    I totally agree with you, it's just because you know it's there. It's basically the same with a lot of kits. We work really hard to add all the little details to the engine and undercarriage of a model car or truck, and once it's up on the shelf, it may never be seen again. But, I know it's under there...     You can add some Flo-Aid or a drop of dish soap into the paint/water mix to make the wash flow into the nooks/crannies and off the high spots.

    Interesting concept, skeleton + (optional) body. You're not crazy painting a skeleton that will later be completely hidden. We've all built a car driver or plane pilot that will later be completely obscured once the model is completed.

    Those washes really look good. I guess you can't put the exterior on only half or one side of the skeleton.
