Thank you so much! I remember watching this routine on RUclips several years ago, and then it disappeared. I love the music ("Granada") and the choreography.
i believe this is 1984 USSR championships event finals; the full newsreel where this routine comes from shows the vault portion and both olga kondratieva and zhanna kozulina, who placed 1st and 2nd, were seen and identified, they weren't present in EF at the USSR cup that same year
ofc! and thank you for uploading the routine in this quality! the only other video i've seen of this meet from the archive was weirdly digitalized and has a very choppy framerate (plus i think the original newsreel is missing from the AP website now) so it's quite nice seeing it like this :)
@@liukin95 They certainly did. I'm basing my comment off other videos I have of her on the other apparatus. Clearly the same competition, as she's wearing the same bib. That one was labelled 1984 USSR Nationals.
She was magnificent!!! You can see her ballet training. The hallmark of Soviet gymnastics was their great choreography ❤
How I miss this era of gymnastics...
There hasn't been a gymnast close to this level of dance in decades. Gymnastics today is just blah

@@fulltwistingdoublelayout4248 you’re welcome! ☺️
Pretty sure this is the 1984 USSR Nationals.
Definitely a national competition in the USSR yes, but I'm aware they had quite a few internal competitions back in the day.
