The Glue Bomb Show, Episode 248: Revell Motorcraft T-bird Pro Stock Unboxing
Well my home model shop desk has been empty so I decided to get started on this Ollie's find from a couple years back, Bob Glidden's '87 T-bird pro stock car. Join me as I unbox it. This one looks like fun and that's good because model building is supposed to be fun!

Man, is this kit fun. It's taking me a while, but I'm having a blast. This week I cover drive train construction, as well as wiring and "plumbing." Atlantis made a great decision on the plumbing and I found. pretty good glue to make it all work. Check it out.

Since my formative years in the 1970s I always wanted a custom van. I drive mini-vans for my ministry, but I always loved those rolling bunk houses. Well I may never get one of those, but I plan on building this one as a custom van and a tribute to my favorite band from that era to this one, Rush. Yep I'm going to be making decals again. Can't wait, this is going to be fun and that's good becau...

I got this kit as part of the Vine Program on Amazon. It was fun and a quick build. I will admit I first picked it up because I thought it looked like a Star Wars Land Speeder, and I even harbored the idea of making one out of it, but to quote one of my favorite podcasts, I have so many kits and so little time. The instructions had a few minor flaws, and if you build one, skip the wheels, but o...

I decided to build this simple kit on camera, just to show how out goes together, and it was fun. The Atlantis folks did a fine job resurrecting this kit from the early days of the hobby. It took about 15 minutes to build, but through the magic of time lapse, the video is much shorter. The build was fun, but I think the painting will be more fun, which is good because Mosel building is supposed...

I decided to do this build on screen. After assembling and painting the skeleton, this unique kit allows you to build the dinosaur on top of it. It's snap fit and fairly well fitting, and I had some fun with it, and that's good because model building is supposed to be fun. This would be a great kit to build with a kid. Check it out.

As I write this, I in the midst of a rather large project, and I am loving it and I am having fun. Sometimes though in the midst of a large model, I find I need a diversion. Something I can start and finish quickly. Some of the guys on the podcasts call them slammer builds. It's a simple build that you can put together quickly and still have a successful piece when you finish. (These also come ...

If there's anything I can't stand, is people who focus on the negative. The folks at Atlantis made a mistake on one of their recent kits, the Mickey Thompson 1/16 U.S. Marines Funny Car. Evidently there was something wrong with the interior "metal work" on the kit. I found this out in the easiest way possible. They told me. All I had to do was send my information and they got the new part out t...

Since this is a bigger kit, I decided to do a progress update with all that I've gotten done so far. This is a beautiful kit, which should not be surprising, given who designed it-master model designer Tom Daniel. I'm really having fun with this one, and that's good because model building is supposed to be fun.

