    Tyson Gay, along with the other 8-9 sprinters who were trying to beat Usain The Goat Bolt during his career, all had positive PED tests that resulted in a suspension or a lifetime ban.
    Yet, Bolt was constantly tested and he never once had a whiff of anything improper except for hard work, talent and the ability to perform at the most important moments - the championships!!
    Jordan, Brady, Phelps and a few others (Sydney is approaching this peak) should be revered for their ability to make us feel like the entire world is being lifted up by their incredible achievements and for that evening (as I felt when Bolt raced in the final, and even when he false started once, he was proving his humanity and grace at that moment) I felt like I could run 9.58, 19.19 or anchor a WR 4x100.
    I’m a former distance runner who always followed the sprints but Bolt was the greatest athlete in track history and a true champion who was a great ambassador for T&F because he always was classy and elevated it up to new heights.

      Unlike athletics which prowess is mostly based on genetics and we might say depend on God given abilities, Tennis is actually different. Tennis is mostly based on skills which can be acquired through extensive dedication to training. A case in point is Djokovic who worked hard to force his way in between Federer and Nadal. Those two were so dominant and had won a total of 11 grand slams between them before Novak won his first grand slam in 2008. You can also see evidence in the fact that once in a while we still get one of the outsiders winning grand slams when they have pushed themselves to new levels; Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka both did that.

As someone who's played football my whole life, trained constantly both in my skills and in cardio/strength I can tell you that there was nothing I could've done to be better than Messi (at least I hope there wasn't)

      Is it TRUE all jamaican runners can run is a 100 meters and 200 meters... that's it.. jamaican runners have no records in the 400 meters, no records in the 800 meters, none in the 1500 meters, none in the 1600 meters, none in the 2 miles ,none in the 5k, none in the 10k, none in the steeplechase, none in the half marathon, none in the Marathon. Jamaican runners only run the 100meters and the 200 meters..Bolt has both world records..but FLORENCE Joyner has both 100 meters, and 200meters a black American. Jamaica only has 26 gold medals in olympic history..the United States has over 1100 gold medals in olympic history. So when a person says Jamaica has the best runners... consider they only have one person Usain Bolt.. that's it that's all. The Jamaica women runners cannot break a World Record...in the 100meters or the 200 meters. No one man can make jamaica the greatest runners in the world. That's pure ignorance.

I mean look....the first and only white sprinter to run under ten seconds, is french and its only recently happened. (they're getting there) live and let live. Guy above is right though, a lot of nations success is down to the exposure kids are given and how its embedded in their social culture...russia and canada with hockey, the chinese with education and invention, the germans with strict policy and systematic sport...the list goes on. si wong utterly ridiculous. The "black" race is the most genetically diverse population on the planet which means that there are far more genetic differences between persons of African descent than there are between Africans and any non-African population. That doesn't mean that there aren't certain evolutionary benefits in distinct individuals from distinct populations that make them superior in SOME specific sports. Those of west African descent are the top of the sprints, east and north Africans excel in distances, the only thing that these two populations have in common is the color of their skin.

    @keonist -uh, no he wasn't on the 200 team, he had a bye, but he never intended to run. So he wasn't ducking. He was there to run the 100 and the relay. Since you're so fond of claiming "Bolt told everyone this was be his easy season" I remind you that Gay also told everyone he would "only run the 100 and relay" because he didn't have enough training base to run the 200 + rounds.

    @broadjumper1 I doubt he's lying, I actually think Bolt's back was a factor, which prevented him from being able to use his full stride. He ran 9.83 2 weeks before in Paris with ease into a slight headwind but struggled to go sub 10 in Stockholm, I could even see in his form that he was running a bit differently and not as relaxed as normal.

    if you going to accuse do so responsibly.
    2003 @ 18 yrs old he runs 20.13
    2004 ->19.93 (he suffered injuries which hampered his performances at the olympics that year)
    2007 ->19.75
    2008 ->19.30 (his 100 training would have improved his start)
    The idea that usain bolt popped up out of nowhere shows ignorance.
    Frank Fredericks (Nam) placed 4th @ athens 2004 (olympics) in time of 20.14s, an 18 yr old bolt would have placed 4th. This highlights his talent
