Solid advice here. Don’t reach. You have to zig when they zag. If a bunch of RBs are taken through the round you almost have to snag a WR because the value rises
Exactly. Last year I drafted 10th in a 12 team league and all the stud running backs were gone so I took DeAndre Hopkins and then got CMC early in the 2nd round.
Chris Koshinski Nah, if all of the high value RBs are taken, you don’t want to waste a high value pick on a lower value player. In fact, this is why a lot of people like the sixth or seventh pick because they always get a top tier WR and a decent running back. Sure, they miss out on zeke, Saquan, Gurley, Kamara, CMC and potentially Gordon or others; but, they have first pick when it comes to Odell, DHop, Thielen, Julio, Adams, Thomas and other star receivers. The first picks get a top running back and a decent WR, whereas the bottom picks get a top wide receiver and a good running back. There is absolutely no problem with Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones, or James Conner, but I’d rather have an all star receiver and pick one of the later backs than grab a later back early and have a smaller picking of good WRs

Well the best thing to do with the data you showed for the bust rates is reverse them. If there's an 80% success rate for a position in a given round, go through that round and self-determine who the 20% could be. It won't be perfect, but I go through this in my own time. I never really knew the actual percentages on it until now, however. So this is quite helpful! In the later rounds you're essentially looking for 1 receiver and 1 RB in each round to actually pan out. The others won't be starters. Good stuff and you earned yourself a like for that data :)

@Raider Junkie It cripples your team when they get hurt. Happened to me with Rodgers a few years ago, but an elite qb (if you can 4th - 5th round) will put your team over the top, if you can nail 5 of your other picks and manage your roster through the season (you need a top 7 rb or top 10 wr though).

There are two trains of thought with a team in the early rounds; wait on a QB and secure WR/RBs early (which you are saying) but the flip side is grabbing an ace QB early along with 2 RBs and a WR and finding a diamond in the rough WR as your WR2 (because each year there are always half a dozen WR that no one saw finishing in the top 30). It all depends on personal preference, some people hate streaming QBs.
I kinda agree to a point. I always seem to pick up a top 30 wr on waivers but usually not rb. Although Chubb hit me a home run last year off waivers. So it's always different.
@@FantasyFootballAdviceFFA You don't need a stud WR from the mid rounds, If you do find one that's great, but you get your stud (or just good) WR in the first 3 rounds as you've suggested, grab two good RB and an elite QB in the 4th. If you look at the weel to week consistency of the elite QBs having a top 10 week vs. the same consistency with WR getting a top 15 week, the QBs get a top week 75% of the time whereas the 4th round WR have a top week 53% of the time. (looking at Allen, Cooper, Cooks, and Hilton at WR) That consistency is what some people would rather have. I didn't say either way was better than the other, they both have merit.
I'm not be contrary but Cooks did go out of one game last year due to concussion. On my way to championship I had him and CMC last year. Great video! Tons of positive info
In my latest mock draft I nabbed Pat Mahomes at pick #50/#51 (10 man draft) and I feel like that's incredible value. I usually always wait on QB's but if any of my real drafts play out like that mock did I'd be more than happy to take Mahomes at the top of the 6th round!

