I guess the sewer drainage’s not working. That’s crazy 😱🙏🙏🙏❤️💕🇰🇭
4 years in PP khmer still don't know to not cut the trees and not put concrete everywhere, here the result low level grownd get wet.
i love rainy season but the flood is a no no. this is nothing wait a few hundred years later. and i know how that is dragon need a lot of water
Try to use sand bags to help block water by the door is better .
They should it add sewer system in all around the Phnom Penh area.
the drainage in South East Asia is really bad. I have seen the same in Thailand, Vietnam...etc.
Very sad for you. Flash floods cause so much damage. I am glad that I live on the tenth floor of a condo. Hope you can recover from the damage.
A perk living in a condo for sure
@@CamboVlogs that's Cambodia Country 🇰🇭 you should know by now bacteria covid19 germs diseases should buy house 🏠 on hill or mountain ⛰ 🤔 😀

No worry. Most buildings in Cambodia were built one bucket of conrete mix at a time and they will last for at least a thousand years.

Flooding happens every year but for some reason, this year is just worst than the rest

I live in Phnom Penh it rain yesterday so hard and i also speak alots of khmer and some of english.
Créé metro sous-sol 😅 ?
That`s what happens. The water has nowhere to go. Because They filled the lake and swam land with dirt.
I’m sorry about the flood but 6:25 was that a reference to Michael Kelso? Lol
Yes thank you for catching that
Hi Patrick, watch your Blog sometime, that's very bad. Is that really Naturally floods, or something makes it worst. 👏👏🇰🇭🇰🇭🇺🇸🇺🇸🤨🤨🤨
Rainy season until November.
Sand bags and sump pump and you're golden
No sand bags available?

There don't seem to be drains in PP housing developments. I wonder if filling in Boeng Kak lake to build condos has been a good idea.
We need rain where I'm at. I'm from banteay meanchey
