Xenoblade Chronicles had a pretty amazing cast overall. Mumkhar was really having fun with his role, and Shulk might very well be one of the best voice actors i ever heared. XC had a pretty big reliance on emotional scenes and he nailed them all.
This is honestly one of my favorite scenes in any game (or anything for that matter). Dunban is such a badass, especially after the battle when he is so angry yet so calm at the same time. With the amazing music playing during their battle, it's impossible not for me to get chills every time I watch that part. And everything about the delivery of his final line is flawless. The tone, the emotion, even the speed he says it is beautiful. "Dunban, you'll never win! Get on your knees and worship me!" "Never. I will strike you down and all that you have become, you wretched fool! The Monado will stop you! And then you will know the shame of all that you have done, traitor!"

When I played my sister's copy of the deluxe edition, after Mumkar's "death" by mechon, I asked her if he ever came back since he died so suddenly after appearing and seemed important. She told me he never comes back. I now see she lied so that I wouldn't be spoiled
This makes no sense. Mumkhar wanted to be a hero, and he thought having that sword was the only way to be one. This part I get, it's his greed and stupidity. But one of the most obvious parts of being a hero is to not kill people who are/were related/friendly to you, or killing people PERIOD. Well, I guess his definition of a hero is not really akin to ours. If he got the Monado, he would be the only one standing a chance against Mechonis. No one Homs would dare to step to him, because he would be thair only hope. So he would be technically a hero, although a really dark one. I guess in his eyes this position would be full of glory. He at the top of an entire race, wielding a sword in his eyes only he can swing. That is Mumkhars picture of a hero.
Probably because his transformation into a part of the Mechon really screwed with his head. Just look at Xord, he was just a humble blacksmith before he got turned into a Mechon who loved to eat people.
EonArashi Mumkhar abandoned his friends so the Mechon could kill them and he could take the Monado. As seen in the beginning sequence of the game, at Sword Valley. This means that Mumkhar was jealous enough to kill before he became a mechon.
Yeah, but not enough to be a genocidal maniac. And it was more "jealous enough to abandon his comrades" and not "jealous enough to kill" because it wasn't him killing them directly.
To be fair, Mumkhar had like 4 lines and it was at the very beginning of the game. So much exposition was thrown at you that you forget that. It wasn't until the fight on prison island that I also caught it. It was at the same time Dunban also figured it out.
Strange how the captions get mechonis right, but think mechon is makan and mic on and it also thinks a random eagle controls the "strongest" makan ever built.
Because that was after Zanza had unlocked the Monado - Egil wanted him in range of the apocrypha generator in order to get the monado without too much risk, as he knew the truth of what the monado really is and didn't want complications occuring if he managed to obtain it.
