About Dune:
A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Music is a big part of what makes a movie work for me, and Hans Zimmer never disappoints
Very True, I love it and like u said music is big part ..but done well it makes the movie toghter whit shots a masterpiece and for this movie I'm hyped like he'll 👍 im definitely watch this in cinema
So far with what has been released I can't say I've heard any thing that stays in mind much.
Most of the time. I can name one recent example where he disappointed: Wonder Woman 1984. But the whole movie was bad.
@@CulinVlau He disappointed on Spongebob 3 before, also Inferno, Pirates 4...
@@CulinVlau Even with the controversial reactions to WW84, one of the most widely praised aspects of that film IS Zimmer’s score.
“I recognize your footsteps old man” CHIILLSS🤩🤯
I watched this with my girlfriend the first time and she interpreted it as him hearing Gurney again coming for him (as he said the line to him earlier in the movie) whilst I interpreted him talking to Shai Hulud itself.
@@jamesbell1186 I honestly believe that Denis wanting us to interpret it in both ways tbh. I knew he was talking about Gurney however I can’t help but believe he was also talking about Shai-Hulud 🙌🏽🔥
@@CinemancerFilms is shai an old man?
@@ingahan5820 in the book he is referred to as the Old Man of the desert, Shai-hulud, a Maker, sand trouts when they are small, and the sandworms
@@CinemancerFilms @inga han can be seen as both, but I saw it as a key moment in Paul's psyche and the start of his understanding and connection to his surroundings. Even on sand, he can sense Gurney's steps. Even though he's never seen a Maker, he can recognize it simply by their presence.... regardless, chilling and impactful scene.
Bless the Maker and His water.
Bless the coming and going of Him.
May His passage cleanse the world.
May He keep the world for His people.
Are you talking about Jesus. I love Jesus.
@@EliyahuShual he's talking about WORMS.
@@timbuktu777 The Worms do kinda represent the "Jesus" of their Planet. They are the Gods of Arrakis.
Shai Hulud 🙏🏽
That line was perfectly executed and placed 👌🥲
After seeing the movie, love how this was used to tense you up for the "worm". When the choir comes in however it makes you realize these are not just worms but the glory and holiness of "Shai-Hulud".
Perfectly analysed!
It’s not even a Snake or a Serpent. It is the Shai Hulud, period. Shai Hulud.
The Shai-Hulud are my favorite part of the whole book, ngl
Not to mention that 'burrowing predators' have become a fixture of sci-fi. The Sarlacc and Kyrat dragon of Star Wars, the Iceworm of Subnautica: Below Zero, they all have their inspiration in the spice sands of Arrakis.
Shai-Hulud, Arabic for “The Immortal One”
Didn't make me realize anything of the sort.
What is Shai-Hulud anyway, is that a book reference?
Dune was the best cinematic experience I ever had.
True
Blade Runner 2049 for me personally but Dune was defnitely on par, truly an audiovisual masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve is the best director of our era.
I think it’s definitely top 3 for me. Masterpiece
You need to watch more films
@@excusemeforbeingsorry Blade Runner 2049 for me as well. But also Dune, Arrival, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Children of Men and Gladiator a couple decades ago. (I just realized that 5 of these movies were scored by Hans Zimmer!)
Guys we’re getting three, YES THREE, Dune albums!
Denis said Hans was still inspired even after finishing the movie so he continued to write music!
Was that said in the movie preview in the states on Wednesday?
@@TheRockinBK thanks bro, this is awesome!!!!
Fantastic!
i bet that means 3 films too, ik dune is going to be 2 parts.
@@reubenhamer2932 Honestly as long as they bring in money you could create a whole Dune Franchise. There are so many books and other material. You could do Dune in two parts, and continue with Children of Dune and make that into two parts. The first 10-15 minutes could be a recap of what happened in the second movie with Leto or another character narrating.
Zimmer is a Dune fan. I'm seeing this.
@Mr. Miyagi he chose not to score tenet because Denis offered him DUNE and he loved DUNE so he chose it instead.
@@WhiteWolf496 thank you I was about to say the same
Ø yes
@Mr. Miyagi He literally said no to Christopher Nolan's Tenet only so that he could score Dune. That's not a small thing to do for a franchise you're not a fan of.
Indeed.
1:09 I got massive chills when I heard this part as Paul touches the sand of Arrakis for the first time and sifts the Spice through his hands while everyone else is frantically running around him.
Probably my favorite scene as well
Speaking of that clip, does anyone know where I can find it, I have looked and looked, but is was not posted on youtube
@@dragondotell701 yes, but it will probably cost you about 8 - 12 dollars
@@dragondotell701 Warner Bros is very strict about content being posted on RUclips when a film is still in theaters. Gonna be real hard to find clips
A minute later at 2:10 is when I get chills, its such an awesome track and sound
just left the cinema, the film is simply gorgeous, with great soundtracks.