This is good advice for a standard 1QB redraft league. In a dynasty superflex league its worth taking a stud QB who will be starting his team for years in the early rounds in my opinion.
@fantasy football advice, based on your success rate by round chart, you have to pick a RB in round one, because the vaule of the RB pick decreases significantly per round based on every other position. And again, based on the graph, you could grab a WR in rounds 2-4 to meet the same value. No matter what.
I've been waiting until at least the ninth round for a QB in mocks and commonly end up with Goff and Winston. I'm more than happy with that given the top half of the draft
Last season I went 15 and 2 I had AJ Green an I ended up trading 4 players to get obj an I won the championship with out him I honestly got luck I also lost hunt last season to. But I loved your input thank you! I subscribed instantly!
I had the first pick in a snake draft and took Henry in the third, because I knew I wasn't getting another pick til the end of the 4th, and I got the most shit for that pick of anyone for any pick in the whole draft. Gordon, Mixon, and Cook were the next backs taken, and I liked Henry's situation a *whole* lot more than theirs. Amari Cooper was the next pick after I took Henry, and ODB was taken in that round, but I got Stefon Diggs and Brandin Cooks in rounds 5 and 6, so I still got good value at WR. People live and die by ADP but sometimes you have to use your brain and draft for what you want according to what's there.
In 12 man drafts/mocks I usually end up taking Cam in the late 8th or Goff in the 9th for my QB. I only draft 1 QB and would feel great with either of those guys.
in what league can you get both mccafrey and michael thomas???? Mccaffrey is going second overall with the Zeke hold out behind saquan... Michael thomas is also a first rounder and if he falls it would be early second, no chance he falls to the team that picked Mccaffrey second overall.
Its not that crazy... I drafted Michael Thomas and Melvin Gordon last year in my auction league... 12 of us each get $200 to spend on 15 players.... I spent close to $100 just on these 2 players then had to figure out how to spend the other $100 on 13 players.... I won the Championship so it worked
I love to wait on QBs but I hate having 2 similar guys as in you have no idea who will do better so you are forced to guess. That is the only reason I want a guy that I don’t need to think twice about.
I've always been a big believer in late QBs. My last 4 seasons have hit on great breakout years in the last 5 rounds. I had Palmer in 2015, Carr in 16, Wentz in 17, and Luck last year. Been a playoff team in my league each year with a championship in 17 despite Wentz's injuries. This year I am leaning towards Winston as my guy, but Prescott is solid too imo. Thoughts?
Prescott should do even better this year since they upgraded at receiver imo. But honestly I really like Goff as a late rounder.. He puts up good numbers because of the fast high flying offense. Another later round QB that I think is gonna have a good season next year is B.Mayfield.
You'd be surprised though. People will go RB hungry on draft day and get guys like Hill, Odell, Julio or Kelce after Hopkins and Adams. I could easily see Thomas falling into the 13th-16th pick.
I got him in the second or third can’t remember but def excited that I did and got OBJ a round or two later and cooks as a bench player after that. This my first time ever and scared I’m not going to do well. There is 6 of us in the league, I didn’t know how to pick and took brady I think in the 5,6 or 7th
I actually love the QBs at the back end of the draft. I love Trubisky, Jackson, Garoppolo, and Prescott where they are going at. Only QB that I am willing to reach for is Newton or Wentz but there is also still good value there for RB or WR in those early rounds.
i take back up Qbs as trade bait....i had rivers, rogers, luck, and watson...i lost in our super bowl but my trades through out the season wher epic...hint if some needs a qb cuz of bye or injury the can be desperate....so if i have luck and he is better than your starter anyway thats when i get you for what i need.....i had gordon keeper drafted barkley and traded for mccafery...i was loaded last year