It must be tough living away from home a few days a week but at least you're making the best of it and we get to enjoy more videos.
I have never gotten that lucky to find them cheap. Cool kit
Sounds like you'll enjoy that build. Is the Random weirdness group build still on, if so when will it start? I have a kit picked out for it.
I also saw Bob, my favorite at both Maple Grove and English Town in the 80s and 90s. I live upstate NY.
Nice update. It is a Great kit!!! Thanks for sharing
Huge kit!
Thanks for the update. The build is looking great.
The build looks great with that extra wiring detail. Nice that you happened onto that B-7000 glue.
Looking great! Nice tip on that B-7000, I have used the previous version but it's been a while. I pretty much use CA glue, in different viscosity, for most of my building. Thanks for sharing the process! Have a great week.
Never heard of this B-7000 (or B-6000) glue. I DO like the applicator and pin cap. May have to try that stuff.
Looking great Dave 👊🏻⚡
According to Scalemates, this was originally produced in 1958 by Pyro, and was in the same figure series as their Hugh O'Brien Wyatt Earp kit; also recently brought back by Atlantis. If memory serves, Aurora did have some Native American figure kits of their own. I can't vouch for the accuracy of this kit, or even if it represents a Chief from any particular Nation - it looks a bit 'generic.' I'll probably get one, as it is a classic reissue. But our local Ollie's hasn't had model kits of any kind for quite some time . . . . Thanks for sharing this with us! 23rd like.
Thanks for this. I appreciate the information, I thought this was another Aurora kit.
@@thegluebombshow That's understandable since Aurora is almost synonymous with 'figure kits.' My main problem with this model is that the figure is just standing there, as if posing for a portrait or a photo - he's not "doing anything." Contrast this with the average Aurora figure which is usually in a more dynamic pose in some kind of setting; such as the Aurora Monster Kits or their Blackbeard the Pirate model. But if the Indian Chief were painted to look like it was carved from wood, with some cigars made out of epoxy putty added; it would make an interesting display as a "Cigar Store Indian" . . . . Going to our local Ollie's tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Amt used this van in a lot of different versions, I built the surf van some years ago, good build I didn't have any problems with it
I'm looking forward to getting it started, Still a little stuck on which way to go.
@thegluebombshow I'm sure you'll think of something cool 😎
Sounds like you have a lot of plans for that kit. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Yeah there are a couple different ways to go. Now I just have to pick one, lol.
I got that kit in my stash. So many ways to build it. Thanks for sharing.
I really want to get this one on the table. I toyed with the idea of making the Mutts Cutts van from Dumb and Dumber out of it as well, but I'm not sure I can pull it off.
Cool kit 👍🏿 I have to get me another Van.
I think it's going to be aq fun build.
I remember the van craze in the "70's. I was into VW bugs and Harley's. That was a long time ago.
I wanted one of these in the worst way when I was a kid to make a custom out of it. Been driving minivans for years, because I use them to haul my speaking/painting equipment, but still haven't tricked one out.
That looks cool ! 👍
Nice kit
Cool model 🦎
I wanted it but my Ollie's doesn't have it yet. I'll keep looking.
That's good for a quick build and fun to paint. Enjoy.
Nice looking kit!!
Have a great paint job. 🖌
cool build!
Cool, nice to know there's a skeleton underneath. They look like fun to paint. You could get a 1/35 scale (or smaller) Jeep and make a Jurasic park diorama.
Great looking model.
That's a cool kit! I'm sure you will have a great time with that one and I am looking forward to it. Have a great week!
Thanks you too. I am loving these new old kits.
Great video Dave, Ron
Thanks Ron. I look forward to painting it, but today's video shows the project I'm trying to finish first.
Awesome job
That looks like a great model! Nice job so far. I'll have to get one. Thanks for sharing.
Great work with the decals. I always have trouble with those. Cool engine and once you get the wiring done, it'll be killer sitting in the chassis. Great work.
While I've never run out of paint (yet!), I must admit that when I know 'it's gonna be close' I strategise the order I paint things, making sure to hit the areas that are more important and prominent first. Just in case ... 🤨. Those decals look great.
Looking good Dave! I I just painted the body . I’m looking to get some progress done this weekend . Decals look excellent on yours .
Nice work Dave, it's looking great.
That body’s looking good Dave…👍…. I would love to get my hands on one of these but I’m all spent out at the moment… I’m still holding out for Christmas 😄
Hope you get one! It is a really nice kit.
Body looks Great!!!! Looks like your off to a Great start. I'll be watching
Thanks for watching. I'm looking forward to getting the wiring started.
Looks awesome! 👍
Thanks so much.
Awesome. Build so far !
Appreciate it,. It really is a nice kit.
The build is looking very good sir they watching for more updates
Thanks so much for watching,
Looks pretty kool to me!
Cool box opening of a cool kit, Dave 👍😎
Thanks so much. I'm really enjoying building it out.
It looks really nice in that shade of blue. Thanks for sharing, have a great week.
It was a fun little kit overall.
Nice colour choices. Good looking build.
Thanks, It worked out pretty well overall.
Nice build! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much. It's a nice little model and it was an Ollies find so the price was right.
I've just added a few new kits so I don't have a big wish list. Hope you have a happy birthday and are able to treat yourself to a model show.
It was a great birthday and I ended up with another Maschinen Krieger. Looks like fun.
@@thegluebombshow Sounds like the perfect gift.
Super Cartoony! Great work.
Thanks so much. I really like these kits.
USA postal Pinto,, anything Tom Daniel’s, testors big bottle thinner, thin-thick quick set glues and everyone be healthy
While there are a few odd models on my wish list, the only real ones I hope to get are the few Aurora Monsters I have not been able to get. The Witch, the Mummy, the Wolfman and Frankenstein are at the top. This year has been especially fruitful in getting other kits I thought I may never get, one that I'm building right now. Like most builders, I have a lot in my stash to keep my busy for a long time, so no real worries. As a matter of fact I was in Montreal over the weekend and there were TWO model shows I was able to attend within 30 minutes of driving. I picked up 9 kits, two of which were really desirable, the others nice kits that were to cheap in price to pass up. I hope you get your wish this year and also that you finally get to a show. (Then perhaps you'll see how easy it is to 'load up' on deals!)
Great question! Like you, I have a stash that could keep me busy for at least a year, but I’d love to find a Flap Jack kit under the tree this year. I helped my cousin build one as a kid and always wanted one for myself-it just never happened. The only other kit I’d love to see under the tree is the 22" Space: 1999 Eagle. Building one of those would be amazing. Also, happy birthday!
That Eagle would be cool too!