Return of the king of soundtracks
@Oswald That Ends Wald what?Laughable music in Dunkirk and Blade runner? What? Dude have you really heard those soundtracks?
I remember you from the Snyder Cut and GvK soundtracks videos.. It seems that you still don't get a life.
@Oswald That Ends Wald blade runner 2049 had a fantastic soundtrack
@Oswald That Ends Wald Blade Runner 2049 is 2 hours of autistic screeching? Do you even know what you’re talking about?
@@sreevatsansunil2297 it's a copypasta
The entire sequence is phenomenal. The danger and majesty of Shai-Hulud.
10 seconds in and I’m already in love with this soundtrack. The tick-tock rhythm at the start is just out of this world
That was also in Interstellar...
@@Yiroooo similar scenes too. Limited time to escape disaster from the forces of nature on a new planet.
When I imagined a Dune movie remade, I thought that the soundtrack should've been something closer to this: epic in scale, with some modern touches, but with an obligatory eastern/"desert-y" vibe.
Thanks, Hans Zimmer.
So. Much. Thanks.
I kind of felt to be in an Arabian Desert instead of Arrakis Desert but that is just me T_T. Don't get me wrong, i love every piece of music of Hans Zimmer.
Zimmer has always been with Nolan but for Dune he left Tenet that shows his love for this film. Amazing.
And then Goransson stepped in and wrote a fantastic score for Tenet...
True! Extremely excited for this score, but hopefully Hans & Chris reunite for future projects as well!
He didn't leave Tenet to score Dune he simply chose Dune over Tenet for his love of the book.
It was meant to be. Goransson truly brought Tenet exactly what it needed...fresh, exciting, technical.
@@BeachBumZero True, I loved his work.. but I can’t say I don’t wonder how otherworldly it would’ve been to listen to Zimmer’s experiments with inverted music...
1:09 I started crying when I heard this in Part Two after Paul rode his first sandworm...
Where's Hans Zimmer gets such inpiration? It blows my mind... Respect.

Once in a lifetime movie experience? Yeah if it's the last movie you ever see.
@@thomashumphrey4953 I meant, this movie is best for theater experience.
Soundtrack is phenomenal and it makes you imagine almost anything in the cinematographic style of Dune.
e.g. right now I'm imagining an artsy version of Game of Thrones with Dany's story in Esos to this track.
and both soundtracks are from germans... they know how to make music
@@PrefoX They're not German but they're German citizens.
You know, i definitely got some Ramin vibes from this track, especially the early part of the song
I wasn't expecting to see you here. Hi!
@@TehIdiotOne Fun fact: Ramin was Hans Zimmer's student, hence the similarities in the composers' styles
Because of this music Dune is going to be the first movie I see in theaters after Covid! Amazing!
During Covid You mean? Lol it's not over.
Was fortunate enough to go to the IMAX sneak peek event and heard this on the big screen and just had to come back! Without spoiling anything, the first ten minutes of this film show the mass scale and massive potential of this project! Beyond excited!!! Oscar Issac especially is a great actor. All the fan girls are here for Timothee but you’ll say for oscar Isaac. He had a solid screen presence
LEZGO
That's almost a shame. "For the father. Nothing"
Oh man you don't need to be a 'fangirl' to like and appreciate Chalamet. He's a once in a generation kind of actor.
Also why do you feel like girls apparently have no taste? Since you're implying that girls who are fans appreciate the wrong kind of talent.
Great casting across the board and I don't doubt that Villenuve's direction amplifies that talent to the heady heights we see in the film.
the choice of actors was phenomenal in general, i particulary enjoyed stellan skarsgard.
Saw this on imax, and man, that cracking drum sound gave me chills everytime. Both a visual and musical masterpiece

This movie's imagery and soundscapes are super unique and do so much to convey the true enormity of the cosmic scale this series's plot encompasses.

The more I think about Denis's movies after I watch them, the more I love them. I only saw BR2049 once, and didn't really get it. Only recently with the release of Dune did I begin to think about BR 2049 again, and thought "Wait. That movie delivered an amazingly profound, human story." The library, the foundation was built on man of steel. That was zimmers greatest work. So congrats on the Oscar you should've won back in 2014
And 2010 and 2000
This is one of the very few Zimmer scores that I've actually enjoyed.
Hans Zimmer is a genius.
Zimmer choose Dune and refuse Tenet, that's the reason.
Tenet soundtrack is a masterpiece in itself. Listen to it...
He didn't refuse Tenet, he had his schedule packed before he was approached about it. If not for Covid, Zimmer would have had scored three big blockbusgters last summer, all around the same time as Tenet came out: No Time To Die, Top Gun Maverick and Wonder Woman 1987. And he also started to work on Dune very early on, and was most likely approached about Dune before Tenet, since we've known about the Dune production and Villeneuve's involvement for years now.
@@teejayyz If I'm not mistaken, he actually mentioned that he did in fact turn Tenet down so he could score this instead. He has mentioned in the past that Dune is one of his favorite novels, and scoring a Dune adaptation is on his bucket list.
Based
@@teejayyz no. he said so himself. dune is a passion project.

What a score...... 👌
You guys just wait until his battle with Feyd-Rautha... so badass
Music is 60% of the movie. Without Hans Zimmer, this project would not have the grandeur. This man is a world treasure. Denis Villeneuve is probably the best sci-fi director of this generation of filmmakers. Hopefully we see him handle some steampunk, cyberpunk, and more realistic hard sci-fi in the future.
Usually a director approaches a composer to task him with making some songs for his movie. In this case, Hans Zimmer approached a director to task him for making a clip for his song.
This is how I imagined a song of dune should be like. 🔥