I've been doing fantasy for a long time and I have to say you are one of the best I've heard... do you run a podcast?
This is good advice for a standard 1QB redraft league. In a dynasty superflex league its worth taking a stud QB who will be starting his team for years in the early rounds in my opinion.
Yea superflex are entirely different
I drafted bell, but got Connor from FA and made it to the finals
@fantasy football advice, based on your success rate by round chart, you have to pick a RB in round one, because the vaule of the RB pick decreases significantly per round based on every other position. And again, based on the graph, you could grab a WR in rounds 2-4 to meet the same value. No matter what.
My frist draft 5 year ago I took 6 quarterbacks
That's the complete opposite of me I didnt draft a qb because I wanted to wait for free agency 😂
I've been waiting until at least the ninth round for a QB in mocks and commonly end up with Goff and Winston. I'm more than happy with that given the top half of the draft
tyler locket had 5 deep targets and a high completion rate
Desean jackson had the 5 plus deep targets and highest reception rate.
I take Big Ben every time I do a draft goes late and is always a beast
Last season I went 15 and 2 I had AJ Green an I ended up trading 4 players to get obj an I won the championship with out him I honestly got luck I also lost hunt last season to. But I loved your input thank you! I subscribed instantly!
“There is absolutely no injury risk to worry about” w/ Derrick Henry 🤣🤣
RIP Henry
Michael Thomas was WR with highest reception rate and had 11 catches that were 20 yards or greater.
Goff gonna be my QB this year if he's there in Round 9/10
He has been in my 16 mocks
Michael McCann Lmao that’s crazy to me but hey I’m good with it.
In 12 man drafts/mocks I usually end up taking Cam in the late 8th or Goff in the 9th for my QB. I only draft 1 QB and would feel great with either of those guys.
Great advice every year!!
Tyreek Hill is the deep target guy for sure.
I fell asleep last year during the draft and got Leveon Green and Mixon
in what league can you get both mccafrey and michael thomas???? Mccaffrey is going second overall with the Zeke hold out behind saquan... Michael thomas is also a first rounder and if he falls it would be early second, no chance he falls to the team that picked Mccaffrey second overall.
Dylan Bittlingmaier Auction draft
I doubt he’s suggesting you draft all these guys... obviously it all depends on your draft positioning and who’s available.
I drafted Barkley 7th last year then Michael Thomas Joe Mixon had chubb towards end of draft can't wait to make this $ 2019 yo
Only a league full of idiots lol
Early round is about finding healthy guys that are consistent. Then dominate the waivers to gain the edge.
I always buy the fantasypros but I'm definitely getting yours too this year. Love the videos keep up the great work 🙌 it's greatly appreciated.
Mad respect for the video! Don't pump up the likes...makes u sound amateur RUclips. Peeps will like your videos cause they're f'in awesome
I stream QB's the entire season till playoffs then I attempt to trade for a stud qb but last year I settled for Dak, in a 14 man league
I love to wait on QBs but I hate having 2 similar guys as in you have no idea who will do better so you are forced to guess. That is the only reason I want a guy that I don’t need to think twice about.
Your first 4 pucks should be 2 bell cow RBs and 2 stud WR's. Take a QB and TE late.
wandering spirit wow earth shattering advice here i don’t think anyone has ever thought of this strategy
I don't know how your boyfriend deals with you. Feel sorry for him.
Drafted Bell and Gronk last year, still won the whole thing.
Seen Brady go undrafted in a 10 team mock.
*saw
I wish you all the best in getting likes, but no way I'm going to share this video with the potatoes in my league.
Answer is Tyler locket right
My answer too
About 3 years too late on my timeline…. Draft MT and CMC… congrats on your championship!
Tbh I believe fantasy is won in the later rounds, not the early rounds with all the chalk
Well you can lose the year on early round picks. So it is important.
Tyler Lockett easy question for a Seahawks fan lol
Charles Pappas thought it was Brandon cooks
Tyler Lockett for stat of the day
Michael Thomas doesnt make it to the 2nd round especially in 12 team leagues hes ranked 9th overall in ESPN boards.
You'd be surprised though. People will go RB hungry on draft day and get guys like Hill, Odell, Julio or Kelce after Hopkins and Adams. I could easily see Thomas falling into the 13th-16th pick.
He did in our league 15th overall 2nd rd
I got him in the second or third can’t remember but def excited that I did and got OBJ a round or two later and cooks as a bench player after that. This my first time ever and scared I’m not going to do well. There is 6 of us in the league, I didn’t know how to pick and took brady I think in the 5,6 or 7th
I actually love the QBs at the back end of the draft. I love Trubisky, Jackson, Garoppolo, and Prescott where they are going at. Only QB that I am willing to reach for is Newton or Wentz but there is also still good value there for RB or WR in those early rounds.
Yeah but you don’t play in my league where everybody takes a damn backup Qb...
Lol so true! 😄
Haha true bruh true
i take back up Qbs as trade bait....i had rivers, rogers, luck, and watson...i lost in our super bowl but my trades through out the season wher epic...hint if some needs a qb cuz of bye or injury the can be desperate....so if i have luck and he is better than your starter anyway thats when i get you for what i need.....i had gordon keeper drafted barkley and traded for mccafery...i was loaded last year
Good video. I agree with your strategy.
2 QB league- I I had first overall pick. I went with Mahomes. Oops. Lol
Derek Garcia thats my gameplan
Dude, you just blew my mind
