There are 2 kinds of theatre kid. There’s the t.k who throws a tantrum bcz they don’t have the lead part, and then there is the t.k who has seen every MUSICAL EVER. I’m #2
I remember that in school, my classmates were making a musical. I was the one who hated all of the decisions they made (like casting bad singers as the main characters because they didn’t put up auditions), but never spoke up because I wasn’t the one in charge.
Ok but why did I actually relate to the Hamilton part 😂 I'm the homeschooled theater kid who has to SIGN UP for a play and the type to just already memorize all of my character's songs and then just practice songs from other musicals you will probably never even do 🥲
I had friends who went to high school with Lynn Manuel Miranda, one of whom is a theater kid and they probably knew each other. We probably would have gone to the same parties... if I had been cool enough to go to parties... 🎉
I play guitar so I want to try to make this joke for other fellow guitarists to relate to. Me: Practice makes perfect! I can totally get this! Also me when my brain doesn't listen to what I said 0.001 seconds ago: How dare you play the wrong chord! Your darn fingers are in the wrong spot. Play the right fret! Strings are out of tune, let me just tune it back. Oops! String breaking time! Tell me, relatable?
I was theatre kid adjacent in high school (pit orchestra ftw) and I don't think the theatre kids geeked out about Hamilton. They were much more eager to do impromptu presentations on obscure musicals you've never heard of.
My day is complete. Thank you for this highly entertaining, highly heartfelt short movie. The first time I tried to get a a role in a play and become a theatre kid, I got cast as ensemble
As a theatre kid, I can confirm that rehearsals are often until 10pm. Also, as a theatre kid, it has come to my attention that my local theatre has a LEGITIMATE SHREK MUSICAL. Which I'm terrified to even think of doing. But I'm sure it's funny-
I’m getting ready for the opening a musical im in. I am Wednesday in the Addams family and I am really scared. This is perfect timing and it made me laugh so hard :D
I'm a newer theater kid (I've only done one play) and the only one that relates to me is 1:52 Edit: it's 3 months later and now all of these relate to me
I can confirm this is how we act. I just started Aladdin. I am also gonna see wicked soon. One tip you missed the fact that we quote lines of music or dialog from musicals even if we are having a perfectly normal conversation with someone who doesn't know musicals all that well. I also did 4 other shows before Aladdin
As someone who is trying out theater this year I can relate. Lowkey whatever role I get I would be upset anyway, so.... (We already decided on the casting for this semester's play and I have a pretty small role. But at least it's a speaking role, so I'm okay.)
As a stage crew kid with many theater kid friends I can confirm they do this also do people know that trees are not people unless They have a singing role and there not just there to be a tree right
As someone who does theatre but not musical theatre I can confirm this is why I don’t do musical theatre. While it’s mainly because I can’t sing. But also this.
As a theatre kid, I will confirm this is incredibly relatable. Also, I recently did a musical so I can confirm that we did once have an extremely long rehearsal. My least favorite part about being in theatre is that if you have to dance, run, sing, and almost bust your vocal cords, you still have to act like you aren't tired.
The vocal warm up brought a tear to my eye. Bet you’ll make an amazing background tree too!
thanks, i'm honored to be the background tree
@@EliseEcklundI have to say, there was someone in our last play who had that reaction and everyone wants them to stop doing theater
@@EliseEcklund Every role is important!
As a theater kid, I feel very represented in the projects that Elise puts out
this is so freaking true i was in a play in october and me and my friends went to ihop🤣

As a Theatre kid, you are the only person that has us 100% accurate… you literally can’t get better than this 😂😂
I'm a theatre kid, and this is 100% correct
So true!! And as a theatre kid doing a Lin-Manuel Miranda medley and a Lion King musical, you did a good job representing us 😂
the apple juice handing was just magnificent never have I seen such beauty
Ok but why did I actually relate to the Hamilton part 😂
I'm the homeschooled theater kid who has to SIGN UP for a play and the type to just already memorize all of my character's songs and then just practice songs from other musicals you will probably never even do 🥲

Never forget The Cup Song that someone would attempt in between rehearsals

0:10 Love how there isnt a background tree number 1 2 3 and 4
No but actually I’m a dancer and I do that exact same thing in the kitchen. Every step is ballet. So true
As a theatre kid, I can confirm that rehearsals are often until 10pm. Also, as a theatre kid, it has come to my attention that my local theatre has a LEGITIMATE SHREK MUSICAL. Which I'm terrified to even think of doing. But I'm sure it's funny-

As a theater person I relate

Apparently, my schools production is having the title “SHREK THE MUSICAL” as 2024’s production plan and will be performed during the concert 😂
As a theatre kid with a show coming up, this is so relatable!
2:18 THE DDLC BACKGROUND IS EVERYTHING
I know so many theater kids that this is just too accurate
2:18 brings back memories of the Decembers I spent doing work packets while sitting on gym floor...

This is fr how i act everyday. The speaking on vocal rest part is so accurate lol 😂
I’m getting ready for the opening a musical im in. I am Wednesday in the Addams family and I am really scared. This is perfect timing and it made me laugh so hard :D
Thank you this is so true I am a theater kid and this is what theater kids do!!
Elise has the most wholesome cursing.
I’ve never been in theater before, but I SWEAR that is basically a more unhinged version of me 😂
As a theater kid that literally had our closing show today, I was like "Oh shit wait do I do that?"
The Harry Styles cutout in the background at vocal warm up😂😂😂
I'm a newer theater kid (I've only done one play) and the only one that relates to me is 1:52
Edit: it's 3 months later and now all of these relate to me
It's so cute that your dog bowed at the end! Oh, and you did a good job on your part, too.

As a stage crew kid with many theater kid friends I can confirm they do this also do people know that trees are not people unless They have a singing role and there not just there to be a tree right
This is the best thing I’ve seen today!🤣❤️
As a theater kid who is in two plays right now this is dead accurate
Literally me 😭
As someone who does theatre but not musical theatre I can confirm this is why I don’t do musical theatre.
While it’s mainly because I can’t sing. But also this.
I'm a theater kid
congrats
LOL good way to end a week is by watching one of these videos , Thank You
As a theatre kid, I will confirm this is incredibly relatable. Also, I recently did a musical so I can confirm that we did once have an extremely long rehearsal. My least favorite part about being in theatre is that if you have to dance, run, sing, and almost bust your vocal cords, you still have to act like you aren't tired.
Theatre kid here, this is so true. I actually just got the cast list for a musical I tried out for today, and I am ensemble.😢
Fun fact : if you double tap this comment it means you love Elise
Ur a swiftie?
OMG, we went to IHOP, too!!! Probably more of a common experience than I realize, seeing as how they're one of the only paces open at that point
As a freshman theater kid, let’s just say high school theater is absolute utter chaos and I’m here for it
