  • Instinct Trail Running Reflex Belt Review. The humble running belt has become one of my most important items of running gear and I pretty much use one every time I head out for a run. Over the years I have run with lots of different types of belts and we've tested and reviewed a lot of different brands on the channel. Our wonderful viewers had been recommending that I tried out the Instinct Reflex running belt for a while now and finally I have done exactly that, and in this video we break down how the belt has performed.
    Thanks for watching, we'll see you in the next video and as always - stay safe and keep on running!

    Just bought one and tested it. Great product. I'm in the middle of the medium size and it fits nicely. ❤
    Watching your videos in France. Great job, thx!

    I bought one for RTTS 100k in 2022 and it held all my kit to save me using a race vest as it was so hot for the race....it's bloody brilliant...great review and keep up the great work

    Can't recommend this belt enough. Don't forget that the front pocket has the yellow inner side, so when you pull it open you know you are putting something into the pocket and not inside the belt band...and next thing you know, it drops of the ground. This feature has saved 2-3 potential gear losses. I use the front angled pocket for my mobile phone, and the front pull pouch for my soft flask.

      this happened to me once, i dropped my wallet and keys along the road. luckily no one picked it up for the 10mins that i felt i dropped it. i actually put it on the belt lining and not inside 🫣

    Thanks Loyd for that interesting review (as always ! ) It seems very well made and the breathability should be important on hotter weather. I recently bought the Evadict belt which has less storage capacity but a useful zipped waterproof pocket. Also for me is important to be able to adapt the sizing with the weight variating up to several kilogrammes...

    Thanks Loyd another informative video. I’ve been using the Decathlon belt for 6/8 months and love it, pound for pound I still think its probably the best option out there. Having tested a friends Naked belt and seeing the price difference I chose not to purchase. This kind of feels the same.

    I am using the Decathlon Evadict trail running shorts which have the belt built in. Front and rear zip pockets and 360 mesh.

    • @sicathcart4301
      @sicathcart4301 8 месяцев назад

      I also use the same shorts, have a couple of pairs and love them. Only thing I’m thinking re a belt is when I want to put some long bottoms on or waterproofs then I need some storage. Between this and the Evadict for me I think.

    This wasn't on my radar so thanks for this Loyd. You didn't discuss price/value as you often do. The compressport free belt pro definitely lacks those pull tabs for me and full soft flasks bounce too much in it.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  9 месяцев назад +2

      I mentioned the price in the video, it retails for around £40. I personally think for the way it performed that's good value 👍

    I run with an old Hoka branded Nathan Vaporkrar and I don’t want it to ever break, there are some small cinch straps to tighten up on a soft flask so it’s really stable, a zipped pocket so no worrying about losing keys, side pockets for some snacks/gloves etc, it won’t take a phone but I prefer that in a leg type pocket on my shorts, I wear my water bottle at the back as I find it sits there better than the front, do you think this belt would be the same with water at the back, so wearing it the other way around?

    I just watched this video and had watched your review of 10 belts a few days ago that you made before this more recent video. Can you please tell me how the Instinct Reflex fares with Compressport. They both sound good as well as the Naked belt. Thanks!

    Loyd, don’t you also find that the inside of one’s forearms can catch on the carbide bits of the poles, when it is stored on the back of a waist belt?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  9 месяцев назад +1

      I've never caught my arms on the poles when stored in any belt? 🤔

    • @diederiklegrange7248
      @diederiklegrange7248 9 месяцев назад

      @@Run4Adventure I do.. I got the Helvellyn Pro’s along with the CSport Freebelt Pro, but I imagine it would be the case for me with any similar setup. Probably because I’m short.
      Also when passing runners on a narrow trail- those out-and-back situations, I’ve had to watch out for not nicking the other runner. Gonna try and turn the belt so that the poles sit at the front, and see how that feels..

    No poles included in test binder? 🤔

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  9 месяцев назад

      I didn't use poles in the bounce test because a lot of people won't carry poles most of the time, myself included. However I did show, the belt running with the poles and you could see how stable the belt was 👍
