It makes more sense given their names. I think Bioware got lazy making Harbinger the ultimate leader of the Reapers. He's a cool villain who's potential was sadly wasted in Mass Effect 3, but I don't think it made a lot of sense to give the Reapers a leader.
I loved the part with the Rannoch Reaper. "Finish your war. We, will be waiting." They never considered OUR war to be relevant. Just another part of the harvest. Without the broken plot narrative advancement, the harvest would have succeeded.
After listening to the whole video,this is officially one of my favorite ME3 videos so far. From start to finsh,its essentially a retold story from ME3 in form of sound and voice remixes. Priority:Earth was fantastic (just shows how awesome the mission could've been),especially with Harbringer in the end. 10/10 - Freaking awesome.

Eh, I agree they overexplained in ME3, but I don't think we really learned about the nature of their existence. How exactly a machine can be organic is still a mystery. How their minds work as a "Legion" is still beyond our understanding.
If they are so superior to us, why even talk to us and explaining things, lol? Do i talk with an ant? No! I bet that reaper is a loser. Imagine other reapers walking by: "Oh god, look at Jerry. He is talking with those tiny flesh things again... what a simp!"
Honestly, since I've talk with Sovereign 15 years ago, I still have this feeling that's I had during and after the talk with him is etch in my soul. Almost like a PTSD. This moment was the only time I've understand how much the reapers are dangerous and relentless. A feeling like it's impossible to win against a being like that. Not just because they are advanced ennemies, but because of the speach of Sovereign. You ask questions, and each time, his answer is just a new way to make you understand how insignifiant you and every living things are. Some sentences are just crazy like "Reaper? A label created by the Protheans to give voice to their destruction." or when he simply respond to your threat by "Confidence born of ignorance." You start to understand how they look at us as a pathetic dust, even a ant is more for us than we are for their. Even at the end of the game, we lose everything. There is no happy end against this kind of threat, you can't' possibly imagine win against something like the reapers who have killed and harvest hundred or thousand of times the Milky Way of every advanced species each 50000 years.

Abrar Ahsan you can in fact. Record your voice, set it a low tone, and add about 5 tracks of it over itself. Plenty of vids on youtube with programs and such showing how. (I still record myself once in a while to hear certain lines I want reapers to say.)

Its real name is Nazara, which means "the one who observes/sees" in old Turkish: a reference to its function as vanguard and watcher for the Reaper army. Harbinger, on the other hand, is the name used by Reapers (at least the Rannoch one) to refer to him. He is the "Harbinger of Perfection and Destruction", so it's pretty badass too. Also, he's the largest and oldest Reaper, so yeah he's pretty spooky scary.

If Bioware wasn't gonna go with the original idea, they should have just gone with the inferred idea that I'm sure most had from what was given to us in the first 2 games. That the Reapers respected what organic life could achieve due to their unpredictability, but also feared what they could do with that same unpredictability. So, they harvested what they saw as desirable from each cycle, and culled the rest. I saw it as them seeing their "harvest" as the best thing for the galaxy. By harvesting and maintaining valuable knowledge and such from the current advanced races, and then disposing of everyone. Every Reaper contains the entire knowledge of the cycle that they were created from and the galaxy goes back to a stable state. It's not entirely as original as the dark energy idea (that was actually quite fantastic, in my head-canon that was a main motivation for sure, and ties into the unpredictability thing), but it's still suitable enough. The Reapers on their own are already such great, intimidating and terrifying villains, that a more complex motivation is just the cherry on top.

I my personal headcanon the Reapers are not machines who let there programming go out of control, but ethereal dark being from another reality. Who influenced the catalyst on a subspace level to create physical avatars into our reality that they could possess. Altering its memory to make it think that it is in control when it's in fact the other way round in case of someone like Sheperd came along. And that due to this every Reaper "Killed" is mealy sent back into there reality to wait with infinite patients for there return.
Man I would have given anything for a space duel against harbinger using the Normandy, and all the upgrades you obtained in 2 and 3 decided what arsenal you had available
The Reapers where such an amazing threat to deal with. Remember the fact that the original mass effect writer actually wrote them to be good ones and not the villian's. "the Reapers kept wiping out organic life because organics keep evolving to the state where they would use biotics and dark energy and that caused an entropic effect that would hasten the end of the universe. Being immortal beings, that's something they wouldn't want to see."

If modern Bioware really wanted to make the fans happy (and earn back trust after Andromeda), they would put out a new ending DLC for 3 that includes what everyone wanted from it originally. I know it would be like 7 years later, but it would go a really long way. I didn't purchase Andromeda, but if they did that, I would give the next game a chance. It would show respect for their fans.

You know, when I met with the Leviathan and "he" said they will help us for themselves, I was waiting for more powerful support, not just a few Leviathan-controlled reaper monsters. The only collateral damage are the Geth and EDI. But they can easily return either way clever writing. Any other ending rips apart what made the Galaxy Nass Effect. Control ending is unethical and blending synthetics with organics would destroy the fabric of most religions and cultures.

Yeah that would open up for more endings, and a cooler story, where the reapers, thru each cycle, worked to ''perfect'' the organics.
This is a great video. I really like the Mass Effect games and I think Sovereign and Harbinger are great bad guys - evil sounding but coldly logical.
What made the reapers such a fearful enemy was the fact that they were the size of skyscrapers.

@@SpoogieDerpington As far as i know legendary edition will only be a graphical and mechanical rehaul. This ending can't and won't be fixed anymore. We only can keep an eye on this new studio from oldschool BioWare developers, Archetype Entertainment

You know, when I met with the Leviathan and "he" said they will help us for themselves, I was waiting for more powerful support, not just a few Leviathan-controlled reaper monsters. With the power they had, Leviathan and the others could've killed all the Reapers easily....

The control ending to the true and only logical ending.
The only collateral damage are the Geth and EDI. But they can easily return either way clever writing. Any other ending rips apart what made the Galaxy Nass Effect. Control ending is unethical and blending synthetics with organics would destroy the fabric of most religions and cultures.
With this, the reapers can call me insignificant all day.
