As the first detail imply, they lost their emotions. They still remember the memories and traits they have, but forget all emotions they felt from all of those memories. The traits and emotions of the human's soul is drawn them away. This is like how gravitation work. The higher the mass, the stronger the gravity. Human soul's emotions have higher mass, there fore, pull monster's soul emotions away, left with a soul that's only the proven existence of them, to charge the body, without any emotions. This is somewhat different when direct fusion of 2 souls, 1 from human, 1 from monster, that's create a complete soul, a hybrid, not a monster's soul with a part of human's soul. Or inject directly the human's soul traits in to monster's soul, that's seemingly only apply on Determination, since that's only thing we could extract from a human soul. If we try to extract other things, the soul will break. But the side effect is very strong, as Determination is a substant full of magic. Like gravitation, it pulls the magic power out of the monster's body, with is fundamentally made by magic. As the body lost their fundamentals, the breaking apart into liquid form. The soul of them will receive the magic from the body, with is out of their capability, so they will break after the body is completely melted. Back to the subject, you can erase the Lost Soul status by cut of the linkage of the human soul's power away from the monster's soul.
